City folk have become constant voyeurs into rural living. I see it everywhere online. We're "deplorable" hillbillies, but hey we're the envy of the world now.
She is a fairy indeed and dreams do materialize. When I was a child I was going through some hard time and as an escape, I used to draw again and again the same picture. It was a small fairytale cottage with red shingles, a green roof, white windows and shutters and a huge stone chimney. It was among the mountains, by a lake, surrounded by a stream with plenty of fish, and with a forest in the background. There were dragonflies, butterflies, bluejays, chipmunks and flowers all over. Decades later, my husband and I were looking for a small cottage, and we searched and searched for about three years but nothing was appealing to me. Unconsciously, I was looking for the magical cottage I used to draw during my childhood. And one day, at the turn of a tiny country road, here it was, the exact same cottage I used to draw, with the red shingles and green roof and white windows and shutters and the stone chimney and the stream with fish, and the forrest and the lake. And it was for sale at a price we could afford. We planted an array of flowers. But, what was even more unbelievable, were the bluejays, the chipmunks, butterflies and dragonflies all over. A little over 6 months ago I was at my lowest, feeling unbelievably frustrated with my achieviements in life. Single can be a blessing if you'll let it. I used to not want to be alone, but my marriage did not turn out well. Try 17 years of mental abuse. If I could do over again ... I would not marry. And at 65 have no plans to every marry again. Because I find the single life a real blessing. And will never let the words, When in doubt...Don't do it. Go by the way side. Rain on your wedding day means a happy marriage! But that’s not a consolation at the time, I know. I love the space around your cottage. I really want that, too, at some point. But as you point out, it’s not always plain sailing. And btw I adore your jumpsuit and you look lovely in it!
😘😙Rained at my wedding too 36 years ago 😣As we were exchangeing our vows the sun came beaming down thru the dark clouds.😆36 years later we r Still together😍
Your wedding sounds so much like Anne of Green Gables! She had rain too, but then the sun came out at just the right time. I believe there may have been a rainbow involved as well. 😊🌈
Dear Paola I’m so thrilled that you’re making lilac icecream. I’ve seen recipes for lilac jelly and I could imagine you making that and loving it as well. Lavender makes a beautiful icecream as well and lavender infused honey is divine. I love that your hummingbird blessed your wedding to Luke with its presence, and you had a rainbow. With all three of our babies, a rainbow 🌈 appeared every time we were bringing them home. Joy and blessings to you and Luke. I’m looking forward to when your book is published. 💗
Congratulations on your wedding! My husband and I just celebrated our 45th anniversary in March and I can tell you that you cannot control everything in life and the sooner you learn to roll with the unexpected things, the better off you will be. You have the right attitude and will do well. When we were expecting our first baby way back in the 70's, women didn't get ultrasound exams. I was due at the end of July and in the middle of May, I went into labor and had premature twin girls. Needless to say that was a shock. Instead of one healthy baby, we got two sick babies and were totally unprepared on every level. So we learned very early on to roll with the unexpected because sometimes out of the unexpected comes joy. It made us stronger and taught us how to work together as a team and how to be selfless. Had things gone to our plan, I doubt we would have matured as quickly as we did nor would we have learned to work together as well as we did. Good on you for finding the positives! Hope you have a very happy life together.
Loved reading this! I truly believe we are never given more than we can handle. The human spirit and ability to adapt always amazes me. I'm 23 and it's interesting to me how many people my age yearn for yesteryear. Sometimes I find myself having nostalgia for time periods I didn't live in which is quite bizarre...then read things like not getting ultrasounds and realise I am definitely born in the right time period haha. However I think this era presents a lot of challenges to young people that our elders have no idea how to navigate, so much is brand new. BUT wisdom is eternal. The fundamental transitions and challenges humanity face are actually age old, just recycling in new forms. That's why I find Paola so refreshing, she's not a carbon copy, she's just herself in evolution and growth and willing to share it with the world. From my perception, youth culture has become increasingly obsessed with being a monolith, which is interesting given how individualist and selfish so many aspects of the West are. In your view were there parts of the 70s/80s that you think were positive which have not been held onto to?
Thank you so much for sharing your inspiring story, I feel like its so rare nowadays that two people decide to spend so many years together as a married couple. For me, that sounds like the definition of true love. Staying together and supporting each other even in hard times. Wishing you truly the best for the next years.
