This really is a great interview. Thank you and please produce more content just like this...life lessons learned for others to learn from! Thanks Gio!
You guys points your making have solidified my choice of where I want to live which is BGC it’s close to the international airport and the VA hospital without living in Manila and having everything I want within walking distance.
If I wasn't married already I wouldn't never come to the Philippines. People talk about living for one thousand dollars a month I have never had to spend one thousand dollars a month to live and I live in north Carolina the funny thing about moving back to the Philippines is my wife yesterday said if we move back we will miss the start of the hockey season My wife sleeps with Bobby Orr. ITS A BLANKET SHAPE LIKE HIM
Hi Gio. This is a great 👍 video,..first time I saw it. It has opinions of you three on different subjects that expats encounter when they visit or stay in the Philippines. It would be great if possible Gio, if you could get these same two guys today, if they're still around in the Philippines,..and do a "follow up video" and ask them the same questions today and see if and what has changed for them since this video. Thanks and keep up the great work. Take care.

My Venti Carmel Macchiato is $9.79 it was $8 last year. Iced coffee same kind and size $7.44 pulled these numbers off my Starbucks app as I typed this.
I don't get why food prices in the US have gone nuts as compared to general inflation. I'm in Canada, and I don't have the Starbucks app, but a web search says a Venti Carmel Macchiato is $4.75 CAD, which sounds about right. Yet the exchange rate is about 1 Canadian dollar to 74 US cents.
About coffee, Gio is correct. Pay Space Magazine shows the average tall latte Starbucks price by country. USA: $3.26. Philippines: $3.26. This is 2023 data. Of course, prices vary according to location within a country, but taking the average as a whole, the United States and the Philippines are equal. As a percentage of daily median income, the USA was listed as the #1 most affordable, whereas the Philippines ranked as one of the most expensive. Looking at just the total cash price though, same. Meaning some things, such as coffee and iPhones in the Philippines might be more expensive than anticipated. Many other things though can be good bargains.
On your death bed you won't regret that you didn't work more, or make more money, or spend it on BS, you'll regret the time you didn't spend with good people
Thanks Geo for all the great information. So much to know about moving to the Philippines.. That's why you need boots on the ground.. This January will be my 4th time to Philippines ❤
😎👍🇺🇲 Personally. The idea of retiring overseas is all about adventure and affordability. Chasing girls is low on the priority list. Filipinas have their own special kind of issues. Housing is maybe 1/3 of what it costs here in the PNW. Unless you get a hour or two way from a major city. A studio apartment is $1200+, something decent is going to be more like $1500 and up. The average person is going to be living in survival mode most of the time. Not much different than living in the Phils on a $600 a month. You can do it, but it sucks. My superficial plan is. 6 months there bouncing around and return home to the US for an assessment. Hopefully by the time retirement comes. I have a better idea of a long term plan. 👍
The Philippines is one of the safest places to encounter wild animals. The majority of those bit by snakes are rice workers. I have killed a cobra and though you have to be careful, they are no match for an armed human. City life is only a glimpse of the Philippines. Rural life is so full of life. To those who think they must live next to a hospital, go to Thailand or Malaysia. But, think about this: 3/4's of all medical bills in the USA are paid out during the last two years of life. Why waste that money? Get right with God, with your health and rejoice in the day you die. Prepare for it and prepare your Filipina to be blessed after you leave this earth.
Another great Video. Thank you. All of those mentioned are true. That's why we are really thinking well where really to settle in Philippines. All the best to the three of you. True that philippines, if you really think deep, you want memories than riches. It is where true wealth is.
All three of you made me laugh at the end 😢 Do you really think your Filipina would like it if you said you are just friendly to other women 😮 no way Filipina ladies are the most jealous 😮😊😮

Very interesting conversation, now you need to give us an update: where are they now and have they changed any of their opinions?
Great idea!

I recently bought an Americano coffee at a Starbucks like shop and paid over $7.00.
Wow

Is this old video
Starbucks coffee in Atlanta is about $5.
I got a medium iced coffee and a chocolate croissant, it was $13. In Arkansas...
Starbucks daily 7-10 dollars

Makes me glad I don't drink coffee. The amount of money I've saved!
I make mine at home in the morning. It's great.
sunglasses ...ughh
Funny jokes about older guys. Mirror mirror on the wall 😅
That is right we are definitely getting older.
They aren't that old. Not like many of the ugly broke 65+ somethings I see daily in Phils 😂
I'm not a fan of Paul.
He reminds me of the Angeles City type.
