SEAT MO ELECTRIC SCOOTER // First (Pillion) Ride Impressions!⚡️

- Hi Everyone,
A while back, when we still had sunshine... I had a Seat Mo dropped off!
Unfortunately for me, I got ill and couldn't ride it.
Fortunately for me, Mike was insured on it and we were still able to put it to the test!
The Seat Mo is an Electric Scooter, comparible to a petrol 125cc scooter.
One of the cool things about this scooter that we found different to the other brands we have tried was that as the battery percentage dips, it doesn't restrict your speed and make normal riding a nightmare!
I reckon we could have got 50 miles out of it until it was completely flat and that's WITH Mike treating it like a Sunday hooning scooter. I would expect in a city, a town, a home to local office skipper - I'd imagine you would probably get close to the expected, manufacturer stated mileage guide.
For anyone wanting to know about the location for breakfast - postcode below as promised.
Delph Scuba Diving Center,
Halfpenny Lane,
Heskin,
Chorley,
PR7 5PR
The breakfast was BANGING. (That means it was good :D)
Anyway, I hope you enjoy the vlog!

Hey Guys and Girls!
For clarity, of course I'm aware that BMW (A car manufacturer) has a CE04 electric scooter. What I meant was a car manufacturer who dont already have an established motorcycle range 😊
...but ~11.000€
You are truly formidable: You've managed to make Mike say intelligibly " yes" in one of your videos.
🤣🤣
I have one made by the Original Manufacturer, Silence. Very cool to hear your thoughts (get well soon!), I largely agree including the downsides like the suspension. Overall very happy with it as a first bike though with the storage, plenty of power and being able to get from central London to anywhere in the M25 and back (if you're staying at 40mph and below, which many of the big roads in london such as the A4 and A40 are, the range is a lot more than going 50-60). Hopefully in a few years when I've got a full license there's some longer range/faster charging electrics that don't require eyewatering sums (e.g what honda's announced).
I do not understand the Insurance, I went with Lexham (many others wouldn't even give a quote), and it was only slightly more than your quote despite being in London and on my 1st year of CBT!
Seems to be the future, hope you continually get better❤️
I brought the Silence S01 in April 2022 and insured with Lexham with 0 no claims bonus (haven't been on bike for years so lost it) aged 43 and it cost £250 fully comp and I thought that was bad. No regrets buying it and use every day. It was an ex demo and was 2 years old and just had to have steering head bearing replaced with their upgraded one that has a seal built in. Silence UK drove 150 miles and fixed under warranty within the week of calling them.
Scooter rider invincible hero mode, with the shorts on.
Mike fully committing to the typical scooter rider attire.
Every rider knows, you only have to wear *actual pants* when you have a petrol engine. Sheesh. 😎
Exactly Wiz 🤣🤣🤣
I bought one of these and absolutely hated it so sent it back.Terrible suspension and think your right it’s really only for commuting or around town, ride at road speeds and the range goes down sharply. For the warranty it needs to be serviced by SEAT but only dealers who sell it, my nearest was 100 miles so no chance of making that so add the cost of van hire to have a short check over. It’s not SEAT made it’s a rebadged Silence bike, Spanish company. Shocked at your insurance, I added it to my policy £60.
Hi Kate - very interesting review. Some of the viewer reactions seem to be comparing it to a motorbike used as a pleasure toy for weekend blasts, which this isn’t. Very impressed by it’s get-up-and-go, 60mph is excellent. I’d like to see one rider tootling along that same route (like a trip to/from work), not using superman mode, and see what the range is then… I bet there’s 65% battery left.
Get well soon flower, even as a pillion your output is brill. Cheers!
Superman mode 🤣🤣 yes I'm gutted I didn't managed to ride it myself and do these things :)
Nice one Kate... Nice to see you back in the saddle... all be it as a pillion 👍
I have one, use it for commuting. Overall I'm happy with it's performance. Definitely some niggles (third headset bearing in under 3000 miles.....) Performance is good, suspension is crashy, and realistic range is around 40-50 miles with my usage.
