Hi Rob! Another excellent video. You always give the best information about living in the Philippines. I have a beautiful 36 year old college educated nurse. She has never been married or had any children. She is absolutely crazy about me and I her. I am coming to the Philippines in December to spend the month and spend Christmas with her and her family. So I credit you and Chrissy with my success in finding him. Thanks! John

I'm 68 and my Filipina is 39 and we're living together in Cebu. I met her 2 years ago and she takes care of me and loves me like no one before. I feel so fortunate to have restarted my new life in the Philippines with a younger woman. My options in the West were just terrible!

Great videos Rob, I’ve learned a ton thank you. I wanted to comment on the living arrangement you and the family now have. I personally grew up in Los Angeles but I was the odd duck that was in a 3 generational household, my maternal grandmother lived with us and helped raise me. I think that’s one of the greatest gifts I was given as a child to have her love and wisdom at my disposal. It helped make me the man I am today so good for you in seeing that and having Chrissy’s dad and wife live there with the 3 of you.

Way to bring your A game Rob! As I sit ALONE in my mid-century modern hillside home overlooking LA-- working to tie things up for a January move to the Philippines-- I'm drinking the Kool-Aid brother! I'm chugging it. Your channel is like comfort food. I'm 63, never been 10 lbs overweight in my whole life and my first job in LA was a bartender at Chippendales. I look 50 and still can get the young ones from time to time but it's all smoke and mirrors lol. For the long term it's more like 45-55 and dealing with the issues we Western men all know and don't love. There's no coffee at Starbucks and a first date in Newport Beach is $250- $500+ easy. Mostly I am ready for a big change and an international adventure. I know you said 45-60 days out, but like someone else commented I'm lonely and joined PinaLove early. OMG! Four days in and I was ready to tap out. As soon as I log on I'm overwhelmed like a Zombie apocalypse. And I honestly can't comprehend the filters these girls use, it's like you said there will be that one picture that informs your decision. But the desperation? And the glimpses of poverty? At times it's like a gut punch knowing how easy I can change all that. Another big one is the lies-- I just don't do it and never have, so that's been a huge shock. I actually came to the conclusion of a sweet spot of 26-32 on my own, but you articulate it better. I would be open to a new family, but I had a vasectomy and don't think I want to go through all that and there's no guarantee of success. Then there's the Filipina having to work part-- yikes, I'm really not going to like sitting around alone when I can solve that as well-- something I know is a big no no and vow to resist. Today's sermon of patience and persistence couldn't have come at a better time for me. Thank you both for the love you put out in the world-- sincerely.

How old is too old in the Philippines is a bit difficult to answer since some think a 10-year age gap is too much, while others have no limit. Personally, I’m 40 years older than my wife, but good chemistry, love, and two children with promising futures here in Spain where we live make me not bother to philosophize about the age gap. If you have a wife with a good heart and honest intentions, it usually works out well, and the children make me feel young too. The age gap is a recurring topic on TH-cam channels in the Philippines, and it seems to concern foreigners far more than the locals.

Having first moved to the Philippines in 1961 at age 7, Rob is correct. I returned in my early 50's and met my wife who is 24 years my junior. Finding a wife is a contact sport, you have to make many contacts. The only advice I would like to add is becareful if the women is married. In the Philippines, living with a married women is ileagal. You can be arested, deported but most likely extorted. To get married to you, she will need a single certificate proving she can get married. Many filipinos do not get married but still have children from a previous relationship. If you get serious with a girl you may want her to get a singlle certificate to give you peace of mind. Enjoy the Journey

And get those looks.i guess the big age gap is in the southen part of philippines, like cebu are Davao, my friends from England and Australia are in there late 60s and so are there wives, they married around 10 years ago. They ask why i get a wife that younger, i say, i never ask her age when i met her at church. I did know her age till we start talking about marriage about 18 months in our relationship.

What you’re talking about is REAL love vs ROMANTIC love. Accepting each other as you are. Money is important but living within your means and being happy. The old fashioned love in PH culture is conducive to being happy for what you have , even though simple.

