Here’s a glitch (or should I say “developer oversight”) exclusive to the European GameCube version:
When you start the game in PAL60 mode, the game will actually run at 20% faster speed than intended due to the PAL-optimisations (which make it so that the game runs at normal speed when in 50 Hz mode) not being disabled in PAL60 mode.
Because of this, the European GameCube version is preferred for “super hard mode” speedruns, with speedrunner Lemres holding the current WR at 44m 02s.
(the fastest SHM speedrun on the NTSC version, by contrast, was 50m 56s by Deku_sr)
Doesn't that apply to PS2 as well

In fact on PS2 Sonic Heroes doesn’t have ANY alternate display modes, as far as I'm aware:
No progressive scan for the American/Japanese PS2 version and no PAL60/NTSC toggle on the European PS2 version
(in fact the PAL PlayStation 2 console itself doesn’t support PAL60 in the first place, now that I think of it).
Plus the PS2 version of Sonic Heroes is a pretty shitty port to begin with, so who even cares?
@@DaneeBound I have no idea what this all means but I can confirm however that choosing 60 is possible on a pal ps2. I get the option whenever I start the game but idk what it means tho or if this is even what you're asking in the first place lol

@Windsguidance the PS2 did in fact NOT support PAL60 or NTSC50.
When you play in 60hz, you're just in NTSC mode.

Well, aside from being able to access parts of stages Team Chaotix normally can't access, but who cares about that? What do you think this is, Boundary Break?

The best example I can think of is Ocean Palace. There is a section where you have to use Charmy to bloom a flower, but if you use the glitch, you can get past the invisible barrier and you can get through the turtles' section. What's interesting is that Team Chaotix has voice lines about the turtles.

Also, if you time it right you can switch to power glide. This breaks the flight glitch but once high enough it doesn't matter
3:15 this makes perfect sense. you’ve changed to the flying character and immediately crashed, Big is just assuming the position you’re supposed to when you’re crashing while flying, head between the knees and hope for the best!
Sonic Heroes is my favorite game in the Sonic franchise, and seeing all the weird and wild ways of breaking it, that's just the cherry on top.
I love sonic heroes but sadly due to the bad controls and levels that drag on for too long it will never be my favorite even though I still love it and it’s definitely in my top ten list of sonic games

I'm assuming the reason the glitch at 11:23 doesn't work for Team Sonic is due to Knuckles not being as tall as the other 3. The reason on why this could be is because the 3 other teams have a tall Power character and how this glitch is triggered is by the collision for when you attack at the same time while on the ground when nobody is with you.

Actually it does work on Team Sonic. Cobanermani456 played through the Super Hard difficulty of Sonic Heroes and experienced this glitch.
If I'm not mistaken, it's the last part in Final Fortress where he encountered it.
But Knuckles is a little bit taller than Sonic and Tails is shorter than both Sonic and Knuckles.

I played Sonic Heroes so many years ago and I loved it even though it was such a hard game
I'm sure I remember experiencing the glitch where the power character is on their own just by accident

14:47 I've done this glitch with Big before, and won the stage in 4 seconds. I was mad I kept dying so I would start clicking restart quickly and it eventually happened. Thought it was the coolest thing ever and I couldn't explain lol

I got Sonic Heroes for the Gamecube on launch day. What a fun, glitchy disaster. No regrets in the slightest.
I am very happy to see him back. It was dissapointing when he announced he would be releading another episode in a week, but didnt, but 9 months later, the return feels epic.

Really great video! Loved all the glitches of the funny cutscenes! Glad to see you back! In terms of a next video, I think any Nintendo game that has a lot of glitches would be good. There are quite a few 3rd party N64 games that would make good glitch videos

It's great to see this return after such a long time, Was a good watch on TH-cam in the day.
Even though people are split on Sonic Heroes a sequel would be nice taking the concept of the speed/power/flight teams but make it so you can mix and match the characters. As for the video itself it was nice seeing a few glitches I hadn't seen before.
At 12:42 Cobanermani456 did the same glitch with sonic team totally on accident in his hard mode playthrough on the final fortress episode

As someone who's played Sonic Heroes for years, 11:42 this glitch was the most common for me. it could be game breaking if you know what to play around with. xD

Aside from the team mechanics, this game is the closest Sonic has ever come to recreating the classic game formula in 3D.
Makes me wonder if there's a mod for the game to remove the team mechanic. I do know that most levels are impossible after that, so those things have to be fixed too. It would be a massive mod but a great one.

It really depends on what this exactly means. In many regards SA1's sonic story is much closer to matching the classics.

It's awesome to see you back! I'm gonna shout out one glitch ya may have missed! If you go into 2P mode, use team Sonic and team Dark. Switch to the speed type for both players, line both Sonic and Shadow to face eachother. Now start jumping and homing attacking at the same time (Getting the timing right might take a bit of practice!). You'll hit and bounce off eachother. You can keep homing attacking eachother at the same time and traveling upwards a bit each time! Keep doing this long enough and you can make it outside of the skybox!
