I lived there between 1972 and 1976., as a young child. All I have is fond memories, I loved it there. I remember my brother and I were digging up live bullets and larger shells too, and bringing them into the house to show our mum! The next day, the army bomb disposal unit were in the garden with metal detectors. Great days.

1:15 Is that Binsey Walk? Can't tell whether that's Binsey Walk or Coralline Walk, especially with that footbridge. Trying to see if I can find that bit on Google Maps Street View before they pulled it all down, which only goes back as early as Sept 2008. Looks like a part of Binsey Walk had already been pulled down one end by the bridge roundabout leading to North Thamesmead by 2008. Wall panels were gone where people used to walk along to get from one part of the block to the other and was boarded off. Despite the number of times we used to drive past there, we didn't always take much notice of what was going on at Binsey or Coralline Walk as we didn't have friends or relative who lived there.

Always wanted to visit thamesmead since watching a clockwork orange back in the day, and later misfits & beautiful thing. I never got round to it and now I don't think there's much left of the estate is there?

If you get in quick the bit you need to visit is Binsey Walk where all the filming took place, due for demolition probably 2019...

Hope you got to visit. I think the path they walked along in Clockwork Orange is still there. And also the tower blocks on the opposite side of the lake. But most of the actual flats and architecture round where they were filming are all gone and construction on the new buildings are well underway. So that side is already unrecognisable anymore.