I salute you both for doing that review. I haven't seen 1 review yet where I've felt "yeah , I'd like to try that"...
Thanks for keeping us informed though
I have the Silence S01 (same bike but original brand) and drive it daily on my own through Welsh roads. It is brilliant and well worth the money. Like nothing I've ever experienced before and I've had big bikes. Probably not so great with passenger.
Excellent electric scooter🤗 great point about insurance Kate 👏👏👏
🤔🤔🤔 for the city commute possibly great bike.
I've had a Seat Mo for the last 2 months. The bike is great, however, the suspension is quite poor. Also, I've noticed the odometer readings aren't correct - my journey to work is about 5.9m, however, the odometer show almost 10 miles for the journey.
The odometer are actually illegal they are so inaccurate which of course also gives an equally inaccurate range. A guy on TH-cam did a video with GPS to prove it
Hello Kate another great vlog looking forward to seeing you on a sportsbike soon wearing your leathers and swanky helmet and dark visor ride safe lovely lots of love 💕
Enjoyed the video and the review. Have you ridden the BMW C400GT or the CE04 (that you mentioned)? I'm getting pretty serious about the C400GT. And the CE04 looks interesting, tho we don't have the EV infrastructure here to make it practical.
I've ridden the C400GT! Corking scooter, I prefer the X as less bulk but if you want the weather protection, its great!
@@UsernameKate Thanks for the feedback! So, how about a Piaggio MP3 500/530?? Thanks!
I could actually use one of these for shopping trips, which in my local area are right in the sweet spot for this scoot's speed and range. And I love the underseat storage, even though the scooter is fugly.
My 2022 Hayabusa is NOT the perfect bike for riding 10km to the supermarket and back lol.
I've bought one with options attached, very comfortable but the suspension is too bouncy, only problem with battery power is the range but it's fine for me and only costs one pound every 100 miles to charge it at home, very quick of the line and able to get through traffic with no problems, very funny being able to out accelerate powerful cars of the line, great breaks and top of the line tyres by perrelli, unfortunately just recently mine has broken down, it needs a new battery and plug, new srearing bolts and bolts that hold the rear break disc on, still not got it back from the dealership and it's been an unreliable bike so far, just hope when it's fixed the issues I've had don't return
It’s a clever design with the battery removal but the size of that thing and the short handle would get old fast. It’s a nice feature to have a reverse (I used to ride a H.D. with a reverse) as you said an ok around town scooter. I know you don’t like it much but the dynamic dual rides are as good as the solo videos.
Just hired one for 99 euros a month it’s amazing
A very pretty scooter. 👍
That is quite a cool thing and will be very good for the right people and their usage. I think they still need to perfect it but I bet it's way cheaper than the other ridiculously expensive electric motorcycles on the market. Hope you get better soon Kate😘
Thanks Will!
Ive found in the past a brand new vehicle starts off cheap on insurance and increases as it gets older. Also had a quote last year for over 20K for my S1000R……managed to get it for around £340 in the end. Not had a bike for a few years so lost all my NCB so thats why its higher than most.
“Oh my god I’m starting to rhyme all the time, I’m a poet and I didn’t know it”.
Haha brilliant
BMW CE04 is another car brand with a electric scooter, hope you get better soon ❤️
Yea, I meant a car manufacturer that doesn't have its only full motorcycle range. I know about the CE04 and other electrics scoots. But Seat doesn't have an existing motorcycle range.
@@UsernameKate Hi Kate, by proxy it kinda does? Seat are part of VW AG group. VW own Audi. Audi own Ducati.
I understand you but you don't walk into a Seat showroom and see a section for Seat Motorcycles, and you DEFINITELY wouldn't see a Ducati line up in there 😅
@@UsernameKate you're right there. We'll see how much interest they have here in England/UK. Probably sell out in Spain where Seat is based.
Trouble with these for me is that I'd have to charge it every day. I couldn't quite do my commute two days in a row.
Plus it would take me a few years to break even on owning a much cheaper petrol bike if I also take into consideration the money for charging it every day.
