I learned way more at Crazy Horse then Mt Rushmore. But I get that feeling of patriotism about our country and all who served it for us! Cilla I love your heart!
We went to Crazy Horse as well but we didn’t make a big deal of it because I couldn’t handle pretending like I liked it. When we went there were white people selling Native American goods. I don’t know that we saw a single person in there that wasn’t white. It seemed odd to me so I Googled the monument and it’s history. Basically a white family has gotten wealthy off of a monument that hasn’t had any measurable work done in 24 years. The icing on the cake was that they were raffling off an Indian motorcycle in the lobby. I’m sure there’s a lot to learn there but it just came across as a money pit.
Cilla, I didn't cry at Mount Rushmore, but only because, I was afraid to miss something. It is so majestic. And I am not even American. 🇺🇲 I am Danish. 🇩🇰

Pricilla, I get it. It is on my list of things to see. To me, it’s not just patriotic, but it represents the best of our country’s founding fathers. I love that you all went to Crazy Horse too. I can’t wait to see it finished. It’s an impressive monument. So far all locks right with the family. You all are having an amazing time together. It’ll be fun to see you all do this regularly, maybe spend more time in an area. I grew up hiking, backpacking, camping, canoeing and skiing in those mountains on the west coast. I hope you all manage to stay in a few National Parks. Yosemite will blow your mind. Don’t stay in the valley, go up. The further you go up, the more you’ll see the monuments up close. Asa and Isaiah will love getting up close to Half Dome, El Capitan and Glacier Point. Don’t forget Bridalveil Fall and Tuollumne Meadows and make a reservation to eat at the Ahwahnee Yosemite Dining Room. Enjoy Wyoming, you all will understand why it’s called God’s Country.

I loved this video. It brought me back to my childhood. I lived in the Black Hills for my elementary school years. I haven't been back since I was 15. It really makes me want to go back and visit and share it with my husband and 11 month old daughter. I went to Mt. Rushmore so many times as a kid that it lost a bit of its magic. Seeing Priscilla's reaction to seeing it made me think how amazing it really is. Crazy Horse looks so different from when I was a kid. I lived 10 minutes from there and went to school with the grandkids of the man who started that project. I loved going there and seeing the progress they've made since I last saw it is crazy.
Hope you went to Custer State park, loads of wildlife. Also Needles highway is so awesome. Just a tip, we got a decorative door grate to protect our screen door on the bottom to help keep dogs and people pushing through the door. We found ours at camping world. No biggy if you don't want that. Love your channel.

I totally understand Priscilla. When we arrived Mt Rushmore was in the fog. I told my family that we weren't leaving until I saw the sunshine on the Presidents. We walked the trails up to the mountain. It was incredible. Happy you got to check it off your bucket list.
That hammock was a fantastic idea for camping and even at home when my family needs that time being comforted. I am on Amazon to get multiple ones to see which is the perfect fit for my picky family.

I have an Aunt an Uncle that live in SD and everytime we visit Mt. Rushmore is a for sure place to visit while were there. Also I would love to go see Bear Mountain again. Ive been there once as a kid and once as an adult.
I love stuff like this too Priscilla!! You guys should definitely travel to Colorado!! OMG it’s such a beautiful, amazing place, you’ll never want to leave I promise!! You can visit Pikes Peak, Garden of the Gods, Buffalo Bill’s grave, Rocky Mountain National Park, Great Sand Dunes National Park & Preserve, Royal Gorge Bridge (you walk across this huge bridge across the valley and across the Arkansas River. They have all the state flags on the bridge) Colorado National Monument, you can walk up 200 some steps to the top of the mountain and see goats standing right at the edge of the mountain, they also had a Christmas town where you could actually go feed real reindeer. So many possibilities in Colorado. This is my dream place to move!!
It's OK Priscilla. I was two weeks old when I first went to Mount Rushmore but then it took me 40 years too to go back and see it. I thought it was pretty cool myself and I would absolutely go back and see it again.
Life long dreams fulfilled is no joke....Worked 42 yrs at U.S. Steel...Spent alot of those yrs divorced , single...Never went much of anywhere except up to Lake Tahoe to ski...Everyone going on major trips somewhere, i went to Tahoe...So when i retired my lifelong dream was to start motorhoming and see the things i never saw...Am also a big blues fan so silly me, one of my main bucketlisters was to go to Memphis Tenn. to Beal st and BB Kings....IT HAPPENED...Walked into the place with the new wife, was there about 10 min and i just couldnt help it...Started balling like a baby because at that moment, all those yrs became more than worth it to me...It was just a simple little thing , but it meant the world to me...
I had the same reaction when we went to Chincoteague to see the wild ponies. My daughter laughed at me but not to make fun. This is in my bucket list also.
My lifelong dream to see was the Pearl Harbor Memorial and I got to see it abt 6 years ago and I cried and it was amazing and emotional! I feel ya on this one, Cilla!
My husband and i would to take a road trip, like you are doin. . But not in a RV. We are in our 70s. We took care of my mom for 10 years and unable to do anything. Almost 24 hour care with care givers we brought her home for 4 months till she passed. Then COVID CAME upon us. We want to start doing things as long as we can. We have a houseboat, which you should try . We are in Fresno California, weather really hot here now. Yea…. A grocery run, I love to go grocery shopping, we have done a lot of ordering on line, so much excitement when the mail comes. Still do not go out to malls. Love you bunches bless you and your family

My husband and his brothers planned a trip from Oregon to the grand canyon and Mt Rushmore they also wanted to see crazy horse too. My heart is heavy watching you travel because this was supposed to be a brothers final hurrah together My brother inlaw the oldest of the three was ill. Sadly he died the day they were going to leave today was his farewell. 💔💔 on the other hand it's so great seeing Ab get to travel and vacation with you gives me a want to try this with my son whom is disabled and struggles to be entertained makes me wonder how he'd do!! YES! Fleet Farm! One of my favorites. May I recommend you visit us in Minnesota on your next trip? Land of lakes, Paul Bunyan, birth place of Prince, Mall of America and way up, north of the St. Paul are the headwaters of the Mississippi River at Lake Itasca and so much more. Summer is nice, but fall is beautiful with the changing of the leaves.
The other 2 you should read up on… Roosevelt had a lot to do with our National Parks, etc… (I’m sure you know) But truly have value in their own right…
