Yeah obviously these are different. Lots of people comment about how they stack up tho. M2 has a nice amount of performance and extra handling. M240 is a solid daily with some good performance
BMW shot themselves in the foot with the M2CS. Once you see the far more seamless and beautiful styling on the front of the CS, you'll never want to get a standard M2. I would have gotten the M2 if it had the same front bumper as the CS. That's how it should have looked all along.
@BrosFOURRSpeed That's what I'm saying is they are making an M2 CS. I've seen the new front bumper and the rear bumper styling. It's a thousand times better than the outgoing g87. They're not just these big squares in the front bumper. They're actually styled and curved nicely. It's beautiful
M2 is a fail. It's the only M car that you can't get in AWD (XDrive). It's the main reason I didn't get one over here in the midwest. Same engine. 240i is faster 0-60. Slower in the 1/4. This changes if you tune the engine to match the M2 to match it. M2 is highly disappointing.
The M2 is not the same engine as the M240. M2 has the S58 which is twin turbo. The M240 has the B58 which is single. With downpipe and tuning the M2 can make 700 WHP while the M240 will be at 500 WHP with the same mods. Very different cars overall
Yeahhhhh M2 is the answer unless you live somewhere with real winters. Then the answer is M2 and X3M. Also shoutout to the fact that these fellas were able to drive a G87 from Hendricks. 70% of M240i owners have the xDrive variant. 0 to 60 time is consistently 3.6 to 3.8 seconds. For whatever reason, the rear wheel drive gets reviewed and the slower 0 to 60 time gets quoted. I guess it looks bad that the M240i xDrive launches harder than the M2
m240i xDrive typically out launches the M2 from a dig. Sub 4 second 0 to 60 runs are quite common for the m240i xDrive. I would never consider buying the rear wheel drive variant of the m240i. The all wheel drive launches is what makes the car awesome

Interesting. First time I've seen your channel. I was wondering how you had enough pull to get BMWNA press cars, then saw your sub numbers. I guess car enthusiasts are fond of your content, which initially strikes me as bizarre considering how little I learned from this video despite not following the brand actively these days. I do know the B58 motor is underrated, and has a ton of performance headroom for mods. I'm sure options for the S58 are becoming more available, but common sense says that particular engine will take more mods and money and return less in the way of gains given the factory boost levels. Stock versus stock there's almost no difference in a straight line between the manual M2 and 240 xDrive. All-wheel drive gets rid of the traction limitation, and the gearing on the ZF automatic is far more aggressive. To say nothing about how fast it pops off shifts. It's regrettable that BMW never made a really good feeling manual gearbox after the 5-speed boxes in the E36 M3 and other BMW models of that era. Those gear boxes shifted beautifully, always sharp and precise with perfect, linear clutch take up when being driven in town at a leisurely pace. To this day I miss my '95 Daytona Violet over Dove Gray M3 coupe. One of the best cars I've ever owned, bought it from a Piedmont Airlines / USAir pilot with 30K miles right as he was taking delivery of his E46 variant. If you want a used car that's indistinguishable from new, find one being sold by an airline pilot. Those guys love their machinery and spare no expense nor effort on it. First year car, right before they switched to OBD2 and the larger but lower revving engine the following model year. It's regrettable, but only makes sense that the 6-speed in the M2 has the same old rubbery, imprecise feel as all BMW manuals from the past two decades. The Supra apparently solved that issue, but is assembled by Magna Steyr in Austria, along with the Z4 with which it shares it's powertrain and underpinnings. Perhaps owners can share whether deleting the CDV valve helps the overall feel of the M2 transmission. And of course, I'd be curious to know if "Rev hang" remains an issue with the manual. You could sit in the back without smacking your head, that's great. Might be worth sharing how tall you are. For someone who is 6'3" as I am, no one is sitting behind me In any level of comfort other than a smaller child in most cases. Basically these are two place cars with room for a 3rd sitting sideways in a pinch, and space to toss a gym bag or briefcase in the back. Nothing different than my 17-year-old 135i. If your lifestyle allows for that, fantastic, otherwise, make sure you or your spouse or sig other has something with more space, or be prepared to work out another solution if major life changes dictate you do so. The main reason to buy the M2 is the manual transmission. Or if you intend to track the car, of course. 