@@matrix2297 Thank you for your comment. You sound like a very mature, intelligent and perceptive young lady. I too, think young people are facing challenges that my generation never had to deal with and frankly, I am very grateful to have been born when I was. I don't know if I could navigate being a young person today, however, everything is relative and if you don't know anything else, then I guess you can't miss what you never experienced. Some things are better today, but I think many are not and most of it revolves around technology. We have 4 daughters who are 27, 33, 45 and 45 and I see such a difference between the first two and the youngest, despite being raised the same way by the same parents and I can't help but think it is the influence of the times we live in. The 70s and 80s were not perfect, but I feel they were much more innocent times on many levels. Everything was simpler. No Pinterest style parties and showers. No TH-cam makeup videos. (something my 20 yo granddaughter watches constantly and she spends a fortune on makeup) And I didn't know anyone who used a planner and planned their life down to the last detail. TV shows were better and more family oriented and you would watch TV together as a family a lot of the time. Where I grew up, there were deep rooted traditions that were observed community wide and a moral code that most every one lived by. People weren't offended by every little thing. There was no doubt about right and wrong and if you choose wrong, there were consequences. There were more 2 parent families back then and you had to earn what you wanted in school and in life. No participation trophies. And schools were much better back then as well. I pulled my youngest two kids out of school in 2000 and homeschooled them because I didn't like what I was seeing in our public school and I feel for my kids that are having to deal with kids in public school today. If given the choice of living today or back then, I would go back in a heartbeat because I think things were just less complicated on many levels.
@@albertstraumVLOG Thank you so much!!!! We are the oddballs, even among our friends. Life hasn't been perfect or easy. We have had many, many ups and downs over the years and at times, it would have been easy to just walk away. But we didn't. We just got up each morning and did what we had to do to get through that day and somehow we have ended up here, 45 years down the road.
Today I went to a funeral for my friends baby. It was a hard day. I’m crying watching you make ice cream. I feel a strange peace watching you. Im able to mourn a loss and appreciate the beauty of life in a single moment. Thank you for the peaceful videos and sharing such beauty with the world.
Dandelion fluff is floating all over my yard. I wait to mow the backyard until all the flowers turn into puffballs so the bees have a chance to collect all they can. Now the chairs in the grass are seat high in abundant green and puffy fluff. Love the color of the lilac ice cream. Lilac grows all over town here in Montana. You open the door in the morning and the scent is heavenly. Love all the varieties of flowers you have in Washington. Praying for you and for us that there will be no fires this summer💕Cathy
That's amazing how the sun broke through the rain clouds, a hummingbird and rainbow all graced your wedding! It was magical just like your creative imagery of fairies, bunnies, and flowers. Your woodland fields of flowers and secret garden of your home just adds to the magic. Enjoy! jenny
My Mum always said "mariage pluvieux, mariage heureux", (yes, I'm French), meaning: rainy wedding, happy marriage ! 💖💗💝 Looks to me like it couldn't have been more perfect 🐞🦋🐦🌧🌦☀️🌈 Wishing you lots of happiness 😍
I think we’re expecting some rain here next Saturday. Thankfully, my wedding is indoors, and we also have sayings about rain on a wedding day being lucky. 😊
It sounds to me like your wedding day was perfect. How lovely to have rain, hummingbirds and rainbows! Looking forward to ordering a copy of your book.
It maybe the nature's special arrangement forming temporary clouds and showering to purify the place before the wedding. Magical weather and variety of emotions reinforced the memory of the day eternal for you. The floral ice cream with lilac syrop must be magically delicious! I can't wait to see your book to become available. Thank you as always for the joyful and peaceful videos and arts. Please take care.
You were blessed in so many ways on your wedding day. The rain, the rainbow, sunrays, little animals and hummingbird all are considered lucky omens. So it seems that your Wedding was affirmed by all nature and your families. Congrats again. Love to see you creating so many beautiful lovely things..you are so blest.
Life doesn't always go as planned, but the fun in the journey is learning how to adapt and thrive. Everything we go through in life shapes us and makes us who we are. Congratulations and best wishes for a long and happy life together!
