What a lovely sound that L twin makes. Straight 4’s, V4’s, triples, parallel twins, singles, however good electric bikes become, nothing can replace the sound of a bike engine. Great bike Chops 👍🏻
I always think this bike is more of a competitor for the MT09 rather than the likes of street triple. After owning an MT09 is definitely hypermotard-esque
Have been looking to pick up a Hyper, and sifting through all the YT videos about it. Stumbled on your channel, and this video. One of the best videos I've seen about the bike. You have multiple camera angles (good angles too), you have your audio sorted out, share a lot of good information, and are genuinely entertaining to watch. Nice job man! As a small YT'er myself (cars and bikes), I realize how much effort that takes. Gained a sub, keep it up! -Fred
Got one, did have the previous 939SP, but that one did let me down BIG time. PXed for a SDR2. But although I couldn’t fault the SDR, I never really gelled with it , so when the 950SP came out even though I had a bad experience with the previous 939, I swapped back to the 950, as everything I thought could/should be improved Ducati did. Happy days 😁
Really nice review! Enjoying your content very much. Picked up one of these last spring and it remains one of my very favorite bikes of life. As you identified, the throttle mapping is just so perfect. Add great braking and an awesome chassis and its just so controllable. Let’s you be an idiot while feeling completely confident. Just such a good bike. I almost didn’t try it out after being so disappointed in the 939 version. Very happy I did.
I've been looking for one of these for ages... not much of a V2 fan, till I testrode this... did I like it? Phhh... mine is arriving to the dealership in October at the latest. Brilliant review MrChops, thank you for sugesting the perfect Ducati for me.
I currently own my second 939 SP and not sure they deserve the criticism. I've never had any serious issues with either however the 939 does miss a few shifts per every ride. Would be interesting to see if thats improved on the 950. I could see myself upgrading to a 950 at some point in the new year.
The 1100 was savage. 75 ft lbs! Nothing like the jingle jingle of and open, dry clutch. I went and looked at one of these and now I just want to find a good used 08.
Nice vid as usual 'Chops! The first ever Ducati I road was the original 1100 Hypermotard when it first came out - and fell in love with it straight away - what a bike! Sounds like this (in SP guise at least) is getting close to what that was like....
Look at the state of those roads 🌧! Choppsie you are a fucking legend my man ! That’d scare the shit clean outta me on that beast ! I SALUTE YOU SIR ! 🤟🏻
I bought a 701 and then saw your video of buying it. Bought the white Icon helmet you have and saw your video with it equipped and now I just bought the helmet you are wearing in this video. Without even seeing it before I bought it :) Good taste we have
Nice review! Picked up a secondhand 950 sp 2 months ago 1950 miles on it belonged to the boss at my local Ducati dealership.full titanium termignoni single exhaust without dB killer rizoma everything, ohlins steering damper carbon fibre upgrades crash bobbins evo tech rad and oil rad guards and I’ve got 3 boxes of all the standard stuff.part exchanged my 821 sp plus £9000 think it was a pretty good deal. Only thing is I’ve only been out on it twice weather’s been so s**t get my fix though got 2019 crf450.thats another level again 🤪🤟🏻🏴
Now that looks like a bike that i would be considering to get too. It really looks fun to ride and it looks good as well. I always liked their past models but this one seems to be a bit special. Great review again chops 👍🙂
I love this bike !! Just got an all black 2022 KTM 1290 Super Adventure S here in Spain, but for next year the new 2022 950 SP is likely next on the list. This is such a different bike from the rest.
Love my 950. Just such a playful, fun bike. And not really much if anything like it on the market. Wish I had discovered it sooner. Loving your content. Thanks for another great review.
Love that bike! Used to own a Monster stripe 1100 evo what an engine. Ducati sadly on accessories have gone mad! On the new V4 Streetfighter if you want the bling it’s an extra £15k for bling 😳
Good effort son 👍. I’m seriously considering one of these next year. You can see from the specs where the extra money has gone on the SP. Those mirrors would have to go though. They look blood ridiculous!
Being under lock down, I and many others are going though your playlists. This is so far amazing but but they do like shafting you for bling. 4grand and no KY Jelly😱🙀🌬
Damn I'm looking at your videos. Because I'm on the market for a new street/sumo bike and it's hard to make a decision between a smc-r and a hyper 950 when I watch your videos ah ah Nice work!