97% of owners will of course never do that, and the ones that can afford to do so likely have money to buy something that has better steering feel and is assembled somewhere other than Mexico. AFAIK the BMW factory there still has a very unknown track record for quality over anything but the very near term. Neither of these cars does a whole lot for me. I just like the old ones with the hydraulic steering rack that handle almost telepathically, and have less in the way of gizmos to fail over the long-term. These kinds of things matter, of course, when you have a car brand that amazingly (And brilliantly) found a way to monetize its own unreliability with CPO cars and warranties. Just the fact that Hendrick has these cars on the lot, even in small quantities speaks volumes given how few manual transmission alternatives are available. Similarly, coupes in general have been dying a not so slow death. Seeing these cars are available for very short test drives, try them both, buy whichever one makes sense. And hopefully makes you smile. I'll have to consult the BMW website for concrete info on base pricing and equipment, the fairly small price delta here doesn't say much given how much BMW charges for options. And if you're in the market, don't bother with Hendrick BMW. You won't get competitive pricing nor lease or financing terms from a monopoly dealer in the 14th largest city in the country that's now more populous than San Francisco. Call on a dealer in the Atlanta market, or even the DC/ Baltimore metros where there is plenty of competition. Or a small dealer in a cold Northern climate during the winter that has inventory piled up on the lot, since people generally don't buy coupes or convertibles in the dead of winter given a choice. Now IS a good time to lease a BMW from the previous model year, since December is a down month for car sales historically, and there is still factory lease support and rebates available for slower selling models. Unfortunately m cars seldom have good lease terms, although it has happened so it's always worth at least looking up the December residuals and money factors just in case. I'll have to check out your other content. Do you have credentials as a competitive driver, or written reviewer beyond what's evident on this channel? Just curious, at the end of the day people liking your content is ultimately all it takes. I will assume parking lot test drives are not your norm. I'm guessing SaabKyle's departure freed up some room for others to establish car review channels. Certainly can't fault that guy, retail pharmacists start with a six-figure income and work 38ish hours a week or less. Not too many other careers that allow for that combination. Apologies for any typos, Android's text to speech continues to worsen with every new version despite all of this A.I. hype. Bizarre... Cheers and good hunting all. 🍺

th-cam.com/video/ItiFiS6vdiY/w-d-xo.html
Here's our comparison with the M2 and RS3. Both are great options! Those Palisade's are really nice!
@@shanehayes9349 You know what I would recommend!😄
Did you see anything "extra comfy" about either of these cars here?
Which one has the better music system?
Both are the same
@@BrosFOURRSpeednope. The M2 can come with Bowers & Wilkins. You can however upload the bowers tune into the Harman Kardon on M240 for a better sound using bummer code.
@@TheRealVranesh interesting, that’s not an option on bmw website.
M240i with bilstein coilovers solves your handling comparison problem and is still cheaper.
It could help some for sure. But that’s just one aspect.
M2 is not good for all weather. If winter has much snow, m240 xdrive is better if you have only one car.
Yeah if you need the AWD, the 240 is a great choice
Like 👍 M2 💯 😊😊
M2 is a great choice!
I have the M2, and I’d be happy to take the 240 as my daily. My tuned M2 is a strictly weekend car and I daily drive a X3. You shouldn’t have to choose. Take them both home. They are two different purposely designed cars. M performance cars are not M cars.
Yeah obviously these are different. Lots of people comment about how they stack up tho. M2 has a nice amount of performance and extra handling. M240 is a solid daily with some good performance
Why is the 240 smiling?
