Indian railways has started the big task to convert the toilets of Indian railway to bio toilet in 65000 coaches so that water n toilet doesn't go to tracks. Loved the vlog as always.U people are the coolest couple.

I so admire your open loving regard for cultures and people. I have mentioned before how much I appreciate Kara's pure enjoyment and wonder about the simplest things and how both of you seem to understand the privilege it is to be able to experience the beauty of travel (ha! as well as the nuttiness and exhausting exasperation of it!). These are some of the reasons we all supported Kara and Nate in the Shorty Awards! Love Upon Love!!!

+manoj singh Westerners have been wiping their butts for quite some time now, without any serious health consequences. It might not be as unhygienic as we Asians would like to think.
Besides personal hygiene and public sanitation have very different contexts. You cannot bring up personal hygiene in the context of public sanitation. He is not talking about butt cleaning rituals or eating habits. He is talking about something which has an international standard to it, which all countries should strive to conform to. In case you didn't know, countries are ranked on the basis of their prevalent sanitary conditions, and India ranks pretty low on that list.

Nate you just got the whole concept of water coming to your face in the train wrong..wait i will explain it to you..what really happens is in the morning water dew drops are collected over the train(early morning everywhere in the world dew drops gets collected for eg..go to your garden and check the leaves..i mean thats natural)..so when the train moves the remaining water that was collected naturally over the trains doesn't evaporate fast and therefore as the train moves you start experiencing drizzles all over your face..thats definitely not the toilet water..chill man.. :)

The moist drops are not from toilet flushing down but from windows. When people sitting on window seat spit/ throw water out of window, it comes onto the near by open door. Spitting / throwing water out of window is very common on Indian trains.

Its actually not only luck. Thanks to the nice n intelligent algorithm of Indian Railways for First ACs. It does not allocate seats before with a goal to allocate most passengers on a ticket in one compartment. As you booked tickets for two people, you got the compartment for two people. This brings back memories from when I traveled from Varanasi to Indore and I almost died I swear cause it took 27hours and my bunk was right next to the toilet. It’s okay I survived (I didn’t bring any food cause I thought there would be snacks available like the last 15 hour train ride we had) but yeah, I literally didn’t eat for 27 hours...

You will have to come back to earth one day but love your stuff . Kara is a riot, a real gem, a great couple . I bet there are a few fights along the way we don’t see. If I was going where you have been, I would definitely look at your videos before I went . The thing about carrying your own junk food was spot on. You will treasure these videos forever. Just superb.

I work for the Indian Railways and I will try to brief how first AC booking works:
The ticket initially booked is just given as CONFIRMED/CNF if seats are available in that particular first AC coach of that particular train. Then all the requests come and four hours prior to the time of departure the particular Railway division under whose jurisdiction the departure station falls allots the seat number.
Allotment is done on various indicators, senior citizens usually given lower berth, pregnant females also lower berth, the couples are tried to be given coupe (2 seats compartment), family of four is tried to be given a cabin of 4 beds, etc.
The seat numbers are sent as SMS to the phone number registered while booking the ticket or it can be seen on the platform from reservation charts or from website of Indian Railways by searching the Pnr, even the information can be sought from Travelling ticket examiner (TTE) who usually wears a black coat and stands outside the train.
    Hope it helps.

Hai Kara and Nate, lot of things are changing with pace, new schemes like swatch Bharat which means clean India is going on. And Indian railway experience is actually undergoing tremendous changes. Those toilets are now changing and railways stations are undergoing continuous efforts with technologies to give a best and comfortable ride experience. Anyway thanks for experiencing India. We hope you will visit again.