Plus servicing and repairs seem to be an issue if you're not lucky enough to live near a dealer
I fancy an electric bike but not atm
Just done insurance comparison and bikesure £119.33 fully com .
Male aged 58 full NCB locked garage in Northamptonshire and sdp commuting
The tiger 1050 which is a 2011 bike I own is £83 a year . It could be an ideal commuter for my 35 mile round trip to work mot of it on NASH NULLS
Have u had a chance on the BMW to compare?
Haven't ridden it yet! Defo in the future! 😊
Good food at Delph....
A good night every Tuesday at the Delf.. But not many left Kate.
Great review Kate. Glad you even had fun as pillion.
But electric ???? It really depends on what made the electricity. It could be a coal fired scooter, a natural gas scooter, hydro-electric scooter.
Dang, you made me hungry again, time to go cook something ....
Insurance would be the killer, can you plug it in at the supermarket? or is it 3 pin 240v only?
3 pin only this one.
I got quoted 350 fully comp at 54 and new CBT. Bloke I know got a 11kw Zero DS and on a CBT us paying over a thousand.
Hi there, I had to stop eating my dinner, because of LOL. Kate doing a review…by Mike. And from the studio back to you Mike😂 saying WHAT??? Briljant live report. I assume Mike s on the payroll now, or does he get commission. Great vlog guys. Can t wait wat you serve us next 👍👍🇳🇱
I had labyrinthitis after a vacation and a lof of swimming and diving, I got an infection, it felt like I was walking on board a ship in high sea, drunk, doctor forbid me to drive untill it was gone, it did take 4-5 days and I was well again, seems like yours have lastet longer ?
I’ve had it a few times and it is quite disconcerting 😳
Great review Kate , bit of an acquired taste looks wise imo , insurance also seems on the steep side , still 💯 petrol for me , did look fun for a short bimble tho 😁
It was definitely fun !
in shorts, lol, you're both lucky it didn't rain lol. Paul Beattie says hi. Hope all is well
I love the Delph. Weather permitting, I’ll be there for Tuesday nights bike night. Although the food they do on bike night isn’t even close to what you had there!!
Interesting bike. Have you got any plans to review the Keeway E-Zi Mini? That looks like a micro commuter thing which is pittance to buy!
Really Adam!? They should sell a breakfast on bike night.. I'd have a breakfast for tea!! And I'm having to try anything I can get my mitts on lol 🤣
@@UsernameKate it’s crap burgers and really nice cakes but that’s usually it. I’ll have to convince my other half to come with me to try one of these breakfasts!
Looks like a nice little comuter quite a decent range clever idea with the battery but that insurance quote wow was he wearing a mask when he gave you that ?
🤣🤣
How much does a new battery cost?
Around £3320, way too expensive and also shows you what the other 99% of the bike is worth. They charge at 600w to make the battery last longer . In comparison a new 14.4kwh Zero battery is SIX GRAND, that's as much as a 40kwh Renault zoe battery, a real con.
Noticed a review on silence version and pillion noted battery forced his feet wide, did you have same problem?
I was pillion a long while ago but I don't remember being aware of that
900 quid bloody hell 😳
😬😳
Not really interested in the bike (sorry), it's the range thing. If I have a decent day out, I can easily do over 200 miles, how often would I need to charge it? Oh yeah, what make was Mike's helmet?
Hey Keith! It's a HJC flip front, not sure of the model!
I’m getting range anxiety just watching this! Perhaps leccy bikes are not for me right now, maybe if the range/ battery technology improves, I would look at them as a runabout
I watched a clip on YT by someone that has knowledge on the subject and they stated that battery technology is just as unlikely to change as fuel technology. Stuffing more power into a battery unit is just as unlikely to happen as stuffing more capacity into a gallon of petrol. Its just not on the horizon. Not in the next hundred years anyway.
You've had this for quite a while now. Any chance of recovering.?
2 months of it and I've finally got my balance back! I just film and then schedule posts, I'm usually a month ahead of myself 😁
Hi Kate, was the insurance quote high for the bike due to it being new or are all electric bikes coming in with high quotes?