Yeah those triangle bumper pieces give it that look
BMW shot themselves in the foot with the M2CS. Once you see the far more seamless and beautiful styling on the front of the CS, you'll never want to get a standard M2. I would have gotten the M2 if it had the same front bumper as the CS. That's how it should have looked all along.
That was a solid car for sure! We'll see if they make one in the new M2
GOOD, don't want AWD, but do want manual tranny...
Is 25 m2 still embargo/
No. Just didn't have a change to drive one on public roads yet
Lmao embargo what. same car
Yeahhhhh M2 is the answer unless you live somewhere with real winters. Then the answer is M2 and X3M. Also shoutout to the fact that these fellas were able to drive a G87 from Hendricks. For the last 2 years, every auto they got in was sold and the manuals were buried in the showroom so I actually never drove a G87 until the day I bought mine. Good job on that. They know my M4 and X3M at north lake and independence and still wouldn’t let me (or made excuses not to) test an M2 🤷🏾♂️
Yeah the M2 is a great car! Nice to have an X3M alongside it I'm sure ;)
@BrosFOURRSpeed He makes it sound so easy for people to buy an X3M instead of the M240i xdrive when they are worlds apart in price, and of course, running cost are at least doubled plus insurance cost...😂
@@speeddemonRS3 Yeeahhh you clearly missed the joke lol. If someone is looking for bang for buck between an M240 and M2, I'd assume they aren't the same person that will purchase 2 M cars instead then worry about insurance cost. But feel free to tell me more.
@@BrosFOURRSpeed Clearly, since my X3M and M2 owner biased jokes didn't land with some, I'd say do what's in your budget and lifestyle appropriate lol. If you drag race, get the 240. If you road race, drive aggressive roads for fun, or just want to of crazy, get the M2.
@mthusiastmedia9782 I was clearly kidding around, and it was nothing serious. Just pointing out that it's tough for some to acquire those vehicles, and M240i xdrive is budget friendly in comparison, which is true!😄
M2 looks way better than m240 in person, besides its way more fun
Seen and drove both. Totally disagree.
@CharlesB46 You're right, but M2 guys think this way, and there's no changing their very one-sided mentality lol
Both have good looks to them and are fun to drive! I'd go M2 though!
What's your thoughts?
Both are just as fun!
2025 M2 hands down...mine will be here soon
Congrats! Did you choose the Auto?
@@EastWood2004 Yes
Yeah it's pretty sweet!
Just going off what the bmw website states .
Only Xdrive in Australia
@@Gr8mate13only AWD in Canada as well.
@@Gr8mate13 I have a 2020 m235i xDrive in the states
M2 with the ZF8.
Yeah cool option!
m240i xDrive typically out launches the M2 from a dig. Sub 4 second 0 to 60 runs are quite common for the m240i xDrive. I would never consider buying the rear wheel drive variant of the m240i. The all wheel drive launches is what makes the car awesome
Cool, just depends on what the buyer wants.
Is m240i the B58 variant?
yes, and the 230i uses the B48
yup!
One has a manual and one doesn't-no contest
Just depends on what you want...not everyone wants a manual.
@joosier2385 You so-called purists are annoying af!🤣
For the extra $11k you get so much more car with the M2. That’s why I ordered a 2025 in Portimao Blue Metallic 6 speed manual.
Yeah I'm an M2 fan for sure! Well worth it for performance enthusiasts
The BMW M2 G87 is a real M car with either 8-speed automatic or 6-speed manual.
At this point if you want a real M car you should look not above a 2015 model…

M2 top speed with a sunroof is 155.
Yeah most BMW's are limited to 155. But some packages on M cars can unlock that to a higher number. Just depends
@@BrosFOURRSpeed you need the M Drivers Package which forces you to get the carbon roof and raises the top speed. I want the top speed with the sunroof personally. I can’t build one it seems. 😆
@@GTOHawgyeah i saw that too its so stupid
I‘d love the sunroof but also living in germany the higher top speed is a must have for the autobahn with no speed limit
