Brian, I can’t thank you enough for your work editing and presenting these video’s. My wife and I have watched all your trips numerous times are planning to mimic your Cowboy ride this year, probably in August or September (2021). I’m in my 70’s and my wife is 69. I have a conventional gravel bike and she has an e-bike. There’s the rub as we need to be able to find somewhere with a electric or a motel each evening we are on the road. I was’t sure if you published any of the particulars of you trip that folks could access...I.e. campgrounds with electric, motels along the route and must see’s beyond what you point out in the series. We’ve begun laying out the route with ideas on where to eat and stay along the way. 40-50 a day is about our max when loaded down.
Thanks again for your dedication to the sport. Hope to hear back from you. Looking forward to even more of you adventures and us creating some of our own as well. Dan and Lyn Dudley....Indiana

Thanks for watching! That sounds like a great way to travel for a bike tour. Most of the larger cities had parks in them with electricity hookups for rv’s which would be perfect for charging the ebike. There are some b&b’s too along with hotels, but almost every town park we camped in had electricity. Your best best is to setup the mileage on a map and checkout the city website or I sometimes use google maps and the satellite view to identify camping looking for the little gravel driveways for rvs. I have a link also to my ride with gps routes which may help line them up. The further west we went however the more scarce resources were. I am have done some local ebike touring and found that non camping city parks also make a great place to charge ebike a during the day of that helps. Again thanks for watching and safe travels!

Having lived much of my life in Nebraska and South Dakota I have been to all of the spots you passed on your bike excursion. Congratulations on the trip and well done on the video documentation. I watched the whole series. Good thing you did it in 2019, 2020 may have been a bit more challenging due to covid limitations and uncertainties. In late August I was in the Black Hills to fish. Fishing was a bust due to the extremely hot weather. Fortunately, I had taken my bike along and had an opportunity to explore the Mickelson Trail. I rode most of the northern part pretty much the part of the trail north of where you peeled off to Rapid City. It was fantastic. Remote, streams, trees and the train tunnels - which I really enjoyed. So yes! You should go back and experience that part of the ride. Thanks for posting - I do appreciate the effort of the ride and the extraordinary time to edit and produce the video series.

Hi, I saw your post on Reddit a couple months ago and just finished watching this entire series. I’m thinking about doing this route and watching your videos was great. The videos themself are well done but I really appreciated all the logistical information you provided as I’ve never been out there and it’s one thing to look at google maps but it’s a better thing to have a guy with a camera pointing out the showers in a park. As your 500th subscriber I’d like to thank you for this. Take care.

Awesome! Thanks for watching and congratulations on being the 500th subscriber! :) Good to know that the information is helpful. That is one of the reasons I make these videos. I tend to use other videos as resources too. I hope you have a great trip and safe travels!

Hello Brian, from Cadillac, Michigan. I thoroughly enjoy your videos. Especially this adventure across Nebraska to the Mickelson Trail. The portion from Merriman on to Hot Springs was the same path I followed on my coast to coast journey in 2014. It was fun to see all of that again and to hear your comments. I went through there at the same time of year you did. I have a question for you. I see you're using an action cam. What do you do about editing at the end of the day? Are you carrying a laptop on your adventures or tablet? I have editing on my lap top but am thinking something smaller would be nice. Thanks again for your videos. Always fun to watch. Tailwinds!! Bob

So cool! I have been saving all the video and editing when I get back home. Most of my trips are only a week or so long. It’s kinda fun to relive the trip putting the videos together a few weeks after the trip. If I was on a month long trip I would probably edit in the field
