- Elden Ring HOW TO REVIVE DEAD NPC'S! How to Reset NPC Hostility for Elden Ring Characters Like White-Faced Varre. In this video we are taking a look at how you can revive and reset NPC's in the game that you might have accidentally annoyed or even killed using a single item called celestial dew and I will even be showing you the location of the item through a secret vendor. There aren't too many locations for celestial dew in Elden Ring so be careful when using it.
Not every single Elden Ring NPC can be brought back to life but the important ones can and if you've attacked Varre at the first step for an example, you can bring him back after you kill him or you can stop him attacking you if you've accidentally annoyed him and his aggro is on you. By choosing to receive absolution from choosing the atone option at the church of vows you can revive NPC's or reset their hostility. I'm seeing a lot of people saying that White-Faced Varre doesn't come back and I'm not sure what's going on with that because he came back for me. If he doesn't come back then you'll have to wait to do things from his quest in the late game and wait for new game plus which sucks but that's how FromSoftware work I guess
Cap he ain’t come back for u if u killed him he won’t come back but if u agro him it’ll make him back to normal

Fairly certain Varre can't be revived so will need to do NG+ to get his quests item
Another good point to make, if you've never made it over that way on foot, when you make your way into Raya Lucaria Academy and head up the stairs that the boulder comes down once you make it in the room with a door on either side the door on the right leads to a teleporter that sends you straight to the church of vows.
A lot of guys saying it doesn’t work. It really doesn’t. There’s no revived varre in the video because he stayed dead. Item description doesn’t say you can revive them. This is massive misinformation that has been spreading like wild fire throughout the community. Even reputable sites believe it’s true. Don’t know how it started. Anyway, wait for a new game plus to see slain npcs once again.

@@gadjibilalov3136 i found him and he does sell it. He is part of a questline of Ranni, and he isnt officially your friend until you side with her. Maybe you have to start rannis quest first? Im not sure, I did not meet him early on. If you start Rogiers questline, he will tell you where she is later on. You can also just check Fextralife or othersites for more locations of celestial dew.
Yea I was just gonna say I used it none of the ones I killed came back like white face or Warmaster so glad I didn't kill important ones like turtle pope, or any other important npc.
Stupidest idea on FromSoftware's part to put Varre at the starting gate and have him INSULT you. My instinct was to kill him. And now he can't be reset for me either.

@@randomman4628 you can't revive gostoc because he's not essential to the game. Most NPC's can't be revived because they aren't needed to progress the game.
I suggest you kill gostoc,only gostoc
For anyone panicking about reaching the grind spot after killing whiteface varre - I’m not sure you can revive him (I couldn’t absolve at the church and bring him back), but there are still a couple of ways that you are able to get there (through consecrated snowfields - and being teleported by the robot in the academy)

Varre didn’t even come back for me lol he just died and won’t come back
You can get a celestial dew in ainsel river basin on a body for free, if you stick to the left side through the ant tunnels, no need to fight anything really if you just run
White mask varre i killed him but it says i don't keed absolution i have celestial dev
This is a key important information I needed.. once I finally purchase this game I will refer to this video definitely.
Church of vows stops npc agro and does not revive npcs. Talk to the giant turtle and it’s quite clear. It works on Sellen and Ranni cause you can’t kill them they just teleport away. Only way of reviving npcs is to go to ng+
You can also get a celestial dew if you go down to the isolated merchant from main raya lucaria entrance, you need to go all the way and there will be a bloodhound knight guarding a celestial dew

Mobs were chasing me and made my swings hit the warrior jar Alexander and I ended up killing him in like 1 hit. I felt so bad 😭😭😭 he seemed like such a good dude

I just went to that merchant. As I was dropping down towards the ladder I heard him begging his lovely puppets to stop. When I got in he was dead and three guards were standing over his body. I got his bearing and Dolores the sleeping arrow puppet ash summons.

