After watching this video comparison i must say the iPhone X still preformed pretty well against the Canon G7X Mark 2. My question now is, is it really worth it to dish out another $650 for the G7X if you already have an iPhone X? Is the G7X mark 2 a minor or huge upgrade from the iPhone X?
iLuvTrading the x wins in most parts the staplisation and the focus is the same the color is the same I cant see deff may be in the saturation in the g7x is more than the x the mic is verry good

Canon G7X mark II is better than iPhone X
Both are awesome.
Why is the zoom on the g7xii slow and manual? Is there a way to make it faster and automatic?
The iPhone actually has a "front mic" and a "back mic", so when you record with the back camera pointing away from your face, it uses the "back mic" and your voice will sound muffled. But when you use the front camera (selfie camera) and talk to it, your voice will sound normal. I think they're actually the same mic but it does some noise reduction magic. AFAIK you can't turn off this feature with the default camera app, but you can use an app like FiLMiC Pro to choose which mic you want to use.

I think the selfie on the Canon good very good in the beginning. The iPhone x was definitely whoopin a#@ in the realm of zooming. I I think it has a lot of potential with closeup shots.

They both did a good job. I’m favoring the iPhone. Stabilization a little better on the iPhone.

I love this camera
Videos might be similar, though I think that the image stabilisation was turned off or at least lowered on the G7 X. However, photos are incomparable - a real camera with full optics and bigger sensor will always have better results, if set properly. I have a Galaxy S8 now and I am about to buy the G7 X because even though the S8 shoots great photos, it is no match for cameras like the G7 X or Sony RX 100. - the overall level of detail is simply better...

The iPhone x still performs great! As the quality is just as good as the cannon G7X But Unfortunatey the audio for iPhone x Is Not as good as the Cannon as you can tell. But Both Have great Quality but on this one I'm gonna go for the CannonG7X!
I think you should’ve done a wind test on the sound. I bet the G7X picks up a lot more wind than the iPhone.
That is my big fear about it. I wish they would've just added a mic bracket
Raider Life Does the GX7 have a microphone port? I use the Sony RX100 which has stellar visuals but awful sound and no audio port.
But there is more good with g7x such as better audio and better lighting than iphone

The Canon is the better camera but is there a way to silently zoom while taking a video? The clicking sound as the zoom control is rotated just destroys the audio haha.
i believe so. should be possible to switch the click off on the Mark II (not on the Mark I though). I also wonder if there isn't a more efficient way of zooming altogether e.g. with a rocker button or something. I don't think the guy had the camera for too long when doing this. Pretty limited comparison as it is.
Pic is better on Canon but stabilization seems better on IPhone X. Sound is definitely better on Canon, seems a little muffled on The IPhone X. TFS😊

i prefer the iphone audio...canon audio always sounds like hallway or corridor audio
iPhone has a serious disadvantage in the stabilizer.

That’s exactly what I’ve saying all along. But I do have some friends that are professional videographers and they say g7x... cause it has better dynamic range. Also they say g7x if in controlled environment.
