Thanks for the video. Although I never wish anyone to have to go through a failed marriage, I also know that I would not appreciate my Filipina wife now if I did not have that hard experience. I have often thought that my Filipina wife is God’s blessing for years of suffering. Because of my past I am so much more aware of all the little wonderful things about her. I’m guessing you appreciate Rob more now than perhaps you would have if you met without having gone through the difficult times.
I’m so happy you and Rob both found each other. Truly God’s plan.

My girlfriend is married. I will admit I did not know that divorce was not an option in the Philippines. She has been separated for over 5 years. I really don’t want to be married again so initially the fact she was married but permanently separated did not bother me. Now I’m concerned about being arrested so all our time together is spent in rented condos and mostly on other islands. I plan on getting a legal separation document before I move her in with me. It’s expensive and he may not agree. She does believe he has another.

That’s a good strategy if he is with another woman or has had another child and is not vindictive there should be no problem. There’s the law and then there’s the way the law is forced, but I think you have a prudent path forward

Do it legally, file an annullment I think 200-300k thousand pesos but for 2-3years. I am.separated also for almost 11 years ,saving for an annullment but I found out that my ex husband is dead I think 3 years or 4 years already during covid. If the husband of your girlfriend have a girlfriebd or live in partner. Your gf just talk to her ex husband to have a mutual agreement and your gf will go to Public atty's office to file an annullment.
One thing if your gf will file a divorced in hongkong for example she works here, she can get marry in another country but still she is still married in the philippines. ( my friend dis this here in hongkong) and get married here. Now,she is in NZ

Your most welcome. If you want a lawyer make sure it's a legit and don't charge you to the highest level😊. Psychological incapacity is the most common grounds they file for annullment. Public Atty Office is a government lawfirm they can help your girlfriend and can save some expenses too! Just make sure your gf has relatives to accompany her as a witness.
Wish you the best and Congraats you found the love of your life 😊

Glad to hear you had luck and can soon can remarry. Understood many of your points, but I must correct something you said. As several lawyers have confirmed on TH-cam as guests , both married women and foreigners are legally in danger of arrest. Face almost 7 years in jail for both of them. You may not have meant to say just she faces liabilities, but obviously, both would be afoul of this law. Good luck finishing wedding plans.😊😊😊

Hi guys, I really enjoy your videos and have learned quite a bit from them. I do have a question about the annulments. I have been chatting with a wonderful Filipina lady for a couple of months now. She is married and has told me that from the start, but her husband left her after only 3 months of marriage, when she found out she was pregnant. That was 20 years ago ( her daughter is 20), and im just wondring how difficult it would be for her to get the annulment?
    Thanks!!

    • @FlyMeToThePhilippines
      @FlyMeToThePhilippines  22 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

After long period of separation, it’s easier if the husband doesn’t fight the annulment it’s easier. It requires typically one year salary for professional like a teacher or a policeman.

Hello Chrissy and Rob; I wish you a nice wedding and happy life together. From your previous video, I take your husband was at the time a junior officer in the AFP, a good financial situation for a young man (I found currently PhP51,829.00 / month for a 2nd Lt), so able to finance the legal proceedings. Do you know if the officer community is conservative enough to press its members to have a clear and honorable marital status? Could a reputation suffer if one is known to have left wife and son for another woman? Here divorce is very common for officers due to frequent deployments, but womanizing does no good for one's career.

thanks, Chrissy, for this video. I've heard about this issue with the Filipinas and the marriage problems. Seems to me, the Philippines is just too toxic for expats to live. a vacation maybe, but to live there, I'm not so sure. All I hear is "be careful who you date", "watch where you put your money", "pay attention where you walk", "skin prices", the list goes on and on. I don't understand why the Filipino can abandon his wife and start another family, while the wife is stuck still being married to the slob. Seems to me very one sided.

My GF has been separated over 10 years from her husband, we tried the annulment route and the cost isn't fun, but the worst is the people. What I mean by that is they need to call witnesses for the annulment and none of them want to step up and do the right and sign a disposition. The crab mindset really sucks over there.
So we are holding out for Divorce to pass as quickly as possible. It's past its 3rd reading now and I think it's waiting to be signed by the president.
Don't worry too much about her being married, your only concern would be if the husband knows about you and is vindictive. But let us look at this a different way, a highly religious country where there is no divorce, so these Filipino men marry these women, get them pregnant, because using condoms and abortion is a sin, and then abuse them, cheat on them, and then dump them.
The women are then trapped by the religion, but they all ignore being married and find others to live and sleep with. The country really needs to get its shit together for the people's sake.

  • @ssing7113

Someone correct me if I’m wrong. If you fly to another country you can file divorce there. Then bring back paperwork to Philippines
No country can stop you from filing a divorce and some are better the others ( dominion republic you can get an emergency divorce in 24 hours 😂 )
Also you can ask the woman for her ID or passport to be shown to lawyer and they can get the record if she is actually married or not so you do not engage in illegal behavior
I would never go near a married woman. It’s against the law and can end you up in jail when the boyfriend snaps and calls the police on you…..

@@FlyMeToThePhilippines maybe it’s a small problem for me being so finance oriented. I guess it helped me get where I am. Retiring at 49 and not collecting SS till 66 I had to make an income for myself so I wouldn’t spend all my money. I did that in spades. I live a great life have had multiple homes here in the Philippines. Now not so much into real estate anymore just a couple condos I own just living my life. Traveling is big for me. My wife and I love to travel a lot in Asia. We go to the US once per year for a month. Next month off to Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam for a month. But yes the more money I accumulate the more I can leave my wife and daughter. Thank god, knock wood I’ve made some good investments. Sorry to babble on but that’s my story.
