Earth, Wind & Fire another PHENOMENAL band!
Yes, indeed. Earth, Wind & Fire should have been even more recognized than they were - they were a great band!
I saw Earth, Wind and Fire with Chicago in 2016. Philip Bailey still had a fantastic voice and they highlighted it so much but then his son stepped up and showed off similar voice skills. Great concert!
Yeah get some Earth Wind & Fire 🔥
9:12 The outfit Phil C is showing Phil B is in reference to the cosmical outfits that "Earth, Wind & Fire" have worn. "FANTASY" or "SEPTEMBER" or "BOOGIE WONDERLAND" would be a good starter for this fine young men to react to.🥂
Yes!!!! Transcendant
Gotta do Phil's 'I Don't Care Anymore '
Also Genesis "Mama"
@@mztweety1374 Oh yeah. That one has a great video that will make the song crystal clear for what it is about. Phil likes him some Grand Master Flash.
I love this song!! But then again, I love everything Phil Collins does! He's one of those artist that u can put on, and just listen to his whole catalog!! The 80s are my absolute favorite generation of music!!
Totally agree with everything she said! Love Phil & love '80s music! Also love the other Phil's band Earth, Wind & Fire!
Rightttt!!!❤❤❤
@chelseahaley8350 LOVE THE 80’s! Wouldn’t it be so fun if BP’s game-show he’s been talking about was some kind of spin on “Name That Tune”?!? 🤷🏻♀️🤩 And you could choose different era’s of music to choose from! The 60’s, 70’s, 80’s… & so on!! 🤩 You KNOW we’d kick some ass at those generations!! 🤣🫶🏼
@@BrookePS23 We would totally dominate that! 😁🤘
I totally agree! I loved Phil Collins. I get totaled nostalgia vibes every time I hear 70s and 80s music to be honest.
This was a fun song in the 80s. Phillip Bailey was a huge r&b star
Thank you!!! Exactly. I know the world today sucks more than ever but sometimes reaction people just over analyze! Just enjoy the tune! It was a dance song!
Such a great duet/duo! Love Phil Collins ❤love Philip Bailey! ❤
BP was like “You need to reel it back Dude, this is Easy Lover” 🤣
Yep. Right before the lyrics "You're the one who wants to hold her. Hold her and control her." Yep, women are terrible for resisting that. LOL
I don’t think I can even remember a time in my life that Phil Collins wasn’t being played around my parents house growing up & now that I’m the grown-up, he’s being played in my house! 😂❤ He’s got one of the best voices out there… in my opinion at least! 🫶🏼
Same. I always remember my dad playing Phil Collins in the car UB40😂
Yeah, I saw Genesis two times in the 80s and 90s. My favorite band.
Brilliant Phil collins again on the drums
Great drum fills on this one. And that guitar solo is amazing.
It’s literally impossible to hate this song. They destroyed.. imagine see this live @ a bar, small venue or stadium you are vibing all day
Philip Bailey - lead singer (among other things) of EARTH WIND AND FIRE. Phil Collins - (one of the) lead singers (and drummer) of GENESIS. Both bands go back to the early 70s so lots of history. Both hugely successful. EW&F even had progressive elements to their funk/soul/jazz while GENESIS started as a progressive rock band.
Both "now" firmly planted in the "modern" era of the 80s and going POP/MAINSTREAM. Lots to take in and enjoy here. WHAT A SONG! Great synergy between the two of them.Pretty sure Phil is doing the drumming here ... that sound is unmistakable!
Straight up G
Don't forget the connection with EWF and Phil's solo work, via the Fenix Horns that featured a lot of his 80's work, being the brass section of the band.
@@j0hnf_uk Oh really! I did not know that. Thanks brother ... I love having info like that!
He was one of the singers with EWF. The founder, main song writer and lead singer was Maurice White.
@@personalcheeses8073 In the later years it was Philip Bailey up front most of the time
Phil is the voice of my 80's and 90's life.
Long car journeys as a kid with the Invisible Touch album on repeat. Good times.
Phil Collins also produced albums in the 80's, drummed on other artists songs/albums. All around great talent & class act.
Phil's "I Don't Care Anymore" the 82 version live at Perkins Palace. A must see.
Would love to see a reaction to this song ❤
Phil & Phil 👊
I was in my 20’s listening to all the great music of the late 70’s and 80’s
For me this was a time of the first music videos to come out
OH MY both Phil’s
Now watching this were have all those years gone. I’m nearly 60
Phil B I loved listening and watching him sing with Earth, Wind and Fire with that falsetto voice.
And Phil C amazing
I say NO Horrible Autotune
No prancing around on stage
Just the voices and orchestra
🏴🏴🏴🏴❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️👍 👍 👍 👍
Earth Wind and Fire guy tryna teach the stoic English Prog rocker to dance...COMEDY gold
Loved Phil Collins in anything he did whether this collaboration, with Genesis, or solo. Great drummer, singer, songwriter, entertainer, & human. He's so much missed in music after health issues & back injuries made him retire in 2021. Btw...Sussudio is awesome! It's a made-up word. You'll love it.
