Sierra is soo beautiful she is my favorite musical actress and Sean is so adorable!!! he is a perfekt dancer and his voices is soooo warm wonderful i love him in that role
This dance between Ariel-Sierra and Eric-Sean are so beautiful. I really wish that this Broadway musical had been a live action movie and on dvd with Sierra Boggess as Ariel, Sean Palmer as Prince Eric and the rest original cast from the Broadway musical since I saw it. It's so much in this musical that I love.
I agree with you. She is the best Ariel and Christine ever. I can’t agree on her being the best Cosette ever though because I have never heard her or seen her as Cosette.
I remember when I was in the little mermaid, we went and sang at Barnes and nobles, and the guy who played grimsby came, wearing his costume, which was a thick velvet suit with knee high, boots. And it was sooooo hot outside. But he had a great time! We all did.
Sierra...is..she...just...WOW!!!!!!!! And sean palmer is so...just UGH! I'm jealous!!!!! THEY MAKE IT SEEM SO FLOWY AND SIMPLE AND...UGH! It makes me mad because i didn't see this when it came and now it's GONE!!!
You can really feel the chemistry between Ariel in this scene. Sierra and Sean we’re both perfect these rolls. I also bet they’re this adorable in real life.
this is my favorite part of the show and my favorite song! i'm a dancer so i absolutly love one step closer. speaks to me. lol. and sierra went to my church when she was younger! she brought two of the actors to service one time and it was sooooo cool!
The way Sean does these incredible lifts and spins and then has enough breath at the end to sing the last part of the song is extremely inspirational and remarkable!
Eric:So, What happened? Did an accident happen when you were small? (creepy voice) Or maybe goblins came and stole your voice at night? Poor Ariel! She turns away, and grabs her throat as if to say, "Yeah. Something like that."
Actually it's the other way around. Sierra played Christine in the Las Vegas version of Phantom in 2006. It was there that she caught the attention of a Disney executive who watched her performance. They asked her to audition for TLM on Broadway. While she was doing TLM in 2008 Andrew Lloyd Webber called her to do a workshop for Love Never Dies. But he never saw her in Mermaid. It was through her success of LND that led Andrew to cast her in the 25th Anniversary concert of POTO.
Actually, Les Poissons came before Be Our Guest. The Little Mermaid was made in '89 and Beauty and the Beast in '91. Just a fun fact. =D This is one of the cutest numbers I've ever seen! And I've seen alot! I love this song! XD ♥
Yes, I know, but I think they played up the similarities between the two songs when writing the Les Possons reprise, with Eric's servants bustling around like the Beast's servants in Be Our Guest.
It's DEAD OBVIOUS that Eric and Ariel DESERVE each other, because they're both WILD, LOOSE, and FREE!!! LOL XD Example: When Eric said, "You should see the princesses Grimsby drags her. So prim and BORING!!! But you! Oooh! You're practically swinging from the chandeliers! LOL
i also noticed the similarity between Les Poissons and Be our guest. But no wonder - they all were composed by Alan Menken. (by the way, if you listen closely to A Whole new world from the Aladdin, there is a moment, when the music theme remids of Beauty and the Beast song)))
A little detail that I just noticed: during the entire song, whenever they waltz his hand is on her waist and her hand is on his shoulder. It is the "classic" way. He is trying to lead her through the song, introducing her to a new way of speaking. At the end, Ariel reverses it, putting her hand on his waist. In that moment, she is letting him know that she wants to tell him something.
I wonder how old Sean Palmer was when he started acting. Well, I mean performing. Must've started off VERY YOUNG!!! Sean Palmer, as I understand is EXACTLY 18 years older than me. I just so happen to share the same birthday as him. January 23. Only he was 1971, and I was 1989. Well, that's the ONLY thing we have in common. Nothing more I assure you.
The reprise of Les Poissons was written as an inside joke for the writers and composers. Its, not so subtle, similarities were put in by the original composer of both songs, Alan Menken. You can tell that he has put in his own opinion of the film to stage transfer for both shows into the song.
I actually really felt like those people around with the chefs that song they were singing. Everything else after the last Sean the conversation from Arie to the prince is getting closer to one another
What I don't get really - is the fact that I always thought mermaids ate fish themselves. So even when I was young a lot of the little mermaid made me wonder.
Eric: So if you don't mind me asking. What was it? An accident when you were small or (creepy voice) maybe goblins came and stole your voice at night? Like I said before, poor Ariel. She turned away, grabbing her throat as if to say, "Yeah. Something like that."
@defygrav12 Les Poissons was written well before Be Our Guest. The Little Mermaid came out in 1989 while Beauty and the Beast was released in 1991. And if you don't like that there's a similar melody then take it up with Alan Menken. He composed "both" of these films and was apart of creative process for "both" of the Broadway productions as well.
My theory is that Sierra was already adorable but then she had to become Disney princess level adorable and then she just never stopped.
If you ever see the behind the scenes of phantom that's basically what happened!
EXACTLY
I feel like Sierra doesn't even have to act when she's Ariel. She's practically her adorable self!
Reagan Elizabeth truuuue!
I agree.
Oh don't mind me, I'm just crying over how freaking adorable "one step closer" is
Me too ❤
I can't imagine how hard it would be to play the part of Ariel. She has to portray so much emotion without speaking...man that's got to be tough
5:37 When they finally come together in a waltz... the most magical musical moment in the entire show
The adorableness of Sierra is unmatched. 😍😍😍
Sierra is SO adorable!!!like... i can't even... i have the biggest crush on her
And I have a huge crush on sean Palmer. I seriously want him. Specially when he is Prince Eric Hahaha.
Sierra was born to play this role
Oh, man. Sierra's so wonderful in this scene, and so is Sean!
I just love how Sierra plays Ariel. So perfect!
I don't know why I cried when I hear One Step Closer when I was in New York. it's a beautiful song
Sierra makes an adorable Ariel!! So innocent and sweet!!
Sean Palmer is very INSPIRATIONAL!!! He's done SOOO MUCH!!!
Sierra was simply made to play this part. I find her absolutely perfect!
Sierra is soo beautiful she is my favorite musical actress and Sean is so adorable!!! he is a perfekt dancer and his voices is soooo warm wonderful i love him in that role

Adorable! I love Sierra. She's my idol! Best Ariel,Christine and cosette Ever!:))
I agree with you. She is the best Ariel and Christine ever. I can’t agree on her being the best Cosette ever though because I have never heard her or seen her as Cosette.
for someone who's never dances before, Ariel picked it up pretty quickly :D
Goodness, if a guy were to sing this to me, I'd be in his arms faster than he could say "snarflatt" XD
I remember when I was in the little mermaid, we went and sang at Barnes and nobles, and the guy who played grimsby came, wearing his costume, which was a thick velvet suit with knee high, boots. And it was sooooo hot outside. But he had a great time! We all did.
One Step Closer is SO adorable!!!!
The girl that played Ariel is so adorable
And her dress is lovely too !
Angel of Music!
I love how they made an instrumental song into a song with lyrics!
Awwwww! He fell in love with her towards the end when she layed her head on his chest! (':
🥰
You can really feel the chemistry between Ariel in this scene. Sierra and Sean we’re both perfect these rolls. I also bet they’re this adorable in real life.
one step closer is my favorite scene in the whole musical! i adore Sierra!!!
Finally! There is someone who appriciates Sean as Eric. Thank you. :)
I wish that dancing scene was in the movie. SO beautiful.
this is my favorite part of the show and my favorite song! i'm a dancer so i absolutly love one step closer. speaks to me. lol. and sierra went to my church when she was younger! she brought two of the actors to service one time and it was sooooo cool!
Eric is great at acting and singing so is Ariel
for someone who's never danced before, Ariel picked it up pretty quickly :D
It'd be awesome if I could learn the choreography to this. Sierra is so adorable :3
The way Sean does these incredible lifts and spins and then has enough breath at the end to sing the last part of the song is extremely inspirational and remarkable!
Love "One Step Closer."
I'm in this show at my local theater and this is by far my favorite scene to watch! It was either this or she's in love but the entire show is great
It’s 2023 and i’m still coming back to it
I was lucky enough to watch this live on Broadway. Same cast and everything.
THE BEST THING EVER I LOVED IT SIERRA HAS SO MUCH TALENT!!! everyone in the cast does!!!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I absolutely adore this musical!!! never seen it, probably never will. but it's beautiful.
Well from 3:27 is originally an instrumental song. I think it's played when Ariel sees Eric for the first time on the ship :)
Alan Menken wrote the music for Beauty and the Beast AND the Little Mermaid. I think that's the point in Les Poissons.
Coming back to the "Les poisson" reprise while high later...
I love this dance number! I love them both!!!!!!!!!
I love Sierra!!! She is my favorite!!!
we have performed this last night at prom during the intermission and it was so unforgettable. :D
Eric:So, What happened? Did an accident happen when you were small? (creepy voice) Or maybe goblins came and stole your voice at night?
Poor Ariel! She turns away, and grabs her throat as if to say, "Yeah. Something like that."
Thank you for uploading the whole musical! I have really enjoyed it.
Eric's reaction 07:19
right in the feels
Julie Barros like “oh damn. Right into my heart. So cute and funny”
4:58 give and take
5:42 beginning of waltz
the dance in like a conversation made me CRY! that was gorgeous! :')
I want that hair. Sierra is so talented and absolutely beautiful.
This would be my favorite scene!
This made me cry :( It's so...Awwwww!!

"BE OUR GUEST, BE OUR GUEST--"
Oh wait, wrong musical. ;P
Squeeee that entire Eric/Ariel dance scene was the cutest thing in the world!! :D
I love the song One Step Closer it is so beautiful ^_^
I thought it was funny in 1:46 where Chef Louis says "I got you now" and Sebastion pinches Louis' nose so that he can get away.
I just love how Ariel is so horrified at the fact that they’re eating fish in this scene! 😆😂🤣
I suppose she eats fish too
It's DEAD OBVIOUS that Eric and Ariel DESERVE each other, because they're both WILD, LOOSE, and FREE!!! LOL XD Example: When Eric said, "You should see the princesses Grimsby drags her. So prim and BORING!!! But you! Oooh! You're practically swinging from the chandeliers! LOL
I'm starting to feel like I'm the only one who loved Sean Palmer as Eric.
He's so great , and handsome too !
Sierra and...Eric...haha...Erik...if only Ramin got the part of Erik...Oh wait! He already did...I meant PRINCE Eric!
i also noticed the similarity between Les Poissons and Be our guest. But no wonder - they all were composed by Alan Menken. (by the way, if you listen closely to A Whole new world from the Aladdin, there is a moment, when the music theme remids of Beauty and the Beast song)))
Sierra is so cute as Ariel!
this is the same melody in the movie when he was dancing with the sailors on the ship
Does this remind anyone of "Beauty and the Beast"?
CupcakesRock13 this song sounds like be our guest
Yes,but in this case... ARIEL is the Beast. She is the one who changes
Ricardo Bauler has think they meant Les poissons (reprise) but it’s an interesting way of looking at things
Melody's parents no doubt about it.
Sierra Boggess,!!!!!!!!I love her she is my favorite actress

When they were singing Les Poissons fast it kinda sounded like be our guest.

That dancing is magical :'D

What else ?
Eric: So if you don't mind me asking. What was it? An accident when you were small or (creepy voice) maybe goblins came and stole your voice at night?
Like I said before, poor Ariel. She turned away, grabbing her throat as if to say, "Yeah. Something like that."

haha i love how they choregraphed the chase scene between the cook and sebastian! :D
Pretty damn good for a first time dancer ;)
sierra boggess is just too cute!!
I wish I could find my Prince Eric!
@piminiminimini hey you're right, they use the instrumental of "Be Our Guest".
Because in his heart he knows she's the girl he's been looking for. He just has yet to fully embrace it in his head.
i hope the upcoming live action little mermaid has this scene! :
I meant the chemistry between Ariel and Eric.
Les Possion reprise is a song that makes me feel hungry
Was just in Beauty and the beast, and the whole food stuff reminds me of it, was just going to say that
the end of les poissons is like a morbid be our guest. always wanted to see ariels reaction when she finds out whats in the food.
Why , doesn't she eats fish too?
@Tactual it is a plot change because the end had to be changed a bit. it has to do with other changes they had to make as well
that hair is sooo pretty
Good Lord, I'm swooning. Where do I find a guy like that? And why wasn't that song in the movie?
that chef is soooo fluffy :3
This music is belle and then the Les Poisson Reprise sounds like Be Our Guest? Alan Menken I saw what you did there!
@drumrgrl4him09
totally is. Also, lots of disney movies make references to the other disney movies, so it really could be the same melody.
