    im always struggling to decipher motorcyle reviews
    "the way it delivers the power is good....for a twin"
    "the brakes get the job done"
    "suspension feels pretty good for a bike this size"
    "build quality is good in most places"
    "decently user friendly"
    WHAT DOES THAT MEAN

    Another great review. The SP looks amazing. For people who ask what's the point of the Hypermotards - well brillaint on twisty backroads and excellent in cities. So for me...live in London, so can use it around town and then get out of town quickly and rip around quieter roads. Strap a Kriega bag on the pillion seat and you have a lightweight tourer - but would add a small screen for that. I think it's the Ohlins that makes the real difference. I have ridden Ducatis back-to-back, one with standard, (but very good suspension) and the other with Ohlins. The Ohlins feels amazing, like semi-active suspension, but without all the electronics to go wrong. (Had a bike with semi-active suspension, which went wrong. Under warranty, luckily.) Only way to describe Ohins is firm & plush - a contradiction - but they manage to achieve it. On bumpy off camber British roads it just inspires huge confidence, you can really feel the tyres working and gripping.

    To all you who say it’s too expensive I completely understand.
    But it’s a status symbol. It’s a little much to buy a Lamborghini if you just need four wheels and a seat.
    But your vehicle says something about you and your passion for Italian motorcycles.

    its not a pissing contest to see whos exhaust is louder.. The Termi' is the way to go! built and designed around the ducati for decades and it looks like it belongs there!!

  • @patrickhd34
    @patrickhd34 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Ok, so back to reality...the quickshifter upgrade on the standard model is approx £600, that's too much. Review is right, an 11k bike should have that as standard. The same upgrade on a Monster is £250. Plus the price difference between the two models should be no more than 1.5k, not 3k. So, might be an idea to wait a year and get a low mileage used or a demo bike for a lot less. Even at the end of the season should be able to get a new bike sitting in a dealership at a good discount. Got my Monster new from a dealer in October last year. It was sitting there and the colder weather was coming - £700 off - 3% APR finance deal. Really love it.

  • @GaryJohnWalker1
    @GaryJohnWalker1 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    That high price for both, the SP is way to high, and the big step up to the SP ruins both imo. Should be more like Triumph pricing with a fairly good well under 10K standard model. And for "only" 1-1.5k more you get all the good stuff of the SP. But doubt Ducati expect to sell many of these in the UK, so price for those who really, really want one,

    198kg wet(ducati's way of specify the wet weight) is waaaaay too much still. They need the Hypermotard to be below the 190kg wet(kerb weight) mark not just a smudge below the 200kg mark.

      Hey, Rob! That's a fair comparison only on paper. Having owned both the FZ-07 as well currently a Gen 1 Hypermotard 1100S, the biggest weakness of the FZ was the budget suspension. Which even with aftermarket upgrades (race tech gold valves and fork springs, ohlins shock), was severely limited compared to the Hyper (stock suspension). If you are in the States, Gen 1& Gen 2 Hypers go for US$5~6K on the used market...which isn't too far off from the FZ. Highly recommend you to check it out if the opportunity presents itself~

Electrical problem which they can’t find where it from. And i met so many others customers in the waiting room with the same problem. Beautiful bike BUT a bike you don’t trust is not fun. Sometime start. Sometime not.... i’am afraid to do long trip because the poor level of reliability of this bike. In 2014 i read that ducati were more reliable so i bought one. but it doesn’t. THIS IS NOT TRUE AT ALL. Don’t buy a bike you don’t trust! I had many honda and yamaha and never had problems. It’s the first and last Ducati bike i will buy. That way buyers are either just prestige with no actual use and sklizz . Look out for them posers they are also a danger factor getting carried away lacking abilityes. What else ? Oy yes ! From the optical perspective this bike now has lost its sex appeal starts to look to technical and boring . Ill stick with the 2018 model . And ride one until i can plenty of fun .