Thanks for clarifying the transactional equation between you both. With the added color of Rob’s true provider status- cash allowances, raising another man’s kid, in-laws as roommates, etc. - there is now more clarity to their dynamic .
Which is great. For when you look deep under the hood, all relationships are a transactional exchange of value. Value = money, status, youth, beauty, etc, etc…
Would it be reasonable for Rob to spend his days wondering if Chrissy and her fam would stick with him if his net worth and cash flow dropped to ZERO? Of course. But so what? Enjoy the ride.
Would it be reasonable for Chrissy to wonder if Rob’s primary driver is her youth and beauty? Of course. But so what? Enjoy the ride.
It’s a fair and balanced exchange of value,… so long as it remains in the Philippines.

Columbus 7275 you are so cynical because you are afraid to do what others of us have done and made a change in our lives like most men like you can't believe. What Rob is really describing is an "old fashioned" relationship where the man is the provider and the woman is everything else. Those values no longer exist in the US - whatever - you can still find it in the Philippines. You can keep sitting in your easy chair and hollering at the TV or you can start living a better life - it's your choice.

The info about social security paying 75% for the first kid and 50% for the second child a retiree has or adopts after reaching full retirement age is fantastic and referenced on the social security website. I would definitely choose this option in six years at age 67 if I can but there's one detail that has to be researched further first...I also read somewhere there's a 5 year residency in the US residency requirement for the child/children to qualify. If true, we would have to risk westernizing our filapina at least 5years to gain this fantastic benefit for the child. Please let me know if you know more info about this. Thanks so much!

Age gap acceptance varies and depends on many factors but in my opinion, the main age gap factor is the lady's age. As the woman's age is higher, the Age gap factor beocmes less relevant.
If i had to guess woman's age should be 30 min and man's age 60 max.
But again, it all depends on them and the factors in play.

One question though, you mentioned going for a college educated girl so I assume you mean college and above to degree and masters degree ? Also does that mean avoiding all high school educated girls?
Or is it more important that they have a job and good level of job ? Do I go for a teacher or nurse or an office girl ? What about low level jobs like washing clothes and production jobs or working in shops ? It seems if she earns less my bill increases but at some level she has enough money and doesn’t need me anyway.

It doesn’t mean you have to stick to your target you can deviate and if you meet a girl who has a job or even a girl who doesn’t have a job, but she has all the other characteristics you’re looking for you can make an exception certainly an educated woman is gonna provide you with better companionship And possibly better decision-making, but here in the Philippines people have been prevented from going onto a good education because of lack of funds and you’ll find them to be quite intelligent so you have to keep an open mind

This is a very true video in the correct light. Anyone reading please continue to read. Instead of me praising and saying this is a wonderful and helpful video I will say that it is true only with a foreigner. 30 or even 40 years age gap if you are a foreigner as the glue that holds it apart is MONEY. You even say it here in this video. Parents move in, child is in a private school, if a baby sitter or house maid is needed it is all taken care of at the expense of the MAN, foreigner paying for it. No one ever, ever sees an elderly WOMAN married to a 30 years or 40 years younger man. Wake up guys. This is just old men wanting to believe this is true that a young 25 or 30 year old loves them. This is the only couple I have seen that has the woman in most the videos. Most women have their own channel and use their body as a lure to get more views. I have seen on this channel at the end of some videos some very slight such. I assume in a year it will be like any other channel with her having her own channel and hardly ever being on this one and a lot of "skin" for views. Let' see how it plays out. I know this, no 20 or 30 year old man watching this video would ever,,,,, or could ever,,,, fall in love with a 60, 65, 70 year old woman and marry the old woman no matter what. It is ALL about the man and his money. If it is a tradition that the children pay for and keep up their parents then why is it that NO child pays for and keeps up a foreigner and his wife when they reach the age of 18 years old? They never do. It all falls on the foreign man, NEVER a foreign woman, to keep up the entire family and no one ever returns the favor. The old man foreigner dies and the family either lives off what he left them or they move on and find another foreign man to drain their money and continue the cycle.

A very good video about the age gap relationships. I am 74, living in Texas, and coming to Iloilo in November to live. I'm single but am not looking for a partner at this moment. I'm not sure if I want to be in a relationship again, and my plan is to move there, get acclimated to the weather, figure out my budget, and just relax. As far as age gap, I have no desire to hook up with a young Filipina in her 20's mainly because she needs to get that young mentality out of her before I even think of dating. My thoughts, at my age, find a young Filipina of 40+, if with kids, they are not young children. I really don't want to get remarried but would consider living together as if we were married. Is this something a Filipina would consider or is marriage the only avenue they have. My son told me not to go online looking for any Filipina's but to wait until I get my boots on the ground and settled into my condo for a while. He's worried I'll be taken advantage of, mainly due to my soft heart. I've already drained my savings over the years taking care of my brother with medical bills, paying off his bad debts, helping my son with housing for him and his family, etc. All I have left is about $15000 USD when I get there. I'm keeping my medicare active for now, not sure about the future yet. My budget will be $1500 per month to start.

Living together (in the Philippines they call that: live-in partner) becomes more accepted but most people frown upon that scenario. Dont forget: the majority of the PH population is Christian/Catholic. Although PH youngsters do have pre-marital sex (without using contraceptives) and often leading to a pregnancy. Every person is different for emergency funds, but for a single man, I would suggest at least $20,000 is the minimum amount you want to have. ## Veterans Memorial Medical Center
The **Veterans Memorial Medical Center** (formerly known as **Veterans Memorial Hospital**) is a hospital located in Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines. It was established in 1955 with full assistance from the U.S. government under the U.S. Veterans Administration to provide quality hospitalization, medical care and treatment to Filipino veterans[5].
The hospital originally treated patients who suffered from service-connected disabilities arising from their service with the USAFFE, recognized guerrilla units, Philippine Scouts, and Philippine Commonwealth Army. This was later extended to include Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) retirees and their dependents[5].
The 55-hectare land was originally intended to be the location of the new Malacañang Palace in the original masterplan of Quezon City in 1939[5].
      ## Manila VA Outpatient Clinic
The **Manila VA Outpatient Clinic** is the only VA health care facility located in a foreign country. It is situated on U.S. Embassy property in Pasay City, Metro Manila[6][9].
U.S. Veterans residing in or visiting the Philippines may receive care and services for a service-connected disability at the Manila VA Outpatient Clinic. It provides limited inpatient and non-VA care, which is provided through the Foreign Medical Program[6].
The Manila VA Outpatient Clinic is currently providing limited in-person medical appointments, with a focus on completing specialty care services. Most primary care and mental health services are provided via telephone appointments[6].

You know I love your and Chrissy’s channel, but a few things in this video didn’t sit right. Most of the video was spot on, but here are a few things I would challenge:
    1. You talked about “Leftover” women. That concept holds in lots of places, especially in Asia, but it’s actually predominately considered to be 27 not 32. Is Chrissy a “Leftover,” hell no! She is a charming, beautiful, hardworking, and smart woman. Why talk about it at all? My wife was 37 when we started dating. She is charming, beautiful, hardworking, and smart, just like Chrissy, except she was 6-7 years older. I just don’t see the need to put everything into boxes, and I believe it's unnecessary and even harmful to do so.
    2. You have this focus on a sweet spot age range (That varies with the age of them somewhat). Why let men figure it out for themselves? They may find an amazing woman who is in her early 40s or even 50s, which would be perfect for them. The same thing about whether she has children or the number of children. Talking about the implications of whether she has kids or can have kids makes sense, but why define for men whether they should date a woman with one child but not two? Again boxes.
    3. The whole discussion of social security benefits if a US citizen really deserves its own video, or two, or three because it's some simple stuff, but with brutal consequences if you count on it or get it wrong. The easy thing is to point viewers to the SSA site. For families, it's www.ssa.gov/family, and the other relevant one for families is www.ssa.gov/survivor, which both spell out in easy-to-understand language what the rules are. For example- Spouses MAY be eligible if married for at least one year and caring for a child 15 and younger or a child of any age with a disability. For the children themselves, it stops at age 17, unless they are still in K-12 education. Also, It’s any age for children who have a disability. Beyond this, the SSA defines eligibility as your genetic children, and they say stepchildren, adopted children, grandchildren, and step-grandchildren MAY be eligible. So, it's not a blanket benefit to age 22, as you said in the video. There is an additional set of rules for “Survivors,” in which case your spouse and children may be eligible for benefits if you die. Your wife, though, needs to be 60 years old typically. Then the third category is spousal retirement benefits, but with the big caveat that your wife must have lived in the USA for five years. As I said, this stuff potentially benefits our families when living abroad, but it’s complicated.
As always, thank you for all the hard work you and Chrissy do, putting these together.

Hi Paul, thanks for your feedback in terms of having a target. It’s always good to aim for something. It doesn’t mean that you can’t have exceptions to rules and you won’t be quality people who don’t fit exactly in what you were targeting. You could meet a wonderful woman without an education you could meet a woman with an education who’s not a wonderful woman in terms of the Social Security benefits you’re exactly right. It is crazy complicated and I need to find an expert or someone like yourself who really really understands all the opportunities and options, especially when it comes to children, maybe make a video on that

In my case I thought it was an exageration for me at 70 to date a 42 year old. I looked and found a wonderful Filipina in her mid 50's. Also, if you intend to get a visa for your partner one day - most countries will not approve a gap of more than 15 or 20 years. I do understand the fun of having a 30 year old on your arm and I wish you both well. You guys seen to have a good relationship and chemistry however most 70 + year old men would not be able to relate to a girl in her 30's.

And there are plenty of people, especially in the West, that will disagree with your acceptable age-gap formula. Fortunately we all get to choose for ourselves.

I disagree with your disagreement. There is *_no formula_* for age gapiosis. It comes down to personality compatibility. It's wrong of you to age discriminate young women based upon your Western World experience. And to say you'd rather make love to a 50 year old woman - rather than a 25 year old woman - is completely stupid and totally pious.

The acceptable age to who ?. Sorry, finding the ideal partner shouldn’t be dating by numbers. I think your formula is flawed at best, unnecessarily restrictive at worst.

@@TravellingMan20 It isn't my formula. I am not the author of it. It comes from what the Filipinos see as appropriate. To each his own. If a 70 year old man wants to date a 20 year old and it is consensual than all is well

Great video as always Rob. As someone also in a large age gap relationship, I feel that age difference in relationships is given too much significance. The high divorce rate in Western countries, where people typically marry someone within a few years of their own age, tends to disprove that idea. I’m closer to my young Filipina than I have been with any of my Western women of similar age. It’s never too late to start enjoying your life.

This is an interesting video. However, you need to check what you say about Social Security. In the Philippines, only US citizens can receive SS. I am not sure about how it might work for a child unless the child is your biological child. I am not sure about adoption. But a spouse is not eligible unless she or he is a US citizen. That's true with my Filipina wife. Check out the accuracy of your claim.

You preach it better than I do. I've been telling guys here for years about all the topics you covered. Few believe. I married a Filipina 17 years ago. It lasted better than most marriages in USA. I would do it again, but this time, move myself to the Philippines. Real worth in this world is health. Real food, exercise and sunshine, and you will need no medicines.

You cannot be sure of that. When you reach 75 then tell us again about your experience. If she’s a GOD fearing woman I’ll believe you. Only few were able to find a true gem Filipina. Before you jump into marriage you have to observe her in all aspects of her personality. If the Filipina is fond of buy me this or buy me that, never marry her coz she’s a very materialistic woman. What if the time comes that you don’t have money anymore? The possibility of being dumped by her is 100%. Choose a woman who will love you and stay with you through thick and thin no matter what. Most of all you pray and ask GOD’s guidance if that Filipina is right for you otherwise a sign that you’re not fit for each other.if possible learn their language so you won’t easily be fooled by her/family.

Fortunately each person and their partner get choose for themselves what the acceptable age-gap is. Go where you're treated best and valued most. Then add to that a very affordable lifestyle and Visa, English speaking, and tropical islands and weather. Even the brain-dead can figure that one out cause it's a no-brain'r. Peace and Love, B Goat

I love your videos Rob, you and Chrissy. I have to say though, I have an odd feeling about your story this time. I kind of get the feeling you want live in services instead of family, the way you describe your relationship with CJ and Chrissy's father/wife. You are his stepfather now, it doesn't surprise me that at first you treated him like he was your son. But this newer sort of hands off approach feels off. I get that maybe that is their culture but it just feels funky to me, no offense intended.