Not sure Gareth!
Wait for Seat mo performance..... Way better
At 900 pounds insurance wow but then I have been back to biking for two years the good months only lol and it costs me about 1300 hundred pounds for three bikes and I am 71 years young two with bikesure and one with carole Nash bike sure would not do three on one policy anyway get well soon Kate and its good to see your bloke working for a living taking you out on trips lol
Bikesure and Swinton do multi bike policies. I own a few and it’s actually cheaper on a multi policy.
Seen these a few months ago. The design looks right and the price and performance is right.
Shame it’s the chavaloids preferred mode of transport, which puts the insurance sky high.
Nice and stylish bike although it’s plastic everywhere… you don’t want to drop it 😜
Wait for it! What ? £5000
That’s for loosers
Thats a big cumbersome battery for only 40 odd miles, TCMax is alot better system for removing the battery and alot smaller too, wonder what the weight of that battery is
To be fair to it, Mike wasn't hanging round which in reality, probably is it how it would be ridden AND we were 2 up which again, will suck away the range. Battery weight is 40kg 😊
Lol Chinese junk. I looked at one in a showroom that was new and used as a demo, bolts were going rusty on it already
Good review, especially with your nasty balance problems. Having a motor in the hub isn't good for handling - massive unsprung weight will completely overwork the shock and the weight is all at the rear. The removable battery is a good idea....but what a whopper !
A whopper 🤣🤣 favourite word that
Crazy how long youve been suffering with labyrinthitis. I supposedly had it in 2016 …..i was driving and my world started to sway side to side. Honestly thought i was going to die. Never suffered from it again thank god. Only lasted a few seconds . Went to Drs and said I’ve got labyrinthitis and it cant be cured !? Never suffered like that again… how was OULTON park today?
Hey Andy! Mad that it lasted 2 months for me! Oulton Park was great ta! Had a great time 😊
Hi Kat, hope you get we'll soon and you can ride soon and as for the bike it is ugly and idont like the look of it and by the sound if it the insureance is high and that is steep
i'am missing uphill (8% +) , raindrops (~1000gramm/1liter +) , headwind etc. and the "daily lagguage/bags" ...so i will not belive this VW-imperium -only Ducati bring fair deals🤗
✌️😃👍
Good vid, but not a thing I would even consider. Insurance is a rip off, would sooner have an electric mountain bike.
Bike night there on Tuesdays
When do they stop? Since we're heading into winter :(
@@UsernameKate not too sure , soon I’d expect , there’s another new place it’s a fishery that has a good place , not been myself but it has great reviews
Looks good but insurance cost would put me off
Wait till you insure a Zero on a CBT
😬
Insurance is killing bikes cars etc, beyond ridiculos, its high time your insurance went off your own personal record, no point being safety conscious when punished for others who arnt
Great review but have to say I despise EVs. Would rather have a Grom or similar.
Seat....the only one..?
Wat about BMW....and Honda....or do you mean ....without already motorcycles in there product range...
I didnt mean it like that. Bmw/honda etc already have an established motorcycle range. Seat doesn't. That's where I was going with it.
@@UsernameKate yes ....i think it's the future...u mean they can only make cars so small....or you get somthing like the Twizy from Renault or what Renault is doing now with Citroën and Peugeot...the strange smartcar looking thing with the two fronts...🤔😁
Great video again....i hope you can ride your self again soon...get better soon...
Be careful
Always
Kate is not bad 😃 but I am not satisfied they are expensive and you cannot do too many kms a TH-cam that I follow is there in your country with zero electronics greetings
Ok 👌
2up on a scooter, usually the domain of chavs on the rob. 🤣
Mo money. Mo problems.
🤣💸
Concept is great. Range and insurance is poor. Personally don’t believe that battery power is the way forward. Just an old dinosaur. 😂
£900 'kin hell crocodile. Can't see anyone buying one of them then.
I’ve just had a quote for £299 with bikesure
Could be something to do with me being a TH-camr.. who knows!
@@UsernameKate obviously they consider you to be a high risk rider! 🤪
