Now that is a flavor (and nutrient) packed burger! Wow. I’ll leave the dairy off. Love how easy they are. I am making these tomorrow! Thanks for the great recipe.
I must admit I wondered what the mango was doing in there but I went with it (I trust you Jamie) and it really works! This is a cracking recipe, definitely follow the advice of not pureeing the beans to much! 👍
I really love, that Jamie goes more and more into meat free deliciousness! I used to be a massive meat eater. Now I know, I have been missing out, because there are so much more incredible flavors out there … 😀
"It's not trying to be meat. It's a beautiful black bean patty" That's it right there!! Not all vegans are "trying to be" anything. Some are, but who cares.
I've been vegetarian for nearly 40 years - not especially into burgers of any kind (can't do gluten either), but I was always on the look out for some nice one-piece (not spoonfulls) of meat substitutes. I also don't but semi-prepared stuff - both me and my 2 daughters are allergic to all kinds, so no matter what they put on the pack, the semi-prepared foods always have some beasties lurking around the "flavourings" stuff. your idea with both mushrooms AND black beans fitted nicely into my idea of meat-substitute! we don't like mango so we used peaches, and also, I didn't serve it on a bun, but nest to some nice yellow rice and yoghurt dressed salsa! the peaches and avocado went into the salsa as well. it was fantastic!! delicious, filling, soul-satisfying!! I'll definitely make it again!! thanks for sharing!!
@@debiriley895 I used my own lentil bread - the recipe is from here on youTube. I don't remember which one I use, but there are tons, maybe even better ones. and in a pinch, when I don't have any bread ready, I use soaked -not steamed, nor boiled - lentils. you can also use flax-meal, chia-meal, lentil flour... I can't tell you upfront how much to use. watch carefully what consistency the dough jamie makes has, and try to imitate it. keep in mind that flax meal, and even more chia meal, soak even more water with time. good luck!
Not a big mushroom fan either. But if you mince it up in a food processor, maybe use chestnut mushrooms, I find I don't mind them at all. I use them that way in vegan bolognese sauce for lasagne for example.
I love your recipes btw, particularly as a vegetarian trying to make wholesome meals for those around me on a very restricted budget (yes I work full time) and you've inspired me in so many ways. And your advice works! All kudos to you. But when you say 'get yourself a food processor' my heart sinks. We can't afford the equipment Jamie. Many of us can't. Sorry :( Please give an alternative. I totally realise btw you won't read this comment but just felt the need to put it out there.
Hand blenders (also called stick or immersion blenders) are very affordable and could do the same job. Some come with a chopping option, or a small container that you can blend straight into. There are also mini food processors that are very cheap. Good luck!!
Just cross crop it with a knife. Or you can get a hand blender, they cost about £4 on Amazon. Electric food processors start at around £20, so they're not crazy expensive.
I love vege burgers . You dont need to put any bread in , yuck 😆🥴🤦 IT can be fine perfectly fine with just beens , and tiny add of e.g non wheat flaur.
Swear to him above. Jamie Oliver is the only chef to over complicate every recipe. Who starts a bean burger recipe with Chanterelle and Shitake mushrooms!! and then follows rye bread...Flip sake. Every recipe he has is just a pinch of something which takes a trip to some local deli/ specialist shop in London.
Black Bean Burgers cost about a buck to either make or buy, unlike most food which is a LOT cheaper to make yourself. I could see why you might have those crappy Don Lee pieces of mushy garbage but the Morning Star ones with chipotle are good and they stay firm. I like the idea if salsa and/or mango but the avocado is a dumb as adding peas to a Carbonara. I would say that is Jamie's biggest problem, he adds crap that does not belong. If I ever got one of his books I would have to get sharpie pen to cross out stuff throughout the book and you know he use cream in his Carbonara since he cooks the eggs.
@@adamspain9324mushrooms can be insanely expensive outside of Europe. I hope for a recipe that manages to make the beans into a workable burger without a pricey ingredient.
You can try just mashing the beans with a fork and adding some finely grated onion and garlic maybe.. Cover in bread crumbs and then fry or something. I also don't own a food processor so it's been an issue finding a nice method.
Best, easiest black bean burger I have seen. Jamie makes cooking so accessible and so good 😊
Thanks Jamie Oliver, your burger video really bounced some positiveity into a grey cold day

Stunning. I love the freshness. I'll have to give these a go. Thank you Jamie.
The MANGO!!! Wow. What a touch!
Thank you for sharing your knowledge and expertise! 🤗
Looks so good. So many amazing flavours coming together. Beautiful 😋
I’m not even a veggie but I’m definitely trying this 👍🏻

Looks 😋.I will make them burgers for my kids soon
I haven’t made these but but have been experimenting with black bean burgers and I can honestly say I prefer them to meat versions.

Looks delicious! I will totally try it sometimes on my channel!
What a great idea!
er, I always have a case of black beans around, but I use dried one for some recipes. Cannellini beans are the only white bean worth using.
Best cooking videos 😊❤

I can't believe people are so negative. It looks delicious!!!
I wouldn’t put mango with wild mushrooms also there’s more mushrooms in it and black beans.
Wow! Loved it! 🎉🎉🎉

Good job jamie❤
This was great. Did the patties. Adjusted the burger content some. No Mangos in Denmark in may apparently. Recommend!
That looks ABSOLUTELY amazing!!!
Delicious. Cost efficient. Lots of fibre. Cruelty free. Well done Jamie!
Amazing 😍

AWESOME!!!
My man! How good is that? Cheers m’dears x
Yummy 😋😋😋😋😋😋
Love it!!
This recipe seems so interesting
I think I'd eat this, but add a runny fried egg on it. That's the vibe I'm getting from this😂😂😂

Nice 😋😋

can anyone tell me if I could freeze the paste? Or freeze it after cooking? Thank you for your help
Cooked burgers freeze well. I don't know about freezing the mix, though.
Amazing maa negga
Jamie, I really hate mushrooms, can you suggest a replacement for those?😊

What knife does he use???
That looks almost good enough to eat
Yum
Please make mine with mild Mango pickle instead of fresh Mango slices
Nice!
🥰😍🥰🥰😍🥰🥰😍
That burger looks like anxiety and depression
Rather use black beans from the garden
aint no black beans in gardens, lmao you buy them them in the store.

avocado and mango on a burger is beyond weird

All that is needed is beef!
Arr mushrooms as some say they are a space penis! but hay I'm not a carrot cruncher.
😋😋😋🌷🌷
What's with those voiceovers?
Cheese looks like oily snot, sorry but true, ...
🎉❤
Nutritional-wise.. give me a bean burger when I've not been physically active and give me a beef burger when I have been physically active.
Yes, LIME, not lemon, bonus points, but no Ancho??
Believe me, that burger tastes like sand. Everything around it: delicious. But that burger simply is not a burger.
Beurk !
Not really a burger. It's rather a salad in buns 😂

“Anyone can do this”….then uses mushrooms you’ve never heard of and a food processor (not everyone owns one)
Do you want him not to use salt, pepper and pots/pans too?

Cheddar melts poorly, lots of netter choices.
Wrong OPEN the buns for toasting, even McD is better than you with their buns !! Minus more points, Haiyah!
