Great vids. Set my Vortex up just like you showed. It changes the setting sounds on my keyboard (Casio WK3500), but the only sound I get is piano. I can scroll through the keyboard sound list on the keyboard display, but the only instrument I get is piano. I guess there is a setting I have that doesn't match by keyboard, and I'm not sure what it is. Any help you can give would be great. Thanks.
Hi, I took a look at the tone list in the Casio WK3500 manual (on-line), it doesn't show any numbers for LSB so I am guessing it should be set to 0 (zero), MSB ranges from 48 to 57, so if Program 26, LSB 0, MSB 48 changes the sound to Jazz Guitar, use the numbers shown in the tone list of the manual. Usually though you have take 1 off the program number so Program 26 becomes Program 25. Hope this helps.

Hi IbandUK, I just got the alesis vortex wireless 2 and I followed all the steps but there is no sounds coming from my laptop. Do I need a mac computer or do you have any idea why it's not working? Thanks
Claudiu Pirvu Hi, firstly, you don't need a mac... Have you installed a DAW on your laptop (ableton live lite maybe) and setup the soundcard in the DAW (either your laptop soundcard or a DAI), clicked on a sample sound in the DAW to make sure you have sound coming out of your laptop speakers (or external speakers if you are using DAI), plugged in the Vortex Wireless Dongle into a usb slot on your laptop, setup the Vortex in the midi settings of your DAW, added a vst sound to a track in your DAW, activated the track (if using ableton), set the track input to the Vortex and made sure the Vortex and the track are both using the same midi channel (usually channel 1 or 2), turned on the Vortex and made sure you have selected the right zone on the Vortex (upper and lower are on different midi channels)? There are quite a lot of steps, so please check them all, if you get stuck on any step (or you still don't have sound) let me know, I will be happy to help.
Hi, firstly, make sure you are connecting your vortex to a computer using the USB cable and NOT the wireless dongle (on a PC it will pretend to have send the preset via wireless dongle - a serious flaw with the PC version).
K.ẞ. MÚŚĪC ÒFFÎÇĪÂL First, make sure the wireless dongle is not plugged into your computer and you do not have any DAW software open (or software that might take control of the usb ports). Now start the vortex preset editor. Clicl on the File tab (top left of window), then click on retrieve. Now click on GET On the popup window. You should now see a retrieve preset successful message. If you get retrieve preset failed message, then either the vortex 2 has not been switched on, the usb cable is not connected (or broken) or other software on your computer has taken control of the usb port and not sharing it with the Vortex preset editor or another usb device is plugged into your computer and causing a problem. If the retrieve preset was successful, edit the colours and send the preset back to your vortex. Please also note that colours 2 and 3 only work when the pad is set to Note... They are switched off when pad is set to CC, Program Change or Panic. Also, only the pad colours can be changed or switched off.
In the Preset Editor go to the last TAB (Program Change Keybed), then in the Split Point section change the CURVE to Curve 8 in the drop down menu. Save the Preset to the Vortex and now every time you select that Preset on the Vortex all notes will play at full volume no matter how light or hard you press the keys.