Im more a naked sports bike but im shure that i will fall in love with this hypermortad, just becose im a dirty ride bike rider too, and this is everything in one bike, i think!!!
To be abel to turn anti wheelie off but still have TC on is great. Its the same as my MT-09SP just put it in Tc 1, and u can wheelie for days :) Lovely bike with full akrapovic system. I have had the Hyper motard 821, but felt like something was missing. Loved the bike tho, maybe should give this 950 a go?
I’m desperate for a shot on one of these. My KTM SDR Gen 2 is the best, most fun bike I’ve ridden, but I want to see how this compares. Definitely going to borrow one of these in the summer.
Nice review chops and good to see manufacturers starting to see your worth, lot of money tho eh £14k i just found a brand new 701sm 2019 for £7499 might have to do it...
Rode this one recently. It was all I could do not to put a deposit down. For an only bike the Striple RS makes more sense. Holding out for it to come to India. But, bloody hell I want this, the ZX6R AND the Striple from everything I've tried so far. Can chose only one sadly. Edit: May have been the standard, not sure really. Was more of seizing the fortuitous opportunity of being in the right place at the right time.
Nice one Chops! I could really go for one of those. The full Termi would just finish it of nicely, so £15500 probably. Bit too rich for me but I can dream 😊
Well I had a shit COVID and few years after, , and stopped doing allot of things I enjoyed... And now I'm in the market for a bike again woohoo... And oh look me old mate lamchop has reviewed one I fancy!! So I'm back watching you again mate missed ya, got some catching up to do!
how's maintenance and upkeep on it? i want a supermoto, or supermotoish bike, but i dont want to do dirt bike/enduro type of maintenance. Like, i dont want to change pistons every 20 hours, i dont want to change oil every 25 hours, i dont want to do the valve work every 2000 miles and etc. i want it to be serviceable more like a naked sport bike, oil change every 3-5k miles, 10k valve CHECK, and etc. how is it? i know the closest ones on maintenance to normal bike are the 701 husky and the 690 ktm, but they are still too endurish on maintenance for my liking.
Love your videos. It would be great if you mentioned occasionally the gear, RPM and MPH your going (though this particular vid often had a pretty good view of the TFT). With the audio of the engine it would help give your viewer a "feel" for the engine character. Keep up the good work!
If I had to guess, I'd say the clutch system needs to be bled, a few other ducati have needed to be bled from the factory from what I've read. Great looking bike, and maybe it's blasphemy but I'd be putting a proper front mudguard on.
My jaw is aching after watching this video. You laughing and screaming over this Duke had me grinning from ear to ear.😆Pro tip: at some point, set up a roadside camera and film that ‘crest wheelie’. Be great to see from front and ground level.😈Not that I’m suggesting you be a hooligan.😉😇🤘🏻Great video mate.💯
Yes you can definitely use the words habitual modifier to describe yourself as one myself it's selfish but most enjoyable ha ha I just put oz piega wheels on my bike today wee Christmas present for me mild compared to the carbon fibre wheels you get enjoy the vlog good on ya
It's that strange front beak and half a front mudguard I don't like, and that oil rad stuck out there getting all the road crude in it !!!, Ducati make gorgeous bikes ( 916, Panigale etc) then make wierd stuff like the Multistrada and the beak on this bike, plus 14k price, you are paying a premium because it's a Ducati , a great review though showing how the electronics suite copes with manky winter roads in UK. 👍👍👍👍
Nice video, I have a question, I have a 2020 690 smc full extras, exhaust, tekmo, power commander... And I don't know if change the KTM for the 950 sp, what do you think? Thanks
I'd love to see Ducati make a Hypermotard Superleggera. Have a 550cc to 650cc thumper engine, drop 100lbs add magnesium wheels and other light goodies. Sell it for $11k - 12k and really commit to a supermoto vibe/ride. That's just my shitty .02 worth.
Hi Did you ever do a follow up on the 950 SP I’ve looked and looked and can’t seem to find anything Really debating swapping my k7 750 for one this year Thank LCR
Another great vlog! Is there any chance to do a comparison in 2020 between this hypermotard and the ktm 690smcr/husky 701? I'm in great doubt in the 'most fun' space of which the street triple is also part of...
How would you comapare the hm and the 701? Looking at these 2 as the only road bike, just fun, short commuting, no higway or travel. Disregard the initial price diff as I am looking at the used market only( prob a 821 or a 939). Is the hy a naked in disguise or is there some motard left in it ;)

