    I’m an advocate of Toyota reliability, but having owned Toyota and BMW I realize there are manufacturing details in BMW that do not exist in the Toyota product line. Just look at that under hood image, body color painted hinges and clear coated paint. That does not exist on Toyota and perhaps other off premium manufacturers as well. These are nice cars, reminds me of the 2002’s I remember from the early 1970’s.

    The M2 is the best looking BMW currently. Also, I get tired of people complaining about the weight when it has a 0-60 time under 4 seconds and it also rides well enough to be a daily driver. If you use the right settings, it’s a fun track car too. The fact is that everyone who has dynoed it, shows it makes more that 450hp at the wheels and some people have gotten 0-60 times around 3.6. Weight and HP don’t tell the whole story for a car.
    And lastly, for the performance it’s actually a true bargain in the market well equipped at 68k, with a very reliable s58 engine. It’s clearly a great car for the price and design

  • @GSTRification
    @GSTRification ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Coming from e46 and e90 m3 back in 2001 and 2008, you always kinda get screwed for buying the first model year. This time I will be geting the last model year, last iced m2. Whether they will launch a competition model then or not ultimately it comes down to having a manual or not for me. Hopefully you can individually select carbon buckets seats then. Paying 10k for the carbon package which only adds roof with the seats seems silly although m2 itself is a performance bargain since everything is shared with m3/4 costing thousands more. Personally the rear fenders and quarter panel is the best m car next to mz3 coupe. Gloriously fat fenders like the 993 turbos is a welcome sign for this model

    There is an opportunity for BMW to communicate design strategy ethos. From a customer perspective, it’s confusing to see so many divergent design directions, from the XM to M3 and now the M2. We know BMW is atleast 3-5 years ahead of what they share with customers so the designs make more sense internally for them because there’s more context to draw from. To meet customer needs, please share more of the ethos and design philosophy that supports these divergent directions.. - commenting as a professional designer in another industry

    Nice video, unfortunately, I've been searching for a manual M2/M3 to test drive for months now. Eight official dealerships and one BMW group-owned dealership in my area don't have their own cars or pool cars with a manual gearbox (no M2, no M3). Even after sending three emails to BMW, I haven't had any success. The experience here is even worse, with auto-generated replies that tell me I should go to a local dealership and that they do not print any info material anymore (which i haven’t even asked for). Currently, the car buying experience in Germany is not something I can recommend to someone else. At the moment, I have the impression that BMW doesn't want to sell cars with a manual gearbox (despite promoting it on TH-cam and even through their engineers). Maybe I'm just not the right type of customer, and BMW expects customers to spend 80,000€ or more without being able to test the specific model. I don't know, but right now, I'm more than disappointed.
