Man you are one of the very few automotive design channels that still posts on yt and I appreciate that so much! These days, there isn't really much fresh content to be found in this category which is so disheartening...
BMW are smarter than people give them credit for. In my personal opinion...BMW have this thing that just grows on you. With the M3/M4, I was thinking...what the hell. I love it, more so the M3 because it's more structured in the rear. Seeing the M2 in person is amazing. BWM knows what the doing even though they make such radical changes. Love you channel.
I might be the only person who thinks these look good, but definite improvement, especially on the front end. If only they offered a lightweight package…
I hate that 'broken' front end look that every modern car has where the body color doesn't connect in the lower front bumper. Makes the car look way less planted.
The M cars looks perfect. When I saw the M2 photo for the first time it was like Damn BMW! But after some time I ended up being attracted! After I saw one in the BWW shop, now one Toronto Red is im my garage!
This redesign looks incredible! Really makes you wonder why the design teams over at the M division didn’t think to use the same approach but at least you did 😄
Hard no for me. You made it look like a BMW and ACURA had a baby. Its not what it was intended to look like. I appreciate your talent, but I love it the way it is as we see it today
Bmw hate is just annoying now. The new m3 and m4 have sold more units then any m3 and m4 ever. The m2 looks like its own unique M car now. Not a little m3 smushed together. Its a big bulky little muscle car. Love it. Tasteful wheels and mods turn it into a beast
True. At least bmw are making their M cars stand out and open to decent mods. Mercedes and audi are a joke in comparison. Mercedes have annihilated the C63 legend.
I read that BMW took the approach of function over form with the new M2. For example, the air intakes on the lower left and right of the front bumper are square to maximize cooling of the square radiators behind them and the position and shape of the headlights affect the aerodynamics. Your redesign approach is interesting to see and I like some of your ideas, but they are based on form over function which is completely opposite to BMW’s approach.
This is the content I love. In the end BMW doesn’t care they put this car out just tiny and almost 4000 pounds which is an inexcusable with today’s engineering.
Please do the Xpeng G9. My wife has fallen in love with it but I hate its fron, especially its headlights. Would love to see what you could do with it.
As much as I loved first M2 this one I absolutely hate. It is magic how you can improve it. Especially rear lights that I can’t stand looks really good after your treatment. Well done.
Not as ugly, BMW, but still chasin my TT RS, and you’re welcome for the steering wheel idea. Also 470hp and 0-60 in 3.9? Cute. Maybe drop some weight. Bring on the flaming boys 😂
Man between 6:02 to 6:06 is one tool that single handedly change this car from hideous to pretty. The rest of your changes were “okay-ish” but I think it would be crazy good you use this ‘new’ shape you created and apply it to the grill and the rear bumper i.e. eliminating all the squareness and using this new shape either as is or flipped. For example the rear bumper, i think it’s a missed opportunity not to do exactly what u did on the front i.e. pulling one of the edges of that square to make it sharp diagonal
You made it look worse lol but i agree with you there is something off with M2 design. The frong looks weird and so does the back but overall the proportions of the car are fantastic and still looks pretty good as is. Almost 500 horses for 66k puts it in supercar territory for a decent price. The question is can it compete against Corvette Stingray and I think its getting close. What about Cayman not really but its a way bigger car with more weight and room so its a trade off. I do think that this M2 looks like a mini supercar which could not have been said on the previous gen and thats great of BMW to achieve that.
I still think the last gen M2 was peak design and I don't think there's anything they can come up with that will beat that beautiful design in the future. Especially the direction they're headed with these new designs 🤢
Well, I mean if we speaking about today's BMW designs then yeah this is one of the most beautiful designs they make, I'm just not a big fan of those taillights, it just looks weird to me.
