I use this camera as my only camera. The files are demanding, sure…but it gives great opportunity for cropping if you work with kiddos who don’t like to sit still. I haven’t used it with sigma lenses, but with a RF 24-70. I just haven’t seen anything worth spending the $ on in the same price point. That’s what gets me. I want the r6m2 but there’s no way I’m dropping 2500 on a new camera at the pricing they have now

I use my 14-35 RF on this camera and I love it. It’s close to half the diagonal of the format at 14mm, similar to the great classics like the Leica 21mm, the Hasselblad SWC, 38mm, and the 165mm angulon on 8x10.

2:28 have noticed this it's not perfect but the hit/keeper rate compared to my 5Div is massive (3 to 7 times) particularly with birds in flight so given its price I'm OK with that (and lets not talk about the hit rate improvement over my 60D and 90D beyond saying it's an order of magnitude about 15 times)
This camera was originally purchased exclusively to use with my EF L series telephoto primes which are so old (early 1990's) they don't have any sort of IS so the, on the whole, improved auto focus features over my 60D/90D/5Div bodies and IBIS has given these 2 lenses a whole new lease on life.
Since then i have used it with various canon and sigma telephoto zooms - using suggested settings the Sigma 150-500 on the R7 is getting a significantly improved keeper rates over the DSLRs Hell even my 2001 Bigma 50-500 has been dragged out for the first time in over 15 years and works well (though sensor way out resolves it).
And the old film era 85 f1.8 and 100 f2 on this camera? - amazing - they were/are great on the 5Div but even better on the R7 - they do not seem to suffer from the fact they under resolve the sensor and their one noticeable flaw (CA) is usually easily fixed in post

Hey thanks for your comment! Yes it's pretty crazy to think back to the DSLR days and how much better the AF on the new series of Canon mirrorless cameras is! The AF on the R7 is good, and I have found that it has become more consistent over time with the firmware updates and as I've learned what situations it's good in and what situations it struggles with. I think this is a great camera for wildlife (which I don't shoot myself) and it will be interesting to see what improvements Canon will make with a R7 MKII in the future. All the best!

I have a fuji xh2 on the way, but might send it back for this, can't justify spending £2000 on an Apsc body only.

I don't have any experience with Fuji. I'd try it out and see if it fits your needs and go from there. All the best.

If your asking about the AF issue it is an issue that has been well documented by other users both on youtube and on forums. It's frustrating as sometimes (particularly in good light) the AF works flawlessly and at other times (particularly with a burst of shots) you will get images that 90% sharp but not quite tack sharp. As I mentioned I did not initially have this problem most probably because of the conditons (good lighting) that I was shooting in at the time.
