I just wanted to say, I'm a 50 yr old beginner. I've been binge-watching so many videos but you are by far the best teacher. Thank you. You deserve these 💐
@CarolinaMoore Yes ma'am, I sure have! I believe that you are the first quilting channel that I have subscribed to or even left a comment on. Lol I only have one tiny suggestion. If you could include beginner-friendly somewhere in your videos that would make it easier for us newbies to find you, that would be awesome. Also a Playlist titled something similar. After watching this one, I immediately checked your Playlist in search of it.
I love the look of the disappearing 9 patch. It looks like magic. Currently I am sewing disappearing 4 patch blocks from a charm pack I bought. ❤ Thank you.
My friend sent me 15 of her husband's old shirts, and she wants them made into 5 quilt tops for her 5 grandsons. They're pretty bland (he's NOT a flamboyant kind of guy LOL), so I think this would add some interest to the quilt tops. I've not done a lot of quilting, so anything I can find that's fairly easy but looks really good is great. Probably gonna try this, and a different design I found on another channel. Thank you so much for this!
Great video! Thank you. I love these kind of patterns where you can make up your own block based on your fabric stash. On my end, I had a buzzing sound randomly, as well as a few missed words, like your mic would go out for a second. It probably is my old iPad.
I really love these patterns that have been around, look terrific and are really easy! All the different “disappearing” type blocks are really fun to play with and even cut again! My guild makes quilts for a Children’s Crisis Center every year and it’s fun to find fabrics for all the ages - from very young f to around the middle teens or so, plus for boys and girls! Think I need to do some shopping!!!
OMG loved loved your video you went so slow and no music thank you !!! I wasn’t sure where to cut in the middle of the block 2 and a half quarter you said good to know !! I have subscribed to your channel !!!! You are such a good teacher !!! Thank you for sharing and caring !! Please keep your videos coming 👍🏿👏🏿🙌🏼👊⭕️❌💖🙏🏻🎈😇🥰💝😎😍❣️
In the process of making a disappearing 9 patch lap quilt for my son. Do you trim and square it up after you make the big block or after you cut the block into 4ths?
You can trim and square up as many times in the process as you want or need. 🥰 I tend not to square up, because that's my personal preference. But if things feel like they won't fit together well, it is time to square up! 🥰
Not sure. This is just a block tutorial, so you'd have to do the math based on how big of a queen sized quilt, and how many squares of each color in your 9-patch. 🥰
You can't do Quilt as you go with a disappearing 9 patch. When you cut the 9-patch, you'd also cut the batting. Then when sewing them back together, you'd have bulk in your seams and the seam showing in your backing. If you really wanted to quilt this as you go, you could make the blocks, then sew them into rows, and then do the quilt as you go method as you sew the rows together. I did this when making the pocket comfort quilt in this video: th-cam.com/video/DsMcbW0Xpkw/w-d-xo.htmlsi=fpVORt24aGWLQNly
Great video. I wish you didn't make me math to figure out the final block size. Apparently you took that wrong, based on your response back to me. I did figure out the final block size. I just felt it would have been supportive to provide the final block size for your viewers. Some people would rather know that information rather than have to figure it out. Apologizes for not making myself clearer in my initial post.

That's fantastic! I know my friend @staceyleecreative recently did several memory quilts, and will be posting videos on them soon! ❤️
@@CarolinaMoore oh I need to go find those videos!! Thank you for that heads up.

I had the same issue. Still a fun video, thank you!

Yes, some of these classic blocks are great go-to patterns! ❤️
I LOVE ❤❤❤ This!!! This will be my next quilt to make!! Thank you!
Yay!! It is SEW fun! ❤️
I love how informative and to the point you are! Thank you for this and also NO MUSIC! Haha.. it’s so distracting!
Brita Nelson does a lot with disappearing blocks also. Thank you for such clear instructions.
Love it,material is beautiful!!
I agree! I almost "saved" this fabric to make something else... but then it would still be sitting as a bundle... never becoming a quilt. 😥
Great video thanks

how much yardage is needed or a 3 color queen size?
Not sure. This is just a block tutorial, so you'd have to do the math based on how big of a queen sized quilt, and how many squares of each color in your 9-patch. 🥰
If I were to QAYG using this block, should I cut the blocks 5-1/4?

I guess you could have asked what the block size was, and I could have told you? Not sure I can "make" anyone do anything...
