I agree with Matt 100%. I healed from long covid by understanding the polyvgaal theory and also using the mind body connection. I tried a million things and nothing worked until I found the above things. Thank you for continuing to put this stuff out there for others to heal.
I'm so happy to hear that! That's simply wonderful that you recovered from Long Covid through the mind-body connection and Polyvagal Theory. It's the way to go! Enjoy your wellbeing and thanks for your kind note!
Hey Rob I started my recovery copying your formula and then tweaked it as time went on. This last week I have gone for 5 walks (8 minutes each and one for 16 minutes) out to lunch with my wife (first time since getting sick 6 months ago), and just drove myself to the eye doctor yesterday! These were all relatively difficult, but the improvement has been substantial over the last two months! That said, I am curious when the fatigue and uncomfortable sensations will start to go away? Am I going to be up to 30 minute walks and still feeling symptoms? How does the next stage play out? I feel like this is great progress, but still physically feel lousy most days.
@@Jackson_Hts_Mr_Randy_Watson Oh man! Congrats!! celebrate the small wins. I think many people get "stuck" in recovery because they are afraid of bringing symptoms to the surface. This story is impressively similar to mine. Having all those symptoms, I was also told I have EBV right after I got reinfected with covid, and never made sense to me. After my first crash, I got better through meditations, affirmations, swimming in the sea and Wim Hof's cool showers. After a month of feeling so much better, I had another crash which made me realise that I need to work on releasing trauma in my body and on brain retraining as my brain was still very sensitive to even small, subconscious stressors, and dramas. You talking about past traumas just made me face how much I have avoided facing up to my own stuff. I started the curable work but I basically denied I had any trauma - I barely looked back at the horrible ugly moments in my past & told myself it was all forgiven & forgotten so not worth writing down. But to hear you, a man and a Christian, admitting to hurts makes me realize that I’m lying to myself & there’s a ton of trauma I’ve stuffed. Thank You for this interview!

We can work with that energy in the body through somatic tracking or expressive writing. You're welcome Laurie! Yes, the vaccine can be a trigger for some people. You also want to look at what other life stressors you were facing at the time of the vaccine.
I watched this video 6 weeks ago and perhaps my brain wasn't ready to accept the ideas. Today I found it again after following a very similar series of events to Matt and I'm starting to properly implement brain retraining and somatic meditation techniques with actual belief. I experience sharp chest pains that the doctors have ruled out as being anything serious. When I do somatic meditations, the pain reaches a 10/10 and my palms start sweating. I've done this for 3 days in a row and managed to keep myself somewhat calm by telling myself I'm safe over and over. However, I'm creating extra anxiety around the symptoms as (somewhat like a PTSD response!) I expose myself to them more rather than try to ignore/distract as I did before. Am I onto something and this is expected or should I hold back a bit to avoid overstimulating? Thanks so much for your amazing videos.
Great questions Joe and I'm really glad you asked this. We never want to bring on panic or extreme sensations as that can cause a retraumatizing experience. For a corrective experience, we need to be exposed to the sensations or stimuli without anxiety or fear, to retrain our brain that it's safe. It's best to use somatic tracking when the sensations are between a 1 - 4 (5 tops). When sensations are higher or spike fear, do a soothing activity instead. You can try breath work with an extended exhale or orienting (I have a video on orienting) or something pleasurable. Does that makes sense? I'll teach all the nuances of this in my upcoming course Be Your Own Medicine! www.rebeccatolin.com/course