I closed my eyes when you stepped through the lilac “door” into your secret garden. (BTW, one of my favorite books!) I remember my Mama had lilacs and I would climb in under the bushes and breathe in that luscious scent! How blessed you are to have so many!!! I’ve made violet jam and jelly but never lilac ice cream! How wonderful is that! We also made ice cream, just vanilla, strawberry or peach, homemade when I was little. Each of us would take a turn churning that delicious custard! I love your simple life Paola. Thank you for sharing it with us. I wish only the very best for you and Luke! 🥰🫶🏻🌼🌞🌸
Congratulations on your wedding and life of marriage may the Lord bless you both with a home & heart filled with His peace, laughter & an abundance of love
Hello 👋 Paola I’m from Sri Lanka 🇱🇰 I began to watch your videos last week and I’m very happy to see the way you speak in the videos. You are very lucky to spend such a beautiful and fairly life with your partner. Congratulations 🥳 for your newly blessed life together
Hello from a twin mother. You bring me such joy and such hope when I listen to you talking and watching all your creativity. What a beautiful soul you have. My one daughter is so much like you. Thank you so much for allowing me to share a small part of your unique journey in life. 🤗💐🌹🏵
When I went to Vancouver to study there for a couple of months, I fell deeply in love with humming birds. They are very precious and they woke my passion for birds up. Your anecdote is beautiful. Lots of love, Christelle
It poured on our wedding day...but I still had a smile on my face with the changes. Pinning up my dress and wearing my Mother's white coat to get to the church. I also bought 'go go' ( the 60's) white boots in case of snow and then wore them for rain!. Married 38 wonderful years and certainly saw the good luck. 😘 Blessoings to you & Luke in your new married life 💐❤
Your watercolor reminded me of St. Melangell, a 7th century Irish saint who is the patron of small animals, especially rabbits. Icons of her often feature a rabbit in her arms.
I have started having cranberry hibiscus tea each day here in Bujumbura, Burundi. I just had a UTI, and found that this plant was in my side yard and could have really helped me to heal without medication! It has such a lovely taste and color. Thank you for the inspiration to look at plants differently!
Thank you for sharing your beautiful wedding experience with all of us! We have seen unexpected rain during a couple springtime weddings at our chateau, but there is a simple French saying: “mariage pluvieux, mariage heureux!” (rainy wedding, happy wedding). The rain never washes away the collective joy and love that is shared that day 💕 Your ice cream looks delicious! We get lavender ice cream in Paris whenever we get a chance 😊
I’m going to get married early may next year and the wedding venue organizer reassured us that a wet knot is stronger than a dry one! Your wedding sounded so magical and like the perfect beginning to a marriage full of life’s varieties. Congratulations! 🌷
I believe the heavens and nature were delighted and happy to join your special wedding day hence the wild life, humming bird and the unexpected yet 'accurate timings' of the rain -not spoiling your plans -but showing their excitement to your beautiful day. You're a true fairy to them all ...🧚♀️
Good to see you so fulfilled! The day you described, according to Old Wives Tales, was just perfect: rain, sunshine, rainbow : PERFECT for your married life full of blessings!
You are such a beautiful soul and bring so much pleasure and peace sharing your life and talents with all of us here, in what is a dark and turbulent world right now. I’ve always felt I “don’t belong” in the mainstream with my daydreams and love of nature, fairies and animals, as a separate world I can escape into when needed and you have shown me we are very similar souls and I do belong after all. Life IS uncertainty and we can’t always have perfect days with no hic-ups. Because of that everything turned out wonderful and more magical for you on your wedding day. I’m so happy for both of you and thank you for sharing your special day with us. God bless you both in your life together. 😘
Congratulations to you and your husband. May the Lord bless your union with your heart's desires. You looked absolutely beautiful.🌼🌺🌸. Thank you for a Sunday Treat..enjoyed the calming and soothing video as always..
Hummingbirds have a very special place in my heart too. They brought me into wildlife photography and created even more special moments and awareness into my life. 🥰
Hummingbirds are my most favorite bird also. Whenever there has been stress in my life, a hummingbird appears and helps take my stress away. Glad to know from one Paula to another you enjoy these tiny creatures who are truly magnificent! Congrats on your wedding. Hopefully you will share more pics!
