You are absolutely right about gym people. Some newcomers may be intimidated by them, but they are always very nice and more than willing to help. No intimidated feelings necessary if you are new to the gym space!
Training to failure is good, but you're right that it increases recovery time. Higher intensity, longer recovery, faster growth. The key is to allow yourself the recovery.
My main advice I would give to gym noobs is START NOW. Especially now that we are in late October. Don't wait for New Years to start. If you begin now, you're going to be 2 months into the game by the time Jan 1 comes around.
i have insane anxiety i dont even go outside for a walk i just put my phone on a lock that i cant be on it i constantly compare myself and i feel ugly and it just makes me cry im not fat but i would love to get healthier going to the gym is not in my sight rn i feel watched when i go outside i hate going outside and i dont know how to fix that i do go outside for walks at night every now and than
Great video as always. Almost done with my first year hitting the gym. Just moved from a full-body training schedule 3-days a week to a push/pull/leg split. All your videos were really useful in keeping me motivated. Love what you say: give yourself 2 years instead of focusing on reaching results in a way shorter time frame. (like most of all these fitness TH-camrs tell you)
I think the best thing about the gym is that most everyone is supportive. It's a place where everyone in there is on their own fitness journey and the goal is different for everybody. So it's a really comforting place for me since it doesn't matter if you're just starting out or sustaining, we're all in there to better our physical health. Great vid as always 👍
I was in that rare pool where a group of guys bullied me off of a machine, since I am 5’6 and they were all taller than me, they literally stood in my face and behind me and said it’s their turn. I was only on my second set. It made me not want to go back 😭
I haven't done cardio since your other video. Its probably been 3-4 months since and most I'll probably do is just a 5 minute cool down walk on the treadmill before I head home. I'm seeing progress though. Thanks for the advice! 💯
What i needed today. Currently in a burnout stage from being in the gym 5-6 times a week 1 1/2 per session. I recently got sick starting from a fatigue and was not able to workout for a week. After that i listened to my body more and try to limit myself 5 times in the gym with breaks in between for recovery. Also, one toxic thing for me lately is closing out my rings on my Apple watch perfectly eeek by week. Any thoughts on this?
re-watching this 4 months after starting the gym, and getting burned out for about half of it, feels soo different! i did exactly the opposite what i knew i should do 😭😭
Mr wanhee im lost im 16 and I weigh 168 pounds I dont want to go to the gym and just want to work at home, I have no idea on how to work out What should I do and what should I learn?
Hi! May i ask if you can make a video about how you track your fitness progress? What did your notebook look like when you first began logging your workouts, weight, water intake etc.? What did you log as well? Thank you so much for all your videos btw! I’ve been keeping up with your posts regularly since the beginning of last year and have learned so much ☺️

Great video, just found you, and just getting back into gym after REDACTED restarts. Good to have a guide to start with.

Best places to workout in Seoul? You mentioned to me before you go to 공용 운동시설… any other places I should check out?
Hi Wanhee, quality looks amazing. Really liking the new setup also. Curious to know the setup details. Thanks.

Agreed, seen too many people fall due to this.
love your content wanhee. does the bar at 7:06 go through the guy´s head, like wtf? 🤣
I saw that too. There is something so poetic about it. 😆
AI generated so it's a bit wierd
@@cindylouwhoknew absolutely poetic that is, albeit unintentionally so
@@vikrantborse8762 super weird man, for instance the bro has a thumb and 5 extra fingers ^^ ai still struggles with these details
About cardio. For me I realised it’s better to do cardio before leg workout. Other way I choke at squats.
Stretch before you squat?
Always nice editing … 👍🏼