This comment is a glimpse of what goes on in the heads of the board that approves this garbage... calling it _"beautiful!"_ while they looking at the hideous design.😢 I can already hear the clamor on _"beauty is in the eye of the beholder."_ But that doesn't change the fact.
Weird. Tail lights look the most unique part of the car to me. I like it overall though. Looks like a mini bmw muscle car. The m2 has its own identity now. It's not just a mushed together m3
@user-my4xu4gf1z Now I understand how these hideous models get to the market. For a moment, I thought those board members were blind... It's crazy how people can look at UGLY and call it BEAUTY.🙆♂️
The official 2-Coupe just looks like a riced out shoebox, very static and boxy😂 don't know what they thought about that design from a panther to a shoebox without a cat.
PLEASE fix the SuperGlued on Screens on the dash.....LOL...I hate how lazy Car Designers are with Dashboards!....Just plain dashes w/ Glued on Screens...
🎉I was never a fan of the 2 series/M2 design, as in my opinion the car is too short for a design to achieve flowing lines. I much prefer the longer 4series/M4 for that reason. The redesign of the M2 in my opinion is a disaster from an aesthetical point of view & no amount of tweaking will improve it.
The real problem with this 2 series is the home made-like body kit... it's too simple and boxy... this is the fiber body kit my african brothers would build at home for a custom Toyota Tazz or VW Golf 1😂😂😂
I think the front design is very American inspired, like a Dodge Charger/Challenger. The kidneys remind me of a 1970 Pontiac TransAm. The lights look too small on the rears and not distinctive on the front. It's a strange design for BMW, who are usually more organic, flowing lines, curves. It doesn't look horrible, just meh. At the front though, I can't help thinking Ford/Dodge/Chevrolet. I'm wondering if one of the chief designers had worked for one of those. Those rear lights look straight out of the Toyota or Nissan parts bin. BMW should be a commanding presence, but I think they've lost their way a little design wise (don't forget their recent models with those absolutely hideous MASSIVE kidney grills!)
You’re so wrong! M2 is the best looking BMW, followed by the iX1. This new update is a backwards step, the previous model was better. It remains the best looking BMW when you see it on the road
It looks brutally ugly compared to the previous one, like it was hatched from a concrete mold on a construction site. And the giant Samsung in your face display makes you feel like the guy at the BMW shop testing the systems, not like a driver facing a binnacle and nice switchgear. And other models got the "hated piano black" on the outside! They really hate the customer.
Automotive designers are out of hand……the zig zag headlight and taillight treatments are just goofy, to say the least. Literally EVERY manufacturer is following the same identical trends, and it’s annoying. Sheep.
This car is a trainwreck. While the redesign does improve the looks, at best we move from a 2/10 to a 3/10. Still looks like a cheap chinese knockoff of an actual BMW M2.
Saw the M2 a few weeks ago in the zandvoort blue color and words can't describe hoe much I hate it, it looks like a early 2000s Dodge, and id it was I'd probably be okay with it, but this is BMW
I hate to pile on, but the current stock M2 is one of the butt-ugliest cars I’ve ever seen. Looks like it was built from Legos… by a blind man. It’s particularly disappointing when you consider how good the prior generation looked.
I kinda like the new M2 but unsure what's happened over the last few years, I had the M3 E46 CSL and the boot didn't have a stick on cheap looking spoiler it had a lovely curved bootlid for downforce, why isn't this put on every single bootlid on all the M cars as those stick on cheap things look crap and spoil the car also with those stick on wing vents, I mean, what is it with these stick on cheap looking chavvy things, They look crap, other than those bits the car looks muscular and great
Man you are one of the very few automotive design channels that still posts on yt and I appreciate that so much! These days, there isn't really much fresh content to be found in this category which is so disheartening...
Facts. I don’t know of any other designer on TH-cam other than frank stephanson, but he hasn’t been posting at all.
Yes there is no channel like this on youtube which talks about the car design
✋