Yes 💯 let's not forget the career with Genesis
Another great duet is Steve Perry of Journey and Kenny Logins called Don't fight it
Love this one and his cover of the Supremes, You Can't Hurry Love
Philip Bailey of Earth, Wind & Fire has such a phenomenal voice and with Phil Collins, the beast of 80's hits making music together there could be no way this wouldn't be a hit. Such a great song!
I love both these Phils 😂😂 PB definitely in EW&F! I love this song and video! I think you are hearing the lyrics with a skewed perspective 😂😂 (especially Don) ❤️🔥✌🏻🫶🏻
Phil Collins. Was a master in his music 👍🏻 either by himself or Genesis I was and still a big fan of Phil Collins and I have never heard a song of his I didn't Like ❤
Phil Collins sat at his piano with a pot of paint beside it, sang Air tonight. Story being his wife went off with the decorators of their marital home.. sad but you can’t forget…
Love this song. You can tell how much fun these 2 amazing artists had collaborating on this video. I admit I never paid attention to the meaning/lyrics - just the happy vibes. For me, the '80 were a great time, people just seemed to get along and enjoy great music together...
Love this duet and song !!
Groovy groovy groovy thank you for posting❤❤❤❤❤
This is one of those '80's songs that will sneak into your head and you'll find yourself humming it a couple of days later. Such a catchy tune!
Love this song. Its catchy. I found myself singing it out loud one day when I was out shopping and I heard it on the overhead speakers for the store. I caught myself and had to look around to see if anyone was watching. LOL.
One of the best dance songs of the 1980's. If this song doesn't get you moving in your seat, you're not breathin.. Can you say... Cut some Rug! 🙂 And yes, you need to do Sussudio next. Another great rug cutting song!
Two fantastic voices blending together with an upbeat danceable sound. This song is amazing I’ve loved it since it came out.
DUDE I AIN'T watching this til I get home ...such a freeking great song...Philip Bailey is... underrated at the very least. Man of faith...baller voice!!!
Turn it on again‼️Genesis and Phil bringing the heat man 👍
Oh I love this, long time no hear. Thank you for reacting to it!
Such a bop. Takes me right back. Loved this from back in the day still love it today.
This song will never get old. And the video, too. The joy I had whenever it came on MTV.
old school banger
The females were very bold !! We was playing the same games like guys . Now everyone is offended about getting a real compliment.
Absolutely love this song! Always find myself dancing around! Great Jam
Back in the day phil collins wore his converse sneakers all the time..
Great song
The guy on the left needs to get over himself! It’s just a song, by one of the most talented men ever ❤
Ok, so there is the “Conspiracy” that In The Air Tonight is about some guy that murdered someone, but Phil Collins saw it, made the song, and invited the man to be able to sing it to him at a concert BUT Phil Collins has said time and time again on interviews that NO, it’s not about him witnessing a murder, that the song is about his divorce and the “infidelity” he found between his wife and some other guy.
Well…that’s what I always remember him saying. So I’ll go by what he says lol 😂
I'm curious about the "infidelity" part, because here are four examples of Phil more or less overtly stating that he doesn't know what it's about, and in the last one he even says "I can promise you it isn't about whatever you think it is, 'cause I don't know what it is about".

I’ve always loved this song.
Ma daughter and I loved this song - great dancing ! Fantastic song, fantastic video.
They vibe so great together, you wouldn't think they would, but man what a great song. One of my favorites for sure. So glad you reacted to this!!
❤ it! 😊 One my favorites! Thank you! Phil is always great 👍 ❤
This is definitely a jam and my favorite song by Phill Collins is Just Another Day In Paradise
Being 10 to 19 years old in the 1980s was special. Best music in history.
Love Phill collins ❤️ Really would like to see BP react to UB40.
This song works both ways - for girls and boys - both can be easy lovers !
Love this song! I listened to this song a bunch back in the day.
Phil Collins looks like the epitome of "uncool white man" - but dear lord, this tune is a banger.
I have watched his first farewell in Paris concert soooo many times ive lost count.... you really need to watch "Take me Home" from this concert. Its got everything, Phil and Chester start out on the drums, then Phils amazing performance and crowd control at the end. Its truly amazing
Awesome thanks
Philip Bailey, IMHO, has the greatest voice out there. I’ve seen EWF many times in concert and it’s the ultimate fun trip. Listening closely to Bailey, his voice range is around 4 octaves. Absolutely amazing singer.
One of favorites! How can you not know Phillip Bailey! But shows how stuff you like I have never listened to either.