I'm so mad right now... Corhyn is a vital NPC that's attached to one of the many endings and you can't revive him. I didn't know it was him on the road since I didn't get a good look at him and I swing my sword at him by accident thinking he was a soldier waiting for me.

so unfortunately you kill a npc they stay dead, Sellen is a exception to this case cause (sorry slight spoiler) the body in the cellar is not her real body but a projection, her real body is somewhere else so when you hit her in the cellar she is considered hostile, i saw this cause i killed bernahl for the armor he has and i cannot revive him at all
I killed Sellen like 30 minutes ago. He was un the south region, I really dont know where in the map cuz Im not at home, but she was handcuffed. Was It her real body? Or I just killed her?
@@rltinnitus that was her real body. when you do her questline she tells you her real body is kept prisoner, so yes unfortunately you killed her permanently.

So it means Blaidd isn’t an essential npc I guess ? Very frustrating cuz I needed his talisman. It’s weird tho because I still got absolution but I don’t remember killing any other npc than Kalé and Blaidd and both didn’t get revived 🤨
Thanks!! I used this to reset Millicent hostility which breaks the quest as long as she's hostile. Now I don't know if she can be revived though so don't kill her guys

@@MIILLLI I tried reviving at the church of vows.... nope. I restarted. Rip 35 hours and level 50. I found a early farm video that gives u roughly 95k runes at the start, and with previous knowledge I have beaten the first 2 bosses within 4 hours and now level 39. (Granted no exploring and rip all the graces). I'm gonna grind the farm hard without killing varre this time. I reckon you do the same, it hurt but in the long run it'll be worth I reckon. Lesson learned dont kill random npcs
I think that you can revive sellen since that isn't her real body. I accidentally hit her real body in the ruins and she got pissed and made her clone disappear.

Always good to know because aggro an NPC can happen very fast - it's in every soulsgame but named different in every game. I aggroed the warmaster but decided to kill him and take his armor😜
Did you know that if you kill all the vendors across the map,you can get all of their stuff from the husks in roundtable hold? Quite comfortable to have everything at one single vendor in a save location instead of searching the right vendor everytime you need a special item. Maybe you would have a try😉

It’s really weird, in my first game it did, but my second playthrough I found it works but not for Varre, so at the time yes, but it might have been patched

I'm trying to revive kenneth, so im following your guide. at 3:44 i was about to drop down, and a dialogue suddenly starts "saying your my puppets etc..." i think it's seluvis, but he's dead on my playthrough. i just finished ranni's questline. blaidd, iji, seluvis are dead.

im a bit confused, it didnt work for me. i wasnt able to use the item at the church. on my playthrough i actually wasnt the one to kill him, the tree sentinile did so maybe thats why? im going to try to agro another NPC and then use it and see if it works, brb

I accidentally attacked gostoc, and it killed him, i felt so guilty as he was so happy to be free, its nice to know i can revive him.
I honestly didn't care about the items he sold/was involved in, i just felt so bad, especially considering his last words we're "Im free... i can do anything i want now."

if you killed him (like me) before getting the medallion (I just had talk to him ONCE more) you cant resurrect him. Ever.

I killed Yura for his long ass katana in Limgrave. And in endgame in the snowy area I saw Yura again, I was like wtf! I killed him already.
Then I killed him again and he dropped his Armor set.
Now Im curious If Yura will drop another katana to power stance if I kill him in Limgrave twice. Imma go test that out.
That’s actually some weird frenzy spirit named sharibri or something that tells you he possessed Tyra’s dead body. I believe he’s involved in the frenzy ending.

i am well over 300 hours into the game, varre DOES NOT come back with a celestial dew if you kill him, period, end of story. anyone telling you he does is lying to your face.

I accidentally killed varre i looked up on how to revive him and when i saw this i did it and it says i have no absolutions even though i literally killed varre
Bear in mind this DOES NOT apply to all important NPCs - some it doesn't apply to can lock you out of bosses as I found :(

Yeah happened with Fia after I killed her thinking I completed her quest line, now I have to new game to do it so I can beat the boss from her quest line and one other to platinum the game

It seems like this does not work for Varre, it said that i "didn't need absolution". So i guess i fucked now because of a character insulting me and he getting bitch slapped to death in return. Only to later be thw best way to farm runes now... So now I'm stuck with Rolling-ball grind that very tedious