You are truly a beautiful soul. The sanctuary that is your home extends beyond those walls and touches everyone who comes to find peace here. Blessings on your new married journey.❤
Oh, the color of the ice cream is just lovely! So happy for you with your enchanted wedding day. I, too, love to watch the floating bits through the dreamy air. Thanks for sharing.
Making ice cream brought back wonderful memories. My dad would make ice cream for us when we went on a picnic. That very same hand turn ice cream maker. Us kids would all take turns turning the ice cream. Such a lovely memory for me. This was in the 50's as I'm 71 years old 😊 I love your channel.
Paola, I look forward to your videos, I feel as though I am in a forest and at any minute I will see a fairy frolic through the woods. I can say with all my heart your kindness has given me so much joy and hope for the world. I loved seeing some of your wedding photos so beautiful, wishing you all the love and happiness for the rest of your lives.
When I am about to watch your videos I get comfortable, and cozy, and sip on a cup of camomile tea. It's such a pleasure to watch you in your element as you draw, paint, gather flowers, and even make ice cream in a vintage maker. You have a calmness I've dreamt of. LOL. Blessings to you in your new surroundings as a married woman. Happy for you both. 💖
That is a sign - the clouds parting and the sun coming out - the heavens blessed your union 💖 It would've been wonderful whatever had happened, but these events were so sweet.
Paola, you are such a lovely soul. You remind me a bit of a modern day Beatrix Potter. I just ordered the package you referenced and look forward to seeing it in person. Congratulations again to you and Luke…wishing you much love and joy always.
I love the fact that you take off your shoes before entering your house, if only people knew how much dirt they can bring in their home by having their shoes on as they enter their house. I love your house and your town. It’s heavenly beautiful❤❤❤
My Wedding Day (about 24 years ago) was not quiet what I had dreamed of... and it also rained during picture taking... but I was sad about it. I wished I had the wisdom you have to see there were so many wonderful moments on that not absolutely perfect day. You are an inspiration for me every day, working on approaching my life differently.
I loved that you shared a few images and I understand the desire for privacy and intimacy - would love to see more images of the wedding if you choose to share in the future! Congratulations! I was 25 when I married, and it rained on our wedding day. Our 20th anniversary is in October! =) 3 beautiful children later and 20 years of ups and downs - but let's say the rain blessed us! =)
I have never considered the concept “creativity of the moment”. I have learned to let go and not interfere in the present but never thought of accepting it with such grace. Thank you!
The little birds were a sign of the Divine that everything will be okay, Thank You for sharing with us I love watching everything that you do from cooking to gardening. And all the creative things in between. You look very happy and at peace and I wish you all the best.. 🕊P💝L🙏B
In my country (Slovenia) there is a saying about rain on the wedding day. It brings all kinds of blessings like luck, children, money, health and joy. So wedding day without a rain is a no go. And we had almpst the same as you. It was cloudy before the ceremony and after it the sky broke down on us and it was pouring... and it was really short but strong. Rainbow followed and sunshine 🌞 as well. Magical ❤
Paola, I just recently discovered your videos and I’m really enjoying them. You have a beautiful articulate speaking voice and such a calming presence. Congratulations on your recent wedding and your new home. I will be sure to continue to tune in to experience the serenity you share with your followers. 💗🌷💜
I loved the bit when you prepare the lilac infused milk and the lilac flowers on the white milk kind of echo the pattern on the teapot behind the pot. So delicate and aesthetically pleasing! Congrats on your wedding and thank you for sharing the story and the pictures with us!
It rained all day the day my husband and I got married but the sun came out as we got to the church. I’ve heard that rain on your wedding day is good luck. We will be married 50 years in July!
Congratulations!! So happy for you and Luke. May your lives always have many magical moments, lots of laughter, and never ending love and appreciation for each other. Sending you love and we'll wishes from Oregon, Valerie
I think the rain and the rainbow and the hummingbird are special little signs from the universe and I love that you were able to embrace the unexpected
When I watched her video the first time I wondered How beautifully she explained her own life and also what pleasant rural areas she has I am addicted to every word that she speaks through her videos because everything that shows in her videos is just amazing I can't take my eyes off I am from India and am watching not only for self-satisfaction but also for improving my communication skill ❤ from my heart God will bless you
Congratulations Paula and I wish you and your husband many, many, many, many, many years of happiness. You've been blessed by the hummingbird and the rainbow and I'm pretty sure there was magic in the air🌈. I'm so happy for you. Much 💖 to both of you.
