Eldest is definitely hero for the story the dad didnt even know till the eldest told him, so eldest was 100% the start to this chain reaction.
Eldest started this suffering for his dad which makes him a anti-hero

The start of the chain reaction was the fact that she cheated, and she was stupid enough to bring the man while the kids were at home. Not the poor boy telling dad about it.
The fact the husband recognized the symptoms of her pregnancy whithout being factually aware of it shows how much attentive he was toward her during both of the occasions. She had such a good husband and was unable to see it
I'm sure she saw it and just didnt care.
She saw it well and used that kindness.
Had it all. A loyal devoted husband, a home with beautiful children....and threw it away like it was nothing. Just baffling....

I don't think so. She saw it and used it. To give the idea, this is the same woman who literally let a bunny be in the middle of the yard (even though warned that predators roam the place)
Then when inevitably an hawk snatched it in front of her kids, she still thought herself to be right.

OP sounds like a great man, he handled this situation very gracefully. I am so sad for the kids, they did not deserve to be treated like that and i hope they'll be ok. It sounds like OP has a great support system, i'm very glad for that.
I'm sure he did, but I really hope OP had a serious talk with his kids that their mother not loving them is not a reflection on them and that they didn't do anything wrong. Especially the eldest who told their dad about the affair. That everything that happened was all on their mother and they hold absolutely no blame.
It seems obvious to us adults, but it would be very easy for the children to start blaming themselves and feeling guilty and having self esteem issues from it.
Especially when they find out that their mother doesn't want anything to do with them. That is bound to hurt them so much. and I just don't want those poor children to start thinking they deserved any of it.

Still Baffled how the US handles like these cases the OP only won because of the ton of evidence he had, the law is always caters to the wife and that's so lapsided even the wife is clearly cheating. As in my country, whomever cheated and was proven guilty by the court needs to pay up almost everything they had and loses custody if there are children involved or If a settlement will occur for both sides, the one who cheated will have no say or a little bit of opinion in the settlement process, mostly these settlement agreements are so against the cheater.
My mother has to take the L mutlple times because she try to cite cause of divorce for the petiest things and my sister literally (who is a lawyer) told her to "for once to STFU and listen". In my country if you don't had HARD proof of cheating you will end up no where. My dad was suppose to do it multiple times (according to her) ... but my dad was just dumb naive from his work since he come from a place where everyone are buddy buddy and can't process people has ulterior motives. He learn it the hard way.

I honestly feel deeply sorry to everyone in these stories that had to deal with their jerks, but I am glad they post these stories so we can see how bad people are out in this world. These people are true everyday heroes.
This, by far, was probably the most satisfying ending I have ever seen on Am I The Jerk stories! I can't believe on how long the husband stalled all of it, as I would probably be livid at the first sight of the other man. Seriously, stories like this really give me the satisfaction I need everyday. Bravo!

Man the OP was smart and won everything leaving that monster with nothing. He basically asked for Lewis Litt and had a mountain of evidence to back it up. You shouldn't give up on love
The dating phase is explicitly for you to weed out the good from the bad, there are people like this that will weasle through your judgment and it will never be 100% safe, but sometimes you should take a risk; love is the best thing that happens to some and it can be the best decision you make
With dating, you get to see the type of person they are, you get to ask questions to see how they'd approach x or y or get insight on their general philosophies. If you play your cards right you can minimize the risk and get a MASSIVE reward