Great song and I always have loved they were havin so much fun making a music video when music videos were a new thing
Lmao @this reaction…like chill dude, it’s easy lover! 😂🤣😂
Listen, I was born January 1978 so I could listen to this song. this song is bad ass. Everything about this song is amazing.
Great song my brother Peg thanks for playing 👍🏻
One of the greatest Phil Collins, love all he does. I seen him front row 1986. Best song every. You will love it. It great to see them in a deut. I never seen this version. Thank you
OMY, you guys did not know, Philip Bailey was the guy with the falsettos and lead singer, you would hear in the EWF band!
Love this song since it came out
My fave music is from the 80s and Collins is my fave male singer!
Phillip Bailey has a great voice. I think he was in earth, wind and fire. He’s also a Christian.
The Phoenix Horns from Earth Wind and Fire played on every Phil Collins solo album
This was one of the first 7" singles I bought as a teenager. I loved the song.
Two of my favorite singers of all time x
Phil Collins was never a part of Earth Wind and Fire but paired up with Phillip Bailey for this song!
This song is a constant on my weekend playlist. Such a vibe.
I saw the look on your face when you caught a key line hold her and control her! 😂
Such an amazing song ❤
Yes at the end, PLEASE PLEASE do Sussudio that and One more Night!!
Haha “you need to reel it back, this is Easy Lover”
"In the Air" and most of the FACE VALUE album he wrote were about his anger towards his ex-wife. It was not a good period for Phil emotionally, but for us, the art that came from it was amazing!
Gotta hear Phil's song, i don't care anymore. My divorce athem. You'll love his passion in the live version
I have no idea how we went from actually making and loving music like this to what we have now. And sadly artists that currently still play instruments and write songs that actually express something, don't get radio play.
I love this because when I was a little girl that is a show this a lot on MTV and the comedy in the video 😂 Phil and Phil are so adorable ❤❤
If you want to hear
Philip Bailey sing lead vocal with EW& at his very best. Do EW&F song "Fantasy".
His vocal on this is superb. The notes & runs he does at the end of the song. Are amazing
He was the best at that vocal range.
And "Fantasy " really show it off.
This song "Easy Lover" was either record with the tape slowed down when they record it then played back at normal speed.
Or was speedup after. I can hear it very clearly here.
It was often done then. It makes the track sound exciting & is also easyer to hit the high notes.
Yes, Fantasy is a great song to highlight his singing skills!
I've always gravitated more towards the classic rock scene (even though growing up in the 80s) but I had an ongoing musical affair with Mr. Collins. And this song (as well as The Man With The Horn) are just unabashed guilty pleasures for me.
If I see anyone reacting to either of those two songs, I will sit there and listen along like it's my first time. Every time.
Ya know i think relationships between men and women will always be part of music. Its the human condition and what better way to express heartavhe pain or even elation and the joy of what we all in our lives at one point or another take part in. Artist express through their art. Idk why but theres a lyric that ive heard that comes to mind often when thinking about songs written about relating and its All poets must have an unrequited love
ALL TIME banger...LOVED your rant Don!!!!!!!!!!!
I always knew who Phil Collins was because of my mom lol but I had never heard this song until I watched Ted Lasso and now I'm obsessed 🙌🏼♥️
She's not leaving, she's kicking him out!
Gotta react to phil collins "i cant dance" you wont regret it. Cool tune.
🇬🇧 Genesis "Mama". Phils vocals in this song are on point. 🎼🎶❤
Love this song
Mr. BP, please check out Steely Dan. You won't be disappointed!
Do It Again
Peg
Hey Nineteen
FM (yes, it is actually about FM radio -its that old)
All bangers!
Love phil collins and his older stuff but also love how hard he went on disneys tarzan
This is ultimate feel good music!!
Unexpected 80s duets are their own genre. Some are great (I love this one) and some are terrible, but it is an extremely entertaining rabbit hole to go down either way. You'll either enjoy the song or be rolling on the floor laughing. Win win.
Epic music here now and back in the day✌️
Love this songs!
Bailey was in Earth Wind and Fire, From your neck of the woods. Denver, went to Denver East High School.
My favourite!! 😮☺️
Yep. Don’s hot today. I said what I said! I freaking love this song!!!
I looove this song!!! I remember when it came out. 🎼🎤she’s an easy lover🎼🎤
Such a happy tune and a guilty pleasure for me. Best bit is the bridge at 8:48 - how to put a bit of prog in a pop song!
The song is from Philip Bailey's 1984 album Chinese Wall which Phil Collins produced and played drums on. The song is written by Bailey, Collins and basist Nathan East and it's a banger!
Another song by Phil Collins, written because of divorce, is I Don't Care Anymore.
Check it out! 🔥🔥🔥
Phil in angry state!
In "In the Air" he talks about the it was the first time and the last time we ever met (talking about her new boyfriend) then if you told me you were drowning I would not lend a hand...not sure if that's the ex or the boyfriend, but could be either.