I love Lilac so much. My parents used to have 2 massive lilac trees in our old house garden. Everytime I find a Lilac tree, the smell brings back so much memories.

Dear Paola
I’m so thrilled that you’re making lilac icecream.
I honestly and sincerely hope that her new husband "Luke" realizes how unbelievably fortunate he is.
@@cackleberrycottage2340 Thats really admirable! Love is hard work.
I was so saddened to hear the sad news about Mr Darcy. My thoughts and love are with you.
That's amazing how the sun broke through the rain clouds, a hummingbird and rainbow all graced your wedding! It was magical just like your creative imagery of fairies, bunnies, and flowers. Your woodland fields of flowers and secret garden of your home just adds to the magic. Enjoy! jenny
How beautiful everything, Paola!! thank you
Congratulations! Nice to watch in the morning and relax to your soothing voice.
My Mum always said "mariage pluvieux, mariage heureux", (yes, I'm French), meaning: rainy wedding, happy marriage ! 💖💗💝
Looks to me like it couldn't have been more perfect 🐞🦋🐦🌧🌦☀️🌈
Wishing you lots of happiness 😍
I think we’re expecting some rain here next Saturday. Thankfully, my wedding is indoors, and we also have sayings about rain on a wedding day being lucky. 😊
You always remind me to be great ful for the most simple things in life and release all the clutter in my head
*Sun, rainbow, humming bird..*
*Why would they not bless a fairy like you? They came all the way to make your day magical.* 💙🌿🌸
You are truly a Earth Angel 😇 ❤️
Rain means abundance 💗🙌🏻 the sun after a rain is absolutly beautiful 😍
It sounds to me like your wedding day was perfect. How lovely to have rain, hummingbirds and rainbows!
Looking forward to ordering a copy of your book.
I love the message “let go and embrace”
🙏💜Y a mi!! 🤗
I can’t imagine being surrounded by so much natural beauty. I’m just in awe. 💕
Photos of your family are gorgeous.
Oh your family is beautiful. And how lovely for a hummingbird to drop in. They are gorgeous birds
It rained on my wedding too - and we are still happily married almost 35 years later. Maybe it is good luck xx
Congratulations on almost 35 years of marriage ♡♡♡ GOD BLESS Y'ALL ♡♡♡ Have The Most Amazing Beautiful Blessed Peaceful night ♡♡♡
Hello 👋 Paola I’m from Sri Lanka 🇱🇰
I began to watch your videos last week and I’m very happy to see the way you speak in the videos. You are very lucky to spend such a beautiful and fairly life with your partner. Congratulations 🥳 for your newly blessed life together
Hope you & Luke have a great future together in your new home. 🙂
Lots of love,
Christelle
This is so beautiful and wonderful your channel feeds my soul. Congratulations I wish you happiness forever ❤️🌻🌸🌼🌷🌹💐🌺
😘 Blessoings to you & Luke in your new married life 💐❤
Congratulations on 38 Wonderful years of marriage ♡♡♡ GOD BLESS Y'ALL ♡♡♡
Watching your videos is like stepping back in time! Life is better when we are in touch with our roots!
Hello Anita how are you doing today
Your watercolor reminded me of St. Melangell, a 7th century Irish saint who is the patron of small animals, especially rabbits. Icons of her often feature a rabbit in her arms.
I have started having cranberry hibiscus tea each day here in Bujumbura, Burundi. I just had a UTI, and found that this plant was in my side yard and could have really helped me to heal without medication! It has such a lovely taste and color. Thank you for the inspiration to look at plants differently!
Hi Joy how are you doing today
These flower fields are so gorgeous at your place 😯💚 And your paintings 😍
abonniert, lieben Gruß aus der Oberpfalz
@@RitaMI Liebe Grüße aus Bayern! 🤗
Thank you for sharing your beautiful wedding experience with all of us! We have seen unexpected rain during a couple springtime weddings at our chateau, but there is a simple French saying: “mariage pluvieux, mariage heureux!” (rainy wedding, happy wedding). The rain never washes away the collective joy and love that is shared that day 💕
Your ice cream looks delicious!
Your voice is calm, charming ..you are such an inspiration. Love to wath all your video .keep doing
Luke is one lucky man. I hope he makes you as happy as you make us.😍
I just gave birth to a baby girl 17 days ago and listening to your calm voice let’s her fall asleep so peacefully 💕
Congratulations on the birth of your baby Girl☆♡☆♡☆♡☆♡
@@gemmaavary4996 thank you so much. I’ve never been in love as much as I am now
Congrats😘
Best wishes and many blessings from the tropical island Asia!🌏🏝️
Hummingbirds are my most favorite bird also. Whenever there has been stress in my life, a hummingbird appears and helps take my stress away. Glad to know from one Paula to another you enjoy these tiny creatures who are truly magnificent! Congrats on your wedding. Hopefully you will share more pics!
Can't wait to read your book...everything you do is like magic! 🌸
Married is the beautiful thing you have in the life
Why we always looking for something to reach, if we are RICH inside, because we have all this beauty of the world! 💚 💚 💚
Así es Lina!! 🙏💜
Congrats on your recent wedding. I wish you all the best for a beautiful life together.
Love your art.
This channel is a little corner of happiness and peace on the Internet.
Our dear from other side coming to visit us in a form of birds or butterflies 🕊️🦋
That wasn't raining Paola it was a tears of joy from the heavens for both of you
Paola, you are such a lovely soul.
Hope you enjoy your married life forever!
Hummingbirds and rainbows seem like very auspicious blessings. Congratulations on your next chapter of life.
Wonderful your take on the wedding and being so rooted in the natural world. Best wishes as you both move forward!
Hello Hannah how are you doing today
I have never considered the concept “creativity of the moment”. I have learned to let go and not interfere in the present but never thought of accepting it with such grace. Thank you!
So happy for you Paola ❤
The little birds were a sign of the Divine that everything will be okay, Thank You for sharing with us I love watching everything that you do from cooking to gardening. And all the creative things in between.
You look very happy and at peace and I wish you all the best..
🕊P💝L🙏B
So beautiful, thank you for sharing your precious memories ❤️❤️
In my country (Slovenia) there is a saying about rain on the wedding day. It brings all kinds of blessings like luck, children, money, health and joy. So wedding day without a rain is a no go. And we had almpst the same as you. It was cloudy before the ceremony and after it the sky broke down on us and it was pouring... and it was really short but strong. Rainbow followed and sunshine 🌞 as well. Magical ❤
Your icecream looked wonderful! That is so exciting that you are writing/illustrating your own book!! I can hardly wait to read it. 💖
Paola, I just recently discovered your videos and I’m really enjoying them. You have a beautiful articulate speaking voice and such a calming presence. Congratulations on your recent wedding and your new home. I will be sure to continue to tune in to experience the serenity you share with your followers. 💗🌷💜
Hi Patty how are you doing
Ditto 😎 isn’t she the best?!
Where are you from?
In native culture hummingbirds are a symbol of joy! Sounds like you got a hummingbird blessing!
Thank you for your story, regarding your ceremony, and the message of embracing what comes!
Hello Shannon how are you doing today
Congratulations! You managed to make your wedding a beautiful story. I can just see it illustrated by you
Thank for show us your weddingphotos, beautiful
Hello 🤩 beautiful Paola. Enjoy married life, it's beautiful x
I think the rain and the rainbow and the hummingbird are special little signs from the universe and I love that you were able to embrace the unexpected
I honestly feel so grateful that we have you on this planet
When I watched her video the first time I wondered How beautifully she explained her own life and also what pleasant rural areas she has
I am addicted to every word that she speaks through her videos because everything that shows in her videos is just amazing I can't take my eyes off
I am from India and am watching not only for self-satisfaction but also for improving my communication skill
❤ from my heart
God will bless you
Very happy for you. All the best wishes and blessings for you two
Congratulations Paula and I wish you and your husband many, many, many, many, many years of happiness. You've been blessed by the hummingbird and the rainbow and I'm pretty sure there was magic in the air🌈. I'm so happy for you. Much 💖 to both of you.
Hello Laurence how are you doing today
Heartfelt congratulations to you guys! I wish you abundant heart, love, joy, peace and laughter always. ❤️
I love Lilac so much. My parents used to have 2 massive lilac trees in our old house garden. Everytime I find a Lilac tree, the smell brings back so much memories.
