Thank you!!!!!! I wish I could pair butterflies and roses all the time! They seem to be made for each other with their beauty both being enhanced by the other!
I’m here for the great garden tour. As always, my dear friend I love coming over and seeing what you share every time I come it’s something new and different you have in your garden. Thanks for sharing another great garden tour
Oh my goodness! That butterfly! How exciting. Don’t you love getting to see them so new? I agree! That color combination is so beautiful, and when you show it from the backside with the chartreuse behind it, it is just magnificent! My jewels of Opar are a vibrant chartreuse green. I need to send you some seeds when they ripen! Every time I see your Queen of Sweden Rose, it makes me want one even more! And it looks so beautiful with that salvia leucantha! Oh, all your roses are magnificent!💕💕 OK, your fame as a propagation queen continues! I am so happy that seeds I sent you are looking so awesome. Your pipevine looks way better than mine! lol. I have not been able to get the gulf coast penstemon to grow for me in little cells, but I keep finding it all over my yard, especially in the gravel next to where I have some planted, and I just keep digging up the seedlings and putting them in the garden! The grasses look awesome! Yeah, those pots look way too sturdy for their own good! I’m so jealous over your giant swallowtail cat! I keep growing citrus and it keeps being ignored by those dang butterflies! I love your public garden. You showed it a long time ago and you really inspired me to ask if I could make a garden at Camp Allen. And now it’s a reality! That naughty deer that ate your fleabane are the same critters I’m worried will eat the camp garden! 🫠 Such a bummer about your lavender! But the first one… WOW! Gorgeous. So now I’m jealous of your EBS caterpillars! I just keep checking my fennel every day, but no sign of any eggs or cats. I’m so happy you have some! That gomphrena will be awesome! I put my tiny seedlings in with the pansies and something (probably one of my One Million Snails) ate them ALLLLLLLLLL. Now I’m trolling the garden for volunteer gomphrenas I can dig up and transplant into the pots 😂🤦🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️ Love your tiny frog 💜 You always have such a wonderful diversity of creatures (besides the armadillos). I love seeing them! Thank you for another lovely tour!
Oh, Jo! And I saw your garden at Camp Allen! It looks fabulous!!! Everyone is going to enjoy it so much and be inspired to go home and plant natives in their gardens! I love that you are spreading the gospel of native plants far and wide!!!!! - LOL about the gulf coast penstamens growing wherever they feel like it! I love that you have SOOOO MANY seedlings growing all over the place! The variety in your garden is staggering!!!!! - Dang those snails eating all of your seedlings!!! I love how sanguine you are about it because I would be mad as a hornet and go on a snails squishing campaign!
@@gulfcoastbutterflygardening LOL. I’m such a soft touch with the snails. I put them in my compost pile. A friend who wages a constant war against snails says, “Um. You know they don’t speak English when you tell them to STAY in the compost pile. They’re going to go right back into the garden, girl. You gotta STOMP them!” I can’t bring myself to do it. I blame too many cartoons with cute snails in them. 🐌 see? Even the emoji is cute. 🤦🏼♀️ I found a random penstemon blooming in a pot 15 feet away from the original plant. I was like, What? How? Okayyyy. I’m moving you.
Oh my gosh that rose was just so beautiful that you shared. I’ve never seen a rose. It looks exactly like that one very interesting like you said, can’t wait to go back into your beautiful container garden. You always keep up so beautifully.
Oh my gosh that butterfly was just beautiful and you took such loving care to make sure it didn’t get hurt or damaged and put it in a safe place until that’s wings dry
Your videos are fun to watch. Your close up shots of butterflies, bugs, and all things in your yard are beautiful. Your enthusiasm and love for flowers and butterflies is contagious. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you, Ann!!! I love getting to share God’s creatures with y’all!!! Everybody can have their own personal nature show if they go outside and look around, up and down and especially under things! LOL!
This view right now - 14.31 shows your home with the same bright silverblueish tone that your garden has in spots. It look fantastic with the beautiful green border along the stepping stones, the blue lake of pots, and the sparkling pink and purple plants showing off to compete with the the watery blue shoreline. I love this!!!! I will be as mad as you if the armadillo harms this view! What is the white daisy grass at 19.44 it reminds me of blue eye grass but is more upright - beautiful plant!! So enjoyed today's visit and I need a salvia Lucantha. I need to wait and reward myself with a pretty one IF I'm a good girl and go work in my garden. I do take bribes - LOL.
Wonderful video! I can't get over how many pots you have!!! I got another huge bag of Miracle Grow potting mix. Is that what you use? I was finally able to plant fennel seeds. I'm so excited for the butterflies and caterpillars to start arriving here! I'm still waiting for the hummingbirds too. I have 8 carrot tops in water in my house. They're sprouting and doubling in size daily. I'll have to pot them up soon. Is that a mini artemisia? I have one in my garden that got Huge last year! I absolutely Love your deep fuchsia petunias! I wasn't going to get any this year, but now I'm thinking they would look beautiful around the lemon ball sedum. 🥰 I hope you're having a wonderful week. We have three days of rain, but that just gives me more planning time. 😉🙋♀️🌱🐦🐛🦋
Oh dear Rachel. I’m sorry those pitcher plants didn’t make it. Yes they should be peaking up by now, but maybe because they were used to being in just peat, sand & perlite in big pots or could’ve been they didn’t like to be thinned out that time of year is why they didn’t make it…they are supposed to be pretty tough, but who knows. Next time I come out there, I’ll bring you some more only in pots with peat & perlite & we’ll try it again. 😊 Your plants are really thriving & your Desdemona rose is so special I may need to break down & order one…especially since she smells so good! Loved that beautiful butterfly release! Heavenly! Take care until next time, hugs from your GA friend❤
I know, Linda! I’m so sorry that I killed the beautiful pitcher plants that you sent!!! That’s so sweet of you to not give up on me!!!!! Yes, the next time you come down we need to go to Corner Copia, and if you are really feeling up to it, to Kim’s Nursery. She has jillions of pitcher plants and other carnivorous plants! - The roses are making me so happy, and I know you would love them, too! Desdemona, Gentle Hermione, and Gertrude Jekyll are the best smelling of the bunch! They always get black spot and lose all of their leaves and I think, “Oh, well, that’s the end of them.” But they are way more resilient than I ever give them credit for! And they come back! - I hope that you Georgia spring is all that you hoped it would be!!! We’ve had a shockingly mild one! The temps have been phenomenal! God bless you!!!!!!
Here’s hope for your anise hyssop seedlings mine did the same thing they just sat and didn’t mature until I put them in the ground. I used little cloches for a couple weeks and they have taken off so don’t lose heart.
Oh, that was smart!!! Thank you for the encouragement!!! I’m going to pot them up next week and see if that will get them going. I can’t plant mine in the ground because I know, as sure as shootin’ that an armadillo would come along and dig it out and toss it aside like it was garbage. Armadillos have no respect for baby plants.
Ahhhhh so excited to see that fresh gorgeous butterfly, how lucky he is to start life on that lovely rose! Lol, I feel your pain about wanting your grass to grow tall and fast to block out neighbors 😂 I’ll be crossing my fingers for that grass to heed your wishes! I absolutely love that your community entrusted you to plant such an amazing butterfly garden, it looks so wonderful and I know who ever see it must be filled with so much joy! That beach blooms tent looked so fun!
Yes!!! I was super excited to get to share another butterfly with y’all so early in the season! I’m gonna start throwing all kinds of vines and grasses and shrubs against that fence. It won’t know what hit it! LOL! - It is kind of them to let me grow a little community butterfly garden! I love being able to share beauty and butterflies!!! - Oh! I am going back to Beach Blooms today to see what new beauties they have! It’s so exciting to see anticipate finding plant treasures!!!
Girl, you know my pain! There are days when I despair. Believe me! But my need for a garden is stronger than an armadillo’s snout. LOL! You stay tough, too! We won’t let them kill our joy!!!
I wish I knew! I don’t spray anything on my roses. I have had an army worm or two on them. But thank God, that’s been it so far! They all suffer from blackspot though.
Absolutely loved the butterfly and the rose! Such wonderful beauty to be found in the garden!

Everything is looking so beautiful!
Thank you, Sue!!!!!
Lovely! I love the rose and the Eastern Black Swallowtail together.
Didn’t that look so dreamy, Libby?!? The Queen of Sweden rose should always be adorned with butterflies! I wish I could make that happen!!!
@@gulfcoastbutterflygardening Yes, it did look dreamy!