CS will shave off at most 90 kg. It's still a heavy car. It may not feel like it but tyre and brake lifes show it during a track day.
I hate that 'broken' front end look that every modern car has where the body color doesn't connect in the lower front bumper. Makes the car look way less planted.

WOW pushing out the front vents with more of an angle is amazing. should be this way! 06:02
Hard no for me. You made it look like a BMW and ACURA had a baby. Its not what it was intended to look like. I appreciate your talent, but I love it the way it is as we see it today

You've nailed it!! Well done mate!! 👍🏼
This Bmw looks kinda good at least they didint ruined the grills too much
wow your front looks amazing without changing its features, crazy what angles can do
Redesign is perfect but at least the current aftermarket parts for 23-24 will fit this upcoming model
Your restyle is definitely an improvement... Thumbs up 👌
I read that BMW took the approach of function over form with the new M2. Front was definitely better but I like the stock back more.
This is the content I love. In the end BMW doesn’t care they put this car out just tiny and almost 4000 pounds which is an inexcusable with today’s engineering.
i love the m2
I think you are spot on with everything. That interior is just about perfect, in my opinion.
Please do the Xpeng G9. My wife has fallen in love with it but I hate its fron, especially its headlights. Would love to see what you could do with it.
That BMW looked like it walked out of a bar fight all bruised and shit.
the front looks so much better
I think they look amazing
So much better rear end. Love your redesign👍🏼
We think the New M2 Language design is inspired in Fighters Planes thats the reason because are a little sexy boxy... It Is a Street Fighter.
I think you need to redesign the new X3 too, extensively :)
Side reminds me of e30 m3. Can you make a sketch with e30 front and rear end?
This redesign is on point imo, one of your best!
Hi! Question: What do you think about the designs of Syd Mead?
0:12 it was perfect! Perfect! I tell you
If you are going to make the lower intakes angular, you need to address the centre line between the kidney grills. It can't be left straight.
Wow that front looks so much better
I would change the headlight, and put angeleyes and full the part that is missing
Mate, awesome channel.
Which app do you use for picture editing? Thanks.
Black rims are nice.
As much as I loved first M2 this one I absolutely hate. It is magic how you can improve it. Especially rear lights that I can’t stand looks really good after your treatment. Well done.
This looks like an updated Honda prelude.
You´ve a great feeling for Design! I like your version much better.
I like the lower front as is, but yours is better. The back of the car is very busy anyway you cut it up.
Not as ugly, BMW, but still chasin my TT RS, and you’re welcome for the steering wheel idea. Also 470hp and 0-60 in 3.9? Cute. Maybe drop some weight. Bring on the flaming boys 😂
2024 340i M trim best bmw

It looks like a 3 series in my own opinion
F87 looks better but I also really like the design of G87. Looks better than G82 M4 imo
did they re-hire Chris Bangle again?
I still think the last gen M2 was peak design and I don't think there's anything they can come up with that will beat that beautiful design in the future. Especially the direction they're headed with these new designs 🤢
I agree with you, I also fail to understand why this doesn't get the angel lights anyones😢
Honestly this is the best looking bmw today if you ask me
Bro why dont you try adding angel eyes to the car just want to see something
BMW Lego M2😉😉
Bingo!😂👍
Well, I mean if we speaking about today's BMW designs then yeah this is one of the most beautiful designs they make, I'm just not a big fan of those taillights, it just looks weird to me.

@@G82Watts idk bro, it just looks like a fishing hook to me, it doesn't scream sporty, I totally prefer the redesign.
@user-my4xu4gf1z Now I understand how these hideous models get to the market. For a moment, I thought those board members were blind... It's crazy how people can look at UGLY and call it BEAUTY.🙆♂️
this car couldve been so perfect, but that rear end with those taillights ruins it
These look a bit better, but frankly I hope this design direction gets thrown out by the next generation of cars.
The official 2-Coupe just looks like a riced out shoebox, very static and boxy😂 don't know what they thought about that design from a panther to a shoebox without a cat.
1...........
2......
they basicly changed nothing.
PLEASE fix the SuperGlued on Screens on the dash.....LOL...I hate how lazy Car Designers are with Dashboards!....Just plain dashes w/ Glued on Screens...

Such a pity way to patch scar face....
bro reposted his 2023 M2 redesign with a new commentary
I think the front design is very American inspired, like a Dodge Charger/Challenger. The kidneys remind me of a 1970 Pontiac TransAm. I understand having TVs on the interior of cheaper car, for cost saving, but having them on expensive ones too?
Designers have just become lazy
The BMW manual is not a great manual.
Redesigning the M2 you know that was a win win.
Don,t know what the hell do you see in that shitbox
It looks brutally ugly compared to the previous one, like it was hatched from a concrete mold on a construction site. And the giant Samsung in your face display makes you feel like the guy at the BMW shop testing the systems, not like a driver facing a binnacle and nice switchgear. And other models got the "hated piano black" on the outside! They really hate the customer.
Just replace it with the F87 design, boom, fixed!
If I got this car. First thing I'd do is slap an aftermarket grille, with a border and horizontal slits. Also slap a new front bumper on
i gotta say man, bmw really needs you to redesign every new car they plan on releasing😆
Automotive designers are out of hand……the zig zag headlight and taillight treatments are just goofy, to say the least. Literally EVERY manufacturer is following the same identical trends, and it’s annoying. Sheep.
This has got to be the ugliest BMW I have ever seen since the Chris Bangle era!😬
This car is a trainwreck. While the redesign does improve the looks, at best we move from a 2/10 to a 3/10. Still looks like a cheap chinese knockoff of an actual BMW M2.
The M240i looks much better.
Why make a 10 minute video to only show the finished design for half a second at the end? Really lame.
Your redesigned M2 looks like a KIA coupe. I don't like it.
original way better
It's ugly
i still dont like it
Saw the M2 a few weeks ago in the zandvoort blue color and words can't describe hoe much I hate it, it looks like a early 2000s Dodge, and id it was I'd probably be okay with it, but this is BMW
