These glitches kinda showed me how detailed the stages are in this game, pretty cool.
I'm surprised they actually bothered to render all of the background buildings, it looks beautiful
I mean to be fair... the maps are really small which means they should put a lot of detail in the background.

Hey guys, I know it’s been a while and I’m finally back. I’ve got a lot of other projects in the works, but this was a video I started working on last summer, along with several other games. I debated wether or not to ever finish it because of the lack of anything really that ‘broken’, but it would be weird not to do this Sonic game when I’ve already covered a lot of the others, so here it is.
Anyway, first episode of 2016, more to come, Enjoy :)

There's one glitch in Tropical Resort I discovered years ago:
In Act one at the final stretch of the level before those 3 rails, there's a checkpoint. I found out that if I stomp onto the pole on the right, it will make Sonic tilt upwards while still holding crouch. Then, if I have enough, I can boost my way over the invisible wall into an out of bounds area. I had it recorded once but I don't have that on me right now, it's been a long time.

You missed a glitch I discovered. Their's a certain buggy wall in Tropical Resort. If you boost on it it sends you flying backwards at an incredible speed as if you were teleporting.

Im pretty sure the reason for different Acts being loaded while you're playing one is because the devs had originally planned to make all of them one massive level, but that idea was cut decently late into development. May need to fact check that though.
That is abit disappointing, but I'm fine with what we got at least. I honestly suspect something like that to be the case with some of the weird placements in the game like a white wisp capsule at the end of Sweet Mountain Act 1.
@@spritvio639 Yeah, and since the idea was dropped late in deveploment, the "Acts" been on one whole level was most likey the result of leftover build...🤔

y'know, the one where if you fall onto a slope or curve and press right (or left, depending on the direction of the slope / curve) as soon as you land, sonic sorta breaks his speed cap? as far as i know, it only works in the tush trilogy, but it might work in the advance series tho.

I played this game on my Wii as a kid. This game also came with sonic unleashed. I loved them both and was obsessed. I heard this theme song and all the nostalgia came running back to me. Thanks Andy!

If you keep switching grind rails (left right left right) over and over, you gradually gain loads of speed similarly to m-speed

+Shiny Swalot Whatever is the first computer program that can be considered a 'game'. It's possible a program's too simple to glitch, but at that point I don't think they can be considered a game.
Sonic colors just got an UPDATE, now you can get these glitches WITH NO EFFORT AT ALL!!!

I love this game! and the soundtrack is so good! I was listening to it earlier today. So it's fitting that this episode was about Colors.

+Onaterdem God the fun I had with that glitch! I remember using it in Empire City and at the mach speed section on the bridge where the robot is chasing you. I manage to some how break away from the part that makes you enter the next bridge and ended up going back to the part where you were being chased! I know this may not make any sense but trust me it is as crazy and random as it sounds! XD
Mike Anthony Oh believe me I know the effects... You know how you warp to another section in the end of Jungle Joyride Day 1? I D-Speeded right after that warp and I *TELEPORTED TO THE END OF THE STAGE*. Could never do it again. NEVER.

One thing I prefer about the older games on the 8- and 16-bit consoles is that there are many more visual bugs. When glitching those consoles, it's like "seizure warning, people."
Boy oh boy! I want you fellas to do Colors Ultimate now. It is SEEPING with visual bugs (Some got patches which is good but the game still looses it quite a lot of times

+newmantrophy It's because they gave the same version of the game to all of North America, including Canada.
Makes sense, must just be 3DS games that come with the giant "Fr" note on the front in Canada only, but still the same game for both countries.

Quick question, am I the only one who thinks this game is eh? I suppose my main issue is for a Sonic game, it felt like it was designed to be rather slow with a lot of precise platforming, and is not really conducive to that constant motion found in Unleashed's day stages or Generations. Oh, and a majority of the wisp powers are not all that fun to me.
(NOTE: I am not insulting anyone who likes this game. Just curious if anyone feels the same as me)

That's not what I meant. What I meant is that the game doesn't lend itself to the fast paced motion that other Sonic games do. In most Sonic games, if you stop moving or are going slowly, you screwed up. In Colors, I could be doing everything correctly, yet still end up moving slowly. At least that was my experience. For example, switches you have to stand on to make them turn, cube puzzles that require you to switch cube on and off multiple times, or hover which is just slow all around.
I suppose my point is I was personally disappointed because I loved the speed given in Sonic Unleashed day stages, and was expecting/hoping for that in this game, and was disappointed. And while it's true that the Genesis games had that, I find most of my memories with those games come from the really fast paced moments. Let's just go with I was disappointed by this, since by the time Colors came out, Unleashed had given me pretty much my ideal Sonic level in the day stages. And will say I was disappointed, not that I think it was bad.
+MaskOfIce Sonic Colors is definitely the 3D Sonic game most like the 2D ones, and some people like it that way, others a little less. I personally prefer Generations and the Unleashed day stages by a mile, but Colors can still be a blast as well. To be honest I'm not sure if I could confidently call Sonic Colors a 3D Sonic game in the first place; at least half of the game is 2D anyways.
+MaskOfIce I honestly like Colors, but it's not the best thing ever to me.
The reasons why I don't like it as much are for these two reasons
1: The game is way too easy. A lot of the challenge comes from the Red Rings and kinda picky S-Ranks, but otherwise, it's pretty damn easy. I'll say it looks beautiful, sounds amazing, and plays great, but it was too easy for my liking. It doesn't need to be Touhou or Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts or Megaman 7, but it can use some more difficulty in its design.
2: The game just feels a bit too short. There's six really quick acts, but in my honest opinion, I like acts that are three minutes to five minutes, or hell, even six minutes. If I'm having a ton of fun, I don't mind 3 longer acts instead of 6 really small and short ones. I enjoy Sonic Heroes so much because the levels were beefier. There was more to do in the levels and some characters had different level lengths. Team Rose was the shortest, while Dark was the beefiest. Now I don't want every act to be 10 minutes long, but if a level is that long, it needs to feel like the final level, or a challenge of the player's skill. This is why Eggmanland is easily one of my favorite stages in Unleashed. It's difficult, it's long, it's brutal, but it's meant to test the player. It is one of the best final levels, and it's meant to show how far the player as come. It's long because it's Eggman's ambitions coming true, and you have to conquer it using the past knowledge you've had from the past zones. Should every level be an Eggmanland? God no, but if it's the final level, it kind of has a right to be that long.
Speed wasn't really a factor in what I enjoy in a Sonic game. I love Sonic Lost World because it has that difficulty I look for, the soundtrack, level design, and everything just fits Sonic in that game. It's not a Mario Galaxy clone, it was more-so Sonic X-Treme with your platforming tropes, like the 2nd level desert trope, tropical trope, ice trope, etc. Calling Lost World a Mario ripoff is like calling Mario Galaxy a ripoff of Mad Space. They both have gameplay in outer space that has your controls be different, so it's a ripoff. Or it's like calling every platformer in the history of anything a Mario ripoff. Things will be taken from other games, but that doesn't mean it's a ripoff, it's just having aesthetics that's typical in most classic platformers. And again, it feels nothing like Mario Galaxy to me.
So I don't hate Colors, but it's not in my Top 5. Top 10, yeah, but definitely not Top 5.
