That means that he did not get much sleep at all the previous night and he was basically running on fumes and caffeine. This led to a priceless comedic dance between him and John Oliver. It's weird...As an Aussie I went to New York in the late 90's (for a holiday), and one of the first things I saw was someone bashing the hood of a taxi and saying "Hey I'm walking here!" I remember thinking, Wow. I'm definitely in New York. Cracked me up! 😂
