This really was such a big help. Thank you. It’s wonderful that I have the Clearly Perfect Slotted Trimmer - not broken, lol. Going to be wonderful. You have made my day!
Thank you for showing this method and the math behind it. Perfect timing. I’m in the process of making a quilt with a lot of geese. Will be doing this method.
Thank you. By far the BEST Method for making Flying Geese I've ever seen.. I tried to judge the border of the green fabric outside the white. It appeared to be approximately 3/4 inch larger on all 4 sides. Does it matter if for the sake of consistency I keep the 'wing (green) fabric 1/2 inch larger on all sides or would 3/4 be better for the final trimming?
I knew that, but I don’t think I explained it properly. Or maybe that was before I knew it. 🤔 totally makes sense when you think about flying geese migrating. ❤️
Eleanor Burns quilt show on PBS was a blast to watch. She was really funny and really good.

How do I know the size of the squares if i want to make a larger or smaller unit, there seems to be a lot of waste 😊
If you go to my webpage that is linked in the description, it has the math so you can figure out what size of squares you need for different size FG.

Hi Ashley… how much white fabric should I buy? Thanks!
You’ll need about an 1 1/2 yds.
Found it. I googled it. Didn’t see it in my playlist for the beginner quilt.
That's so weird. I'll check it out.
Does this method work with directional fabrics? What if I want all my stripes going vertical? TIA!
Yes you can! I released a video going over it this morning:

Clever, but I prefer a no waste of fabric method
I switch between which is mine favorite. 🤷♀️
Where do I get your pattern?
There’s a link in the description box.
The white part is actually the “goose’, not the background…
I knew that, but I don’t think I explained it properly. Or maybe that was before I knew it. 🤔 totally makes sense when you think about flying geese migrating. ❤️
Buying Eleanor Burns flying geese rulers would be way easier & quicker....
I haven’t seen them, but I’ll look into them, thanks!