Man your enthusiasm is infectious
I’ve just got one of these the 950SP with the full Termi exhaust, it sounds amazing!
It’s a great all round do it all fun bike
Just bought the ‘22 model sp based solely on this review alone. Keep it up. Love your channel
I had the 939sp and I just picked up the 950sp... Ducati has done good with the 950sp. If you liked the old one, you'll love this one 💪😎🫡
I always think this bike is more of a competitor for the MT09 rather than the likes of street triple. After owning an MT09 is definitely hypermotard-esque

Gin and Tonic. Fish and Chips. Chops and 950 SP.

Brilliant review MrChops, thank you for sugesting the perfect Ducati for me.
That sounds so freakin' wonderful. Just like a Ducati should. That alone makes me plan to go for a test ride.
Great reviews. I just got 1 of these beauties. So pleased with the choice 😍
I currently own my second 939 SP and not sure they deserve the criticism. I've never had any serious issues with either however the 939 does miss a few shifts per every ride. Would be interesting to see if thats improved on the 950.

Mate you're reviews make me happy! I love a good hooligan bike being ridden by a bit of a hooligan!
Nice vid as usual 'Chops! The first ever Ducati I road was the original 1100 Hypermotard when it first came out - and fell in love with it straight away - what a bike! Sounds like this (in SP guise at least) is getting close to what that was like....
Quality as usual Chopsy. You def have to hook yourself up with a Street fighter. That’s one bike I’m itching to see you review 😎👍
I just purchased the s model ... Im excited as hell to get it after watching this . Looks like you had a great time w it .
Great Video! Could only imagine how good it would have been in better weather. Looking forward to the comparison to the standard model!
Without even seeing it before I bought it :) Good taste we have
Haha great minds and all that eh 👍
Nice looking bike .. but 500 quid shy of a v2 you'd have to really love the sp ! Keep up the good work Chops👍
Great reviews, love it! Including your SMCR build series as well. Any chance of a follow up video to the 950 SP? Maybe a comparison video?
Let TMF have a go and he'll clean it for you afterwards 😂
Haha, too fast for him 😂
He would need to if he rode it like chops it would be covered in actual crap lol
Be wasted on TMF he rides like my granny 😂
So funny and couldn't agree more!
MotoUk your granny overtook me on a blind bend , the other day. She’s a hooligan.. 😀
Nice review! Sounds like you got a bargain!
Thanks for sharing!! Stuck between this bike and the original 08 1100S.
11:00 “Wheelies over crests...
Where have you been?
I need you back in my life!”
😂someone is having fun
Now that looks like a bike that i would be considering to get too.
It really looks fun to ride and it looks good as well. I always liked their past models but this one seems to be a bit special.

I just test rode the base model today! Cant wait to get my hands on the SP with the full termi system! dream bikeeee
You buying one?? Lucky sod if do
@@LambChopRides early 2020 amen!
Man you do love it with a passion It's infectious
Love my 950. Just such a playful, fun bike. And not really much if anything like it on the market. Wish I had discovered it sooner.
Loving your content. Thanks for another great review.
I was expecting more vids of this bike from you chops!!!! It will most likely be my next bike
Good first look Lamb Chop. Nice to see a bike with twin exhausts.
You just earned another subscription. This bike is so on my radar to own.
Nice video Chops!
It seems a lot of fun
I can feel the torque , it seems similar to the 90NM on my Shiver 900
The italian Vtwins are a blast
Great vid Chops 👍🏻 can’t wait for follow up. I do have a Question but I’ll see if you answer it on the next follow up vid 👍🏻👍🏻
Love that bike! Used to own a Monster stripe 1100 evo what an engine. Ducati sadly on accessories have gone mad! On the new V4 Streetfighter if you want the bling it’s an extra £15k for bling 😳
Yes that old 1100 motor is a peach!
Good effort son 👍. I’m seriously considering one of these next year. You can see from the specs where the extra money has gone on the SP. Those mirrors would have to go though. They look blood ridiculous!
Sounds sooooo good!
Very sweet ride 👍
This bike make Chopsy giggle like a school girl! I love it!
Oh man! That was spectacular ❤️⚡
Another great video chops, thanks. Love the Ducati, a great, fun bike.
Nice sound to this bike. As you say heaps of torque.
I’m tempted to take one for a test ride.
I know I will want one.But I love my 2017 speed triple r.Arrrrrrr what do I do.Brilliant review as always 👍
Being under lock down, I and many others are going though your playlists. This is so far amazing but but they do like shafting you for bling. 4grand and no KY Jelly😱🙀🌬

Great review! Did you manage to do a comparison between the 950 and the 950SP? I’m trying to decide between them at the moment. Thanks!
Lots of great bikes in 2020 and this is just one of the best good review Chops thanks from Danny
Im more a naked sports bike but im shure that i will fall in love with this hypermortad, just becose im a dirty ride bike rider too, and this is everything in one bike, i think!!!
Looks blood lovely. Hail the return of upswept exhausts and single-sided swing-arms. Quite a premium for the Öhlins though. Cough.
Great review! I love this bike I’m planning on getting it next year!
look forward to the comparison vid between the standard/SP
hahah I can tell you enjoyed it, beautiful filming and gorgeous bike
To be abel to turn anti wheelie off but still have TC on is great. Its the same as my MT-09SP just put it in Tc 1, and u can wheelie for days :) Lovely bike with full akrapovic system. How does it compare to the Dorsoduro 900? Also, consider the Dorsoduro is $6,500 out the door and the Hypermotard is close to $20,000
I’m desperate for a shot on one of these. My KTM SDR Gen 2 is the best, most fun bike I’ve ridden, but I want to see how this compares. Definitely going to borrow one of these in the summer.
I really need to visit your country. Looks like you enter a time machine with some of the old architecture. Oh, the bike looks like a blast as well.
Yes quite old and rural around here
Nice review chops and good to see manufacturers starting to see your worth, lot of money tho eh £14k i just found a brand new 701sm 2019 for £7499 might have to do it...

Yeah great isn't it 👍 all the bikes you've mentioned though are epic, tough choices eh!
Brave riding like that on those SP tyres
Nice one Chops! I could really go for one of those. The full Termi would just finish it of nicely, so £15500 probably. Bit too rich for me but I can dream 😊

Yes ok will do, MPH sometimes cant mention 😂
Did you delete the slides and sideways entries?😀
My 2008 gt 1000 was fun after i put a 14 t counter shaft sprocket on it & shortened the wheelbase!
Need to see a LCR track day on this bike!
If I had to guess, I'd say the clutch system needs to be bled, a few other ducati have needed to be bled from the factory from what I've read.

Hehe thanks Simonize 👍👍
Pff....been saying it for years.....should put the multi engine in there...(1100 evo sp owner here) - theyll get there eventually bless'em...
Yes you can definitely use the words habitual modifier to describe yourself as one myself it's selfish but most enjoyable ha ha I just put oz piega wheels on my bike today wee Christmas present for me mild compared to the carbon fibre wheels you get enjoy the vlog good on ya
More Duc tests coming up woo hoo yes please vroom vroom 😃😃😃😃
Nice video. How do you think it compares to a Dosoduro? Have you got a chance to compare it to the standard Hypermotard? Considering an RVE
It makes me laugh so much in your outro whee u fall off your ktm 640 and u go "dickhead man" 😂😂😂
Haha yes good times... well not at the time broke my ankle 😂
Had the 1100 evo sp. Sorry, its still the best of them all LOL. great video mate. Do a trackday on it if you can, would love to hear your thoughts
“Ohh that’s the horn” 😂😂
Get it Chops, you know it makes sense. How many sports bikes do you need, swap the GSXR in for this and give it the full Chops treatment.
You might be surprised with what I've bought 😁😁👍
Ok now you’ve got my attention
At least Mr. Chops rode sedately and sensibly in the slippery conditions.
It still rains in the summer months in the UK. haha. Never freakin rains in Oz. Send some this way.
Sounds like a great idea!
Hi Did you ever do a follow up on the 950 SP I’ve looked and looked and can’t seem to find anything
Really debating swapping my k7 750 for one this year
Thank LCR
Amazing review!!! What is the typical use of a motard? Road wheelies only or is it good for B roads?
Great on B roads but also fine on faster roads if you dont need to go over 90mph sustained
Great stuff LC 😊
Hi Lamb Chop, nice video pal how do you get audio on your GoPro it the wet? I can get it in the sunshine???
Another great vlog! Is there any chance to do a comparison in 2020 between this hypermotard and the ktm 690smcr/husky 701? I'm in great doubt in the 'most fun' space of which the street triple is also part of...
Yes that might be possible if thing come together 👍👍
How would you comapare the hm and the 701? Looking at these 2 as the only road bike, just fun, short commuting, no higway or travel. Disregard the initial price diff as I am looking at the used market only( prob a 821 or a 939). Is the hy a naked in disguise or is there some motard left in it ;)
Have you ridden the standard version yet? I’m seriously considering one of these as my next ride. Can’t decide if the SP is worth the extra money.
Also looking at the 2020 street triple 765 RS, if you had to which would you recommend between the hyper or triple?
Just get the standard version with the optional quickshifter for 200 extra. The standard suspension is more then enough for road riding.
MT09/MT10 or this for the power wheelies guys? one the old hypermotard 1100?
I could Handle one at the Moment with the Weather lately , a few Upgrades & it's a gotta ' Spicy MeatBall's ". .
Excellent video, makes me thinking to buy one ...tomoro😁
What a great channel. Love your enthusiasm. +1 sub 😎
Thanks Bobby 👍👍
I am torn between this bike vs a GS 1250. Will this bike be fun for long rides?
like the review , going to test ride it, brraaappp brrraaap
This is the one that could drag me off my SDR
Noooo don't, I love my blinged out 1290 Super Duke R SE, I would go for the KTM SMC R personally, 😉👍
It's a similar animal to the SDR but better suited to B roads, SDR is a better only bike. Its sharper than the SDR more focused on handling but not as good on faster roads as the SDR
What’s your opinion on the supersport s vs this? I’m trying to make a decision on my first Ducati
