A simple format interview executed with a friendly manner whose quality far exceeds the rather stilted efforts from other Guernsey lifestyle channels. The difference is of course, that Ross can also do the scenic and information videos to a very high standard as can be seen by his channel listings !
Interesting what you say about missing the sea. When I moved to the UK I expected to see the sea every time I reached the brow of a hill and found it so strange just to see land. I think it is really important to enjoy all the Guernsey history with the monuments and walks and traditions like the Agricultural Shows, Liberation Day, Classic Cars and the markets. Haven’t seen Sark sheep racing yet!
Thank you to you both for doing this video which I am sure will be helpful information to anyone considering moving to Guernsey from the UK and in particular from city life and adjusting to a more relaxed pace of life. I love the concept of hedge veg and loved it when I was over there in Guernsey, although sadly I know only too well it simply wouldn't work over here in most areas of the UK.
Very similar to the Falkland Islands where I am at the moment including our wee cinema. Sounds brilliant. Looking forward to starting my new job on the island this January 2023 xx
Hi Ross, Great video the only other issue with living in Guernsey is that if you were going on holiday like Spain etc you would have to fly to the UK first so you would have to pay for 4 flights instead of 2. I believe there was a cinema (Odeon??) in St. Peters Port, went there once to see Tower Inferno (shows how long ago that was). Keep up the great videos and maybe in the summer could you do a video on Herm and maybe Sark too?
Hi paul, thanks for all that. I did a video on Herm a little while back, here’s the link if you’re interested. What’s It Like On HERM ISLAND?? th-cam.com/video/UE3_ZiGNwX0/w-d-xo.html
I found it was small, the roads etc, there are no motorways, not a lot of parking, sometimes we had to drive round for upto an hour trying to park, we lived by town.
This was excellent. Is it possible for someone from the UK to rent accommodation. Are there restrictions in any way. Are key workers entitled to rent privately. I am just wondering as I have assumed, that people born on the island would have priority ( rightly so). Would there be a big seasonal element to permissions/arrangements being made for workers during the summer months.
Hi Ross ..... Nice imformal interview ... do you want to disclose what your day job is ? .... I dont think you have ever mentioned it in any of your vids.
Have good question for you, am I able to live on a 40 - 50 ft boat whilst in the marina, and if yes how long could I remain, I / we live in the UK and am retired on state & private pension
So I was curious about the Guernsey passport, does it have the same value as the UK passport or does it differ? And after gaining the residency in Guernsey, can you travel to UK occasionally as a foreigner?
The Guernsey passport is a British passport issued by the Passport Office of the Customs and Immigration Department in St Peter Port to British citizens.
I am a big fan of your channel.I watche your every video . How much living cost for a single person In Guernsey & how much money a waiter earn in a month???

very good description , nice video
Glad you liked it
Cool thanks
No problem
the main problem is the housing crises.
apartments are almost not existant, not to mention the prices are out of this world.
I found it was small, the roads etc, there are no motorways, not a lot of parking, sometimes we had to drive round for upto an hour trying to park, we lived by town.
Hi Liz, yes the parking in town can be very challenging and stressful at times😞
Does the NHS cover uk tourists in Guernsey?
