I agree. It's the next level, but I've heard horror stories about programming gone wrong and the shop being on the hook for bigx bucks. If bricking an expensive module is inevitable, then definitely seems like a gamble. Gotta calculate risk v reward.

Hi Mario, thank you for the information. I was curious about programming a Mercedes with the Topdon. I usually use Autel MS909 even though I would rather use Xentry but is out of my budget. One recommendation is to use "initial startup" instead of "programming'' when programming a new module. This option will guide you through all required steps (program, coding and adaptations). Something I noticed about the programming was that the new software level was older than the original (old). This is common with Autel as well. Unfortunately in the aftermarket industry some times we don't have other option than downgrade the software in order to program and code a new module. This is the reason some people don't recommend using aftermarket tools to program. Unfortunately some times the manufacturer doesn't give us other options unless we want to spend a lot of money. In MB case about $30k for the factory tool .
As a Benz technician it’s cool to watch someone program with an aftermarket tool. Watching your videos helped me pull the pin on buying a Topdon tool for side jobs out of the dealership. Now I’m wishing I got this one instead of the Phoenix Plus 😂
