My long-distance e-Bike tour from Indiana to Boston, Massachusetts. This was all filmed on my iPhone 12 as the GoPro died the previous day. Route: ridewithgps.com/routes/43237806
I've had that iPhone issue happen too! Glad you got it worked out. (If anyone is curious: Press and quickly release the volume up button. Press and quickly release the volume down button. Press and hold the side button. When the Apple logo appears, release the side button.)
i appreciate your thinking ahead regarding were you plan to charge next. That was a major concern of mine when i did my electric bike trip thru the same area. I have grown to consider you a guru on Ebilke touring at this point. Look like 80 to 100 miles per day is an optimum rate if you heave the battery and motor to do it. being able to take on 300 to 400 watt hours per hour during a lunch stops seems key.
Dude, you are a BEAST!! 100+ miles in a day for consecutive days??? Mad respect! I admire you guys who do the touring and backpacking. I'm not into camping so I'd stay in hotels abnd another issue is I'd just not safe for me to travel alone. Anyway, I enjoy your videos and keep biking!!! 🚴🏿♀️
I had the same thing happen to me with my last phone... that weird sequence of the volume and power buttons seems like it shouldn't work, but glad it does!
What a journey. Quite inspiring Brian ! I hope to do a ride from Pittsburgh to DC next year. Your videos are helping to motivate me. It would be my first overnight trip. Thanks.
Glad your BBS02 didn't overheat, basically lifting heavy cargo, rider and bike 6500 ft ↑. I wonder if you could do something like Denver to Salt Lake City with 6700 ft of *continuous* climbing over Loveland Pass😃 The steepest, longest I did with my BBSHD was 15%, 2mi and the motor casing got very hot.
Question - what was your gearing? I’m running a (Luna) 42 tooth front, and a 42-13 tooth 9 speed cassette - and the front is on a BBS-HD, 52 volt nominal battery…. Bad hills want bottom gear on mine, but only on really steep hills does it struggle at all.
I've got to hand it to you, Brian, and other touring cyclists who push on despite confronting inclement weather. 🤜🤛 BTW, so the ol' GoPro finally bit the dust! Well, you had a long, albeit conflictual, relationship with it so I'm sure you're thinking, "good riddance!" 🙂 Time for that DJI Osmo Action 3 or 4? I watched a very good comparison video on them and the 4 has the nicer/larger sensor and a special low-light setting (which is awesome, BTW), but the mics are pretty comparable as is the quality of videos with the 4 edging out the 3, but not in all situations, IMO.
I knew you would make it to Mass. Will you make it to Boston? Just kidding, we have all the confidence in you! The views @ 5:23 were spectacular and we appreciate you sharing them with us. I don't ride an ebike, but I'm sure some of your viewers that do would like to know, are most establishments okay with you using their electricity to charge your bike? (13:40)
He’s spoken of it being self-constructed, especially the battery. I’m rather doubting one can purchase a suitable bike for this kind of work, and it would be prohibitive if one could. Building up this kind of bike *isn’t* cheap. I’ve built two (somewhat) similar ones, and my investment, especially on bike #2, was ~ 3.5k or so. (#1 was stolen in March 2021. It too wasn’t cheap. Still working on upgrading/improving #2 - need to upgrade the 31.5 amp hour battery to ~45-50 amp hours, which means a further investment in tools as well as materials and supplies.)
Those Mountains 🏔️ look Amazing And very very very Cool 😎 To, My Friend.
Your Dad created a Bike monster didn't He 😅...im sure he's proud of you 👍
42 mph!?!? That's no joke on a bike. I bet that had your full attention

Great video of Day 9 of your tour to Boston. Thanks for sharing this with us :)
Brian you have earned a good nights sleep! Sleep well and stay safe. 😊
Another GREAT video Brian...really enjoyed coming along for this trip.😃
Another good section and some beautiful scenery. Thanks for the video and take care. Al

Sweet! Learning so much from you in preps for my x-country trip.

Saw the podcast 😊
Bathrooms are possible for power, but they take some looking to find…

I'm pretty sure 42 mph on an ebike is escape velocity. You're lucky you didn't end up camping at the International Space Station.
Wow, great adventure on the e-bike! One day I’d love to plan an overnight bike packing trip. What type of ebike were you riding?

Hows your motor holding up ?
what kind of handlebars are those
Jones bars. Have looked at those - somewhat expensive… best to make sure they’ll work for you, otherwise it’s a gamble.
