A Gonk With A Purpose

- See how I came to be friends with Magnus Brewerson, defender of beer. A Viking gonk with a hidden stainless steel bottle stopper lurking inside ready to decapitate your chilled beverages. Anything with a crown cap claiming royal heritage he will have it's crown in an instant as any Viking invader would.

A great idea and excellent tutorial. Thanks for sharing the links too.
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for giving the various dimensions as you go. It is very helpful.
Always check the kit dimensions first as specifications can change and we cannot do a new video for minor spec changes.

Hi Jon...
That is such a cute little guy... and a great idea to put him to use as a bottle opener... it works really well...
I got some fur this week for making Gonks
I haven't got round to making my chess piece bottle opener yet. ... it's on my to do list...
Entertaining video as always...
Take care...All the best.....Andy
Thanks Andy - looking forward to see what you get up to.
Very nice
He looks great. He could be used as a pencil holder too.
Never heard the term "Gonk". I love it
It was originally a 1960's furry toy designed in London but has gone on to mean a little furry gnome-like figure.
That is one cute little guy. I have just one thing I want to add though. I have seen way too much violence in my lifetime and when I originally saw the sword and spear...I was reminded of a battle field. I'm sure others felt the same. That's probably not a plus.
How old are you that when you see a sword or spear your 1st thought is a battlefield and not World of Warcraft or Ever Quest ? Or Brave Heart, I mean, the Japanese used swords on rare occasion in WW2 as a last ditch effort, my Grandpa shared those stories with me but to be a world war 2 vet you would have to be nearly if not pushing past 100
Definitely agree that things need some purpose. Having said that I'm thinking small gonks on a chain for key rings or handbag decorations. Any thoughts on that Jon?
This little fella is about 120mm tall and I found it quite fiddly - best of luck with a keyring! Or maybe make a big keyring and drive a Unimog!
Love the idea. I am across the pond in the great country of Texas… do you know where I can get the bottle opener kit in the USA?
I'm afraid we only ship from the UK but we do send to the USA regularly
In Kansas, was thinking the same thing. Really cool project.
