You'll need to re-program all the other o2 sensors after replacing one. Then, when that doesn't fix the lean code, get out the parts cannon and fire it multiple times. Replace as many 'good parts' as you can afford, with cheap junk parts until you give up, then take it to a professional like Eric O🤣👍🇦🇺
Thinkcar has about 12 makes unlocked for cloud programming if you can use vpn including new virgin modules . They def are all spotty however. It’s frustrating when people think coding is programming however.
Would be very useful to make an additional video comparing module cloning capabilities instead of programming of diffrent tools, as like you described, aftermarket programming is not so available. We need a tool that can do cloning and immo well, and to know which makes have the option to make a replaced ECU functional with aftermarket tools. Thanks alot
Hello Kieth, nice offer. Well by the style of questions you are getting, no doubt that your clients require more knowledge and there's a need for it. Please go for it...
So what is considered configuring and what is considered coding? If i wanted to increase the minimum battery voltage setting for stop/start on my vw to effectively permanently disable it so i dont have to turn it off with a button push every time i get in, would that be something that could be possible with one of these tools?
I would love to see a more detailed video on how to use a J2534 and what it takes to program a module. I realize this would include having to pay to connect to a manufacturer's website etc.
I own my own shop and I’ve always used snap on scan tools. I’m expanding and looking at more resonable scanner options. Could you recommend one without a scope? I use a pico scope. Or point me to a video. Thanks a ton. Love your content
Kinda let life get away from me and needed to work on things in my personal life. Had to find a way to make time for my family and my business, as well as allowing youtube to coexist in that world.
Thanks for calling it like it is!!! Im on the market for a mid-level $400 range scan tool, and it can be overwhelming with all the "false" advertising like, bidirectional, programming, mode 6, mode 8, FULL OBD2, clones and so on..... Is like saying your new scanner is Gluten Free!! lol Could you recommend a "decent" mid-level ($400) scanner that does it "A̶L̶L̶" MOST? I'll be using it with a 2009 Avalanche 4wd, 1998 Z28 and 2005 Jeep. Thanks!!
Do you have a favorite or your "go to" j2534 device? Also can the mongoose plus program other brands? Or is it limited to the designated brand i buy for?
Cardaq Plus 3 is my go too, its also the most validated. Each mongoose will be functional on any car that has a networks that the protocols of the individual mongoose supports, its a difficult game to try to decipher which year make and model of every brand that a mongoose will work on of an unsupported manufacturer. I would just stick to what they are designed for.
Any video reviews on the Topdon Plus vs Lauch X431 Pro vs Autel MK906 within the $1,200 range cant find any comparing to find the best bang for the buck to work best on GM and Chevrolet, Ford Etc..?
As a professional repair shop and the go-to diagnostic, programming guy, we typically do not even own the "heavy DIY" or General service type tools. I have a few videos on some X-431 tools in that range, but most that we have are 2k and up.
Hey i have a question ive tried to program a 6l80E TCM in a 2008 pontiac g8 with sps2 and it gives me an error code E2907 we have checked the harness its good but keep getting that error.
Can the autel mk908p ii, im508s and topdon phoenix plus , clone / write vin to the me9.7 ecu and vgs3nag2 mercedes w204 c300 4matic??? Also does it lock you out when you dont pay your subscription? And lastly roll back a programming newly done on an ecu precisely the me9.7 bosch benz ecu ? Im asking cos i recently used launch to update my ecu for my w204 2010 mercedes c300 4matic and now it suddenly throws up hood sensor not cominicating and back seat rest not lashed , and my vehicle doesnt have any of these sensors equipped cos i did a thorough sweep of the vehicle , especially the hood lash , no sensor whatsoever ,
Yes I really would like to find out where they sell these the scan tools and then go on from there I would like to learn about this class and that I really appreciate it because I'm over here in Arizona north of Arizona and that's where I'm located a lot of these people out here they have new cars and they're really having a problem with the diagnostic and the engine service lights are on so that's why I wanted to see how much the class is from the beginning to start from there
Well he is right. Launch and autel do a good job with euro programming but even that is about 60-85 at best!! You may need 2 or 3 different scan tools to finish it. The rest of the manufacturers you can try, but you better have quoted the worst case scenario as far as fees go and have the necessary VCI with laptop software ready. Or know how to fix it if the launch and autel screw something up.
@@L1Training it’s communicating actually but it’s not working only when I want to enter the RCM function and also this S7 plus not working with Chevy cars I tried it on 2 1999 Chevy express cars .
Ive had great luck updating modules to latest version. Find it strange you didnt mention the "update" capabilities of these tools. Programming a used or new module these tools are useless.
Right proprietary software comes from manufacturers only. Upgrading, updating and properly programing a module should always be done through proprietary software. These scan tools can corrupt that orignal software quick. Think of it as a cheap copy of software.
Thanks for clarifying the Autel doesn't actually program modules!
I am confused... do I need to replace the 02 when I get a lean code? Then I program it right? Will my Snap-On program that? Thanks in advance..😑
Only if you have the correct personality key...
Jajaja South Main Auto is being sarcastic here.

Pull the cylinder heads and check for a leak, if that's okay, Then program it.

Nice to see you back Kith, I like your videos and explanation! We hope you can upload more content.
excellent job Keith thanks so much for sharing

I have a online programming class at L1Training.com , its $25 a month to have access to all of my training.
Well worth the subscribe!!! Love the comedy of this video @Keith? 😂🤣😂🤣

I am alittle upset it took someone this long to figure it out.
Agreed 💯 keith. Welcome back
Hi 👋👋👋 yes please make 5he other video you said , to keep explain.
Very good master
What is best budget friendly to get setup for beginners for programming?
I work on bunch different manufacturers
Good to see you Keith, hope you're well, we missed you, where' you been?🤔👍

No clue really, as a professional repair shop we don't really operate in that range of tools.
I just purchased a Launch CRP919E for under $400. Seems to do well.

Good day to all. Which scanners does beyond a shadow of a doubt coding or initializing modules?
Not a single one, there is not one single scanner that does it all.

thank you so much.
Autel doesn't make this clear on their website at all.
Ah what the heck Keith, make the longer video just for the fin of it. Would be a well watched video regardless……

Yes with other associated tools, yes and no, and no.

Trying to access srs module RCM in my 2016 Ford Escape and this S7 plus give me a message says “ car no support “ anybody knows what I’m doing wrong?

Nice sir G
Super stupid question. I have an Ultra and I know the VCI is J2534. If I wanted to use that for say ODIS, How do I set it up?
Go to erwin vw, follow the directions for applying for an account, its a multi week process.
