I find it curious when you say some design decision of yours have been questioned by your viewers and even controversial. I've followed you for years and have never been disappointed but rather very much inspired. YOUR backyard is STUNNING, a work of art. Thank you for showing and inspiring us. ❤
I totally disagree. I love Linda but I have over 40 years of graphic design and garden design experience and her current backyard and frontyard design is "Noise on the eyes". Too much stuff, no focal point and no logical path for the eyes. She lacks natural design instinct. But she does have plant knowledge.

👏 Linda you have breathed life into a dry and dusty landscape. It looks as if someone lives there now. Before was lifeless, now its alive and a place you want to be. Bravo 👏🌷🌷🌷🪴🪴
Featured in a magazine on what not to do. No focal points, no structure, chaotic and noise on the eyes. Her chosen red and orange colours clash with the house brick colours. She needs corals, salmons (brown pinks), blues, dark purples and yellow. Embrace garden editing. Limit plant choices and patterns. Eyes need some calm.
She has not considered the colour of her house brick. It is a major clash. Her umbrella red is wrong and fights with the pillows and the brick on her house. At the very least, she should get a black umbrella. The colour grey of her fence and highlight greys on her house do not compliment the red brown tones of the house. She should make the fence and highlights black or a brown black. The wood table top does not match the chairs and the grain of the wood is another source of "eye noise" fighting with the brick of herhouse and patio. I am very sensitive to poor design and it physically makes me anxious when she does her garden tours. I do feel bad telling you this as but Linda lacks basic design and colour training and lacks design instinct. She must avoid avoid certain reds and oranges as they clash with her brick. Yellow, corals, salmons, deep purples and blues would serve her better.I would suggest that she limit the number of different plants and try and create focal points from each angle and design around that. Embrace garden editing,

You were obviously in the mood for change when you moved to this home and a blank garden. The back yard turned out wonderful. I am sure it will just get better and better as it matures and fills in. Also, when we get a little older we want more enjoyment and less effort in our gardens. You have accomplished this perfectly.

Embrace garden editing. This is "noise on the eyes", lacking basis colour and design skills. There is no focal point from any angle. I know gardening is personal but the colours required for that house brick is corals and salmons (muddy pinks), blues, dark purples and yellows. I like your wooden dining table top much better now that you have the warm colors - the pillows, etc look great with it. I’m in NJ7a, and have been enjoying hellebores, daffodils, snow drops for a while and tulips have been coloring up over the last week or more. Everything looks so happy!😊

They clash with her house brick colour big time. Too much and requires some major garden edits.
Best lesson you teach is by example that is to do what makes you happy ❤

Linda, I love your background, it is truly a work of art! It’s time for you to enjoy your backyard living room where you can enjoy the fruits of your labor, instead of working hard to maintain it I hope you can take time to enjoy it! Also I like the squeak in the gate as well, it adds even more charm! ❤️ the whole property is very Linda and it does get better than that… ❤️

Everything looks beautiful! It’s so fun that you get to enjoy the many different colors by having a different palette from front to back. I like your wooden dining table top much better now that you have the warm colors - the pillows, etc look great with it. I’m in NJ7a, and have been enjoying hellebores, daffodils, snow drops for a while and tulips have been coloring up over the last week or more. Everything looks so happy!😊
