    That bike made me have a huge smile when I tested. Went and bought the RVE and certainly a keeper in my garage. Ducati made a great fun bike. Certainly not for long journeys but what a weekend toy.

    I had the pleasure of owning one of these back in the day, the S version with the air cooled 1100 engine. What a fun bike! Always on one wheel or the other, constantly entertaining. And the sound was superb. These are a great urban standard/hooligan bike. I’d love to ride a new one! They seem faithful to the formula, for sure.

    Nice to get your opinion on this bike mate. I've owned a Hyper 939 SP for over 2 years now and I just love the damn thing. Not the most comfy ride (even though I've done the NC500 on it) but so much character. Especially when it breaks down under you.

    Had my 2020 SP for two years now, the quickshifter is slick as goose shit if you're actually having a go, it requires throttle to be closed to downshift.
    The engine feels best at 6-8k, rather than idling it around the back lanes.
    Setting the suspension for your weight makes all the difference. You need more sag than a sports bike (50-60mm) and the ride is plush while the handling remains sharp. Just got back from a 1500km journey over 5 days and not saddlesore.
    You are right though, it's an absolute hoot to ride anywhere but on a freeway

    Great review! I've had one of these for over a year now and unless you're giving it beans, the gearbox is a little clunky. Just needs HOONED everywhere!!

I know how L twins are supposed to sound through Ducatis I see on the road but looking up the SV's sound on the internet sounds a bit too mellow and wimpy. I get up to 150 miles on a tank. Fuel light comes on with about 25 miles left in the tank. With a heavy clutch I'm more than happy to stop for fuel as my fingers need a rest after 100 miles.

  • @NeonLuvBar
    @NeonLuvBar ปีที่แล้ว

    I've got the sport seat which is 20mm lower. I can flat-foot with my 32 inch inside leg. Fuel tank size isn't an issue (150 mile range), as after 100 miles your clutch hand is ready for a rest.

    • @EfferusZangetsu
      @EfferusZangetsu ปีที่แล้ว

      Why would your clutch hand need a rest? It has an up and down QS. I tested the SP version and the QS worked flawlessly.

    • @NeonLuvBar
      @NeonLuvBar ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@EfferusZangetsu You still use the clutch, especially in low speed riding in the city. It isn't an automatic. On my RVE I didn't use the QS while running it in (first service today), and I have Evotech short levers which are great, but require a bit more strength to operate. Combined with the Sport seat, which is harder than standard, both my hand and arse are ready for a break after 100 miles, so that's why the 150 mile tank range doesn't bother me.

    • @EfferusZangetsu
      @EfferusZangetsu ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@NeonLuvBar I ride such short stints in the city that I always forget to take it into account. Yeah, unless you have an assisted clutch it gets tiresome real fast. Aside from them clutch, how is it to ride at low speeds for longer periods? Is it too jerky?

    • @NeonLuvBar
      @NeonLuvBar ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@EfferusZangetsu No it's not jerky at all. With the relatively low weight, upright riding position and being well balanced, it's a joy to ride in the city, even when traffic is moving at a crawl. Today when my bike was being serviced, I took out a DesertX and while it was great on the open road, in town it was a bit of a handful with more weight up top.

    I tries it during the Ducati event last year. Bike looks really cool but riding it was not enjoyable. Sitting position was strange and uncomfortable. It also felt very notchy.
