I’m so glad you’re playing this! I started myself about a week ago and had no real concept of how to scale/build larger and was hoping you’d show me what I was missing 😂. (It was the depot chains/belts). ❤

34:43 I think you can add depots MK2 inside the train loops to increase efficiency

There is very limited collision detection. Trains and trucks will go through each other except when they are immediately behand another vehicle on the same route. This allows a train to gotrough itself so the end loop can be small

21:15 looks like there is no train collision when crossing, so the crossing of lines may not be as much of an issue. very neat game though. Whenever I hear about some indie strategy game, KoS already made a video for it over a month ago. Never fails.

:D There is collision if trains are in teh same queue waiting. If another line is crossing, it doesn't matter, but I have had train lines get stuck because of same-route crossings.

      @@KatherineOfSky oh I hope that won't become a problem.

Super fun looking game so far!
I'm super late to watching these, but i think the trains choose their direction by the shortest path to their dropoff/pickup. 🤷‍♀ But i could be way off.

The automobile lobby basically destroyed america's train network to sell cars, as I understand it.

Indeed. Similar with the bus lobby in the UK

What this game needs is a disassembling building. Somewhere to put all the roads, trucks, depots MK 1, and all other things that become obsolete through the game. With resources being limited and issues like water flooding and making ore deposits unavailable, then being able to turn things back into raw materials (even at a loss) would be great.
The game's good, but has a lot of room for improvement, from drone priority checks to water not being so destructive (it doesn't destroy anything directly, but can mess your transport structure badly.) Also being able to have more than one line per truck/train station would be amazing - archaic games like Transport Tycoon already had that, so why can't a game in 2023 have what I consider a basic feature of the 'genre?'

There no collision detection in the game so trains (and trucks) just run right through other trains on the same line so there no worry about lines being clogged.

There is colliision detection on trains on the same route. They pile up behind each other.

The barrier to trains in America has always been the Auto Industry lobby. They even buy up train lines and destroy them.

The music has a very Danny Elfman feel to it.

Thanks for the video, i think blunt fronted bodies are more aerodynamic, at least sometimes. Racing cyclist helmets seam to come to mind

    • @KatherineOfSky

Racing cyclist helmets are very streamlined. Never heard of blunt front being streamlined.... I'm very sure trains and other vehicles, like planes, would surely have that style of architecture if it was so
