I dated a girl while I was in college. Let's call her Angie. I was head over heels for Angie. I hated children and never wanted any. But I was willing to step up and be a dad to the son she already had. I was that crazy for this girl. One night she calls me and lays out, in a very matter of fact way, that shed started seeing someone else. That she had to choose between me and him and that it wasn't really a contest. That I was a penniless college student and he had his own construction company. I moved on. I was head over heels for her but I could tell she wasn't feeling it and I'd been in so many terrible relationships by this point that it was just more wood on a massive bon fire. Angie calls me two months later explaining that the guy got her pregnant and that when she told him he immediately dumped her. And she wanted to know if I wanted to try again. My response was "Bitch, what kinda door mat do you think I am!?" And I hung up. She tried to call me a couple more times over the next few months until I blocked her number.
The gall, the absolute gall of it all. I'm so glad you didn't give her a hint of a chance and blocked her.

If anything happens to you and your husband or wife, the god parents would be the ones to take care of said child. So in short it is someone really close that you trust really well to take care of your child in case something happens.

OP was a good sister. At the end of the day, Karen was acting spoiled, manipulative and was overstepping boundaries. OP was right to not enable her. Maybe one day Karen will grow up and learn to behave like an adult.
Out of all three sisters, Karen is the mentally unstable one (guess that was a misfire) and aunt didn't just take her in just to get checked in a mental hospital when she went off the rails? I hope her baby gets taken away from her because she's not capable of raising them in that state.

Wait, this wasn't all of that! Op adopted the girl she was fostering, but she had to move to another place because Ken kept showing up at her house, and later was arrested for stalking. Karen tried to make thr adoption impossible by saying that Op should adopt her kid, but Op just ignored her.

On that first story, I’m so happy the family was on her side. I’ve seen some stories on messed up families not be on the right side.
Sounds like some serious daddy issues. The whole step-sister origin scenario gives me the impression there's a not-so-great father figure imprinted in Karen's mind & that's why she's drawn to a sleazebag like Ken. So my gut is to suspect Ken is the negative influence which would explain why OP finds Karen's behaviour so surprising and out of character for sisters that otherwise seem to have been close. Ken shows up at the house he isn't allowed at, Ken's fantasy is the big kickoff, Ken's baby, Ken is absent when any sort of "what do we do about this baby" talk is going on but shows up again to break into someone's house and change the locks. Karen's actions don't make much sense, but the pieces come together a little better if you consider them an extension of Ken's motives.
Getting deported is probably the best thing for her, it forcibly removes Ken from the picture, gets a family member looking after her, and being a single mother might even deter future guys like him. Still, if she doesn't sort herself out, she'll find a way to get involved with someone just as bad in home country.

I wouldn't call it an excuse, just an explaination. People are responsible for their own baggage, perpetuating abuse isn't ok just because you're a victim yourself.
Do they actually share the same father figure? I didn't catch the exact details of the "step sibling" situation. But "step" relatives are bound by marriage, not blood. So that generally involves at least one different bio-parent between them. And the "father figure" could be anyone, birth father who left the picture at a young age, mom's new boyfriend, a teacher / some other mentor, a creepy uncle etc.
@@42billybob I remember because it stuck out as similar to me and my 2 sisters. OP was the only legitimate offspring via marriage. Thus why she was the only one recognized by their paternal grandmother. And although they all had different mothers, they shared the same father either by birth or marriage with no other father figure in the mix. That's why they grew up so close. They were practically trauma bonded by the same crap father who abandoned OP and their mother.

i had an ex friend who i thought was a good person only to find out they are an extremely 'woe-is-me' narcissist. She basically left her parents, who just lost their house for dead, to move in with her boyfriend and his family (his mom hate's her and rightfully so'). She ended up cheating on him with some guy who needed papers at the time, and since she didn't make enough she asked me for help and I unwillingly agreed. Even after multiple times of stating that I was uncomfortable and I didn't want to do it she kept pushing and I found out she submitted the documents with out my knowledge. Then, and I don;t know what the hell is wrong with her, but she tried to offer me to her ex as a new potential partner. I would rather get hit by a truck and get my vocal cords cut. Ew. I ended up cutting off all ties with her but now it really bothers me that they are using my name for something I didn't even want to do.
Can you not call whoever - immigration? Idk - and tell them that you signed under duress and wish to revoke your signatures? Without more specifics I can't even really tell what these papers are for, so...
She went above and beyond. My family shut me out for having a child out of wedlock at 16. I had no desire to involve these people. I wasnt their responsibility anyway. I dont get insisting that someone else should take care of you. Never take kindness for granted and do not expect it. Everyone has responsibilities they must deal with and if they cannot help then they cannot. Move on...

I'm a reserve person and calmly assess any situation but if I was infertile (I pray to God everyday that I am not) and someone just goes for that spot then I would be throwing hands, I feel guilty to a lot of things but punching the person who hit me where it hurts, no way will I feel guilty about this, especially if that person knows that my drive in life and what keeps me going is the fact that in the future I want to become a parent, like, how dare they, they just crossed the line at that point, and there's no going back

I think I heard another part of this story before, that after Karen was deported she started taking things so the baby would be disabled so she could get money. The baby either died or was taken from her at the hospital and op's family isn't allowed to take it, but it was adopted by a couple who had experience with the disability the baby ended up having. Than Ken started stalking op and threatening/stalking op's foster kid too. Op had to go through a ton of legal things to be allowed to fully adopt/still foster her kid while moving out of state. Obviously I don't fully remember it all perfectly but I think that's the update after.
I feel bad for the baby perhaps the child when he/she grows may feel some resentment if he/she ever finds out about this maybe to the mom perhaps to the OP who knows

An update to this story from what I've read on reddit: Karen passed away due to complications from her previously inducing a premature birth for her baby ( who OP found out that the baby had passed, too ). Somehow even left 25k in debt to both Mary and OP in addition to funeral costs.

Oftentimes, our so-called relatives can be more toxic than even bad intentioned strangers, as they seem to think being related gives them some type of claim or entitlement. You did the more than right thing - but especially by protecting the little one you are already fostering. That child deserves a life free from the misery often cause by such people. Calling/describing someone as "Exotic" has got to be the biggest turn off in the history of turn offs, probably ever.
I've heard this story before on an different chennel, I personally believe that guy must of had her strung out on something. Because that the only way her behavior makes sense. As it sounds like she went from 0 to holy shit over the span of a few months. I don't know the back round of these sisters prior to this but it didn't sound like they were on bad terms as Op was willing to share her inheritance with her when didn't need too. I've seen this kinda of change in behavior before in my step dad when he got hooked on that shit. So I think being deported was likly best thing for her sister as it forcefully removed what was essentially her dealer out of her life. While op is 100 per-cent not the a-hole I do think she should maybe keep tabs (not contact just tabs) on her just to see if maybe that was the case and if she managed to get better.

I think the only jerk part on behalf of the OP is offering a termination after it seemed clear that Karen was going to carry the baby. Otherwise, I think Karen would have brought something like that up way sooner, or even sought out termination options herself. Even then, regardless anything, the baby is innocent in all of this. I can understand OP not wanting anything to do with a child that was conceived with a person she warned Karen about way ahead of time. However, I would have taken guardianship or would have adopted the baby. Clearly, mom was stupid and not ready for it, but that shouldn't fall on the baby. Adopt baby before it's even born, that way no changing mind after baby is born, send mom back to home country. Raise the baby right and with less struggles than what might be going on in home country. That being said, I side with OP on all other thoughts and issues.
Well I believe OP also offered having the baby up for adoption after birth instead of termination.. but she wouldn’t pay for the medical expenses of Karen. I think even if she adopted the baby, it would mean Karen and Ken would somehow still be a part of her and the baby’s life.
Isn’t discussing termination acceptable when it hasn’t reached the stage of… like heartbeat and consciousness, (don’t take this the wrong way), but that Karen couldn’t have just gotten (it’s like a thing to remove the fertilised egg?) before it even started to develop so that no damage was done, but instead she just shouted at her sister saying she wanted to keep the baby, then ended up trying get em adopted, then try to persuade the police that OP is the person she is surrogating for after breaking into Mary’s living quarters.
@@juliacamino6875 If Ken is the bio father, he has rights if this story is in the US. There's no way that he would agree to OP adopting and then just walk away forever (even if Karen did). OP would be stuck with him forever.

I think she was under no obligation to take the baby at all, and might be in danger if she did, given who the father is. She should not be blamed for refusing to take up the responsibility her sister cast off.
