I love the idea of this....but knowing how the block goes together, I would pay more attention to to the placement of the fabrics orientation and where the light blocks are in relationship to each other. Fork pins work great for the alignment of seams. Great tutorial!

They are both so cute. I like the one without the border best.

Thank you. By far the BEST Method for making Flying Geese I've ever seen.. I tried to judge the border of the green fabric outside the white. It appeared to be approximately 3/4 inch larger on all 4 sides. Does it matter if for the sake of consistency I keep the 'wing (green) fabric 1/2 inch larger on all sides or would 3/4 be better for the final trimming?

I like glide 40wt for quilting and 50 wt cotton (different brands like Gutterman, Aurifil, MSQC…) for piecing.

Super cute quilt! Super confusing instructions! You say, "first thing you need to do is press your fabric so it is nice and flat." Then you proceed to cut a super wrinkly piece of fabric! What am I missing here?? Guess I will head over to the blog and see if I can make sense of the quilt instructions there.
