Haas will sell at the end of next season to Andretti, Gene is a business man and knows that an F1 team who's in last sells for less than a team who finishes in 7th or 8th, simple business. Because Haas have a good car in qualy, they need not focus on outright pace all in all, rather a 70%-30% on race day to qualy, an overall decent car will sell better than a qualy or race "merchant". Haas has already given up, but Andretti have a new HQ being built, Haas might also look for a deal that will discount the overall sale price by keeping Haas as a title sponsor without having to pay title sponsor money
Why would Andretti bother buying a bad team when they've already invested in their own team? Andretti has FIA approval, which means come 2026 they can race in Formula 1 no matter what the other teams say, Andretti just won't get paid. But also, F1 broadcasts won't be allowed to show Andretti's cars, or mention them, or show their employees. You do the math, are F1 broadcasts seriously going to blur out and ignore Andretti if they show up at Bahrain in 2026? No. They're going to be forced to let Andretti join, or have the whole sport made a laughing stock.
Steiner was the perfect team principal. He managed to turn the least known F1 team into one of the most famous to new fans. Team Principals are supposed to be promoters and man managers, not engineers.
I disagree. Team principals are supposed to oversee the entire operation. He stained the brand with the Rich Energy and Ural Kali deals and missmanaged drivers. Steiner had to go. Though I don't like the way in which it was done.

Haas’ presence got this American back into F1. I hate that we look like a bunch of fokin wankers so often. But I still believe we can have at least a respectable team.
Gene Haas is open about not caring if they are competitive. Haas uses his F1 team to sell CNC machines. They will never be anywhere near the top as long as Gene owns the team. Getting to the top requires investment and Gene is comitted to spending the bare minimum. If Haas wants any chance to become a top team he needs to bring in someone like Andretti who has a ton of cash, backing from an actual manufactuer and an actual desire to win. Outside of that, Haas will stay at the botttom until he gets bored and leaves.
Nothing will change, Ayao was under Steiner the chief technical officer for the team so the car not working was down to him, looking at one episode of Drive to Survive Steiner gave Ayao a good talking to and told him to fix it (the car). As for the factory it should all be under one roof not spread around the globe, Gene Haas needs to get his head out of the sand, am betting this is the last year for this team unless they pull a rabit from the hat.
Here is something to think about. Everything that makes Haas fast are the parts they buy. Everything that makes the car slow is what Gene does not want to invest into. There is simply no way that equipment that produced the car aero dynamics back in 2015 can perform like what is available today. And investing in infrastructure is the only way to make the current model have the best car and respect the financial ceiling imposed by F1. Buying parts at retail price and putting them into a Ford Model T chassis is simply not going to cut-it. Gene just does not seem to understand that you cannot run an F1 team like you run a tool shop. F1 is constant investments for improve return$. No investments no winning, no winning no money. When the money needed to run an F1 team is as high as this is a faux-pas can cost dearly. Money Gram coming in for example was entirely Gunther's achievement. What can poor Ayao do?
Komatsu (and Steiner) have an impossible task. Especially with Audi investing in Sauber, Dorilton investing in Williams, and AT/RB getting closer with RB. Gene needs to front up with investment, or accept last place
It doesn't matter who's running the team if the car is shite, which it is and will continue to be without more investment from Gene Haas (GH) . Sadly, GH doesn't really give a toss about the development of the car, he's happy to see it trundling around at the back of the midfield for a bit of advertiser revenue and some brand recognition.
He only needs to perform and get the cars at the front what guntber did didn’t work let the talking happen on the track! Mouths that move mean zip’ the stop watch never lies!
Takes a bit more than a good team principal to fix Haas... Steiner was great and probably has no part of Haas failures, probably only reason people even know what team Haas is.
I have been to the HAAS CNC headquarters in Oxnard, California for work and have met GENE HAAS. I cannot understand why British commentators pronounce his surname HAAS as HASS. Gene pronounces his last name as HAWS ( Phonetic), focussing on the double A sound in his name, NOT HASSS (phonetic) as the announcers constantly mispronounce.
I think it's because there was another Haas in racing for decades (Carl Haas) who pronounced his name the way The Race and most commentators do. It's not a common name so they just went with how they'd always pronounced "Haas".
Mr. Haas: These cars are slow as shit!? Wtf is going on!? Random coworker: get the dude that designed the piece of shit to run it, 😆 Mr. Haas: GREAT IDEA!!! random: 😮🎉
@@sirsancti5504 You mean Binotto leaving or the promoting move? To be fair, from the report, Binotto is quite a good boss for his workers despite being a bit bureaucratic. Him leaving is also logical as they keep making bad strategic move.
I think Gene is right in not investing further. If the new principle is better at organizing the allocation of funds and that creates a better result for the team. Gene would feel more confident in investment since the investment would be more optimized. Simply throwing money at a team is sure to improve it, but if those funds aren't not being optimized then money and potential is being wasted which is what Hass wants to avoid.
Oh, look more Haas bashing. The guy built a team with his own money when F1 was struggling to fill teams. Deserves respect. Empathy and a respectful look at the difficulty competing on a budget is one angle - or just hate on them.
If the whole team structure is flawed and short of much needed strategic investment (as seems the case looking from the outside) then changing TP will have as much effect as a fart in a hurricane. Which begs the questions; does Gene Haas really get F1? Does he have the time and energy to commit given his other projects?
I think it's a mistake. Haas is a typical American boss. Wants results at the cheapest price possible. They want results now and not give their drivers time to grow and evolve or build a car around a driver. " Here is the car, it's fast. Adapt or your out"
If you were going to ditch your principal for lack of improvement why would you pick a guy from within the organization that is also largely responsible for the lack of improvement
Theres only one logical outcome for Haas and that its sold to Andretti. Better leadership, better history and its long overdue that Andretti gets the F1 break they deserve.
How does having 3 bases at such a long distance beneficial to communications and development? It’s better to having all operations and decisions made in Europe. Logistics/Organisation/Development are key to be competitive in a cutthroat industry like F1
Properly communicating among members of large projects is a huge challenge even if they are located all in the same location/building.
Komatsu needs to visit Daytona next weekend and talk to Mr Andretti
The way I have met him his kids and his wife like 5 times 😭😭😭 backstory we all do go karting in the same series
‘He wirr not fook smashadu my door!’ - This guy
I'm surprised Steiner lasted as long as he did. I would have replaced him several years ago.
Are there ties to the Komatsu heavy equipment company?
From what I've seen, nope. Just coincidental names.
Only way to fix haas is get an owner who isn’t a clown
an owner that is interested in more than a tax write off
He only needs to perform and get the cars at the front what guntber did didn’t work let the talking happen on the track! Mouths that move mean zip’ the stop watch never lies!
Well, despite everything, one thing is for sure. K-Mag will be racing in a different series next year 😞
Haas also has offices in Houston Texas as well.
That would be their CNC side of the Haas company. They probably provide the machines but I doubt they work on car parts.
Takes a bit more than a good team principal to fix Haas...
Steiner was great and probably has no part of Haas failures, probably only reason people even know what team Haas is.
Komatsu will need to deal with Gene.
haha Komatsu started the whole foksmash thing because he said: Kevin, just f***ing smashed the door, that's not accetptable
Steiner was there for a long time. Mediocrity at that length of tenure requires a leadership change, no matter how likeable the character.
Random coworker: get the dude that designed the piece of shit to run it, 😆
Mr. Haas: GREAT IDEA!!!
random: 😮🎉
They kinda did the Ferrari move (Binotto).
@@sirsancti5504 You mean Binotto leaving or the promoting move? To be fair, from the report, Binotto is quite a good boss for his workers despite being a bit bureaucratic. Him leaving is also logical as they keep making bad strategic move.
I'm joking, im new to F1, just thought it was ironic.
@@Peter-hz3vs The Binotto move from chief-engineer to manager. (Note: I liked Binotto as his first position - he designed a nice base-car).
Imagine if Guenther says "Ok, fok it. Let mi drive!"
Alpine making his job pretty easy.
I think Komatsu may (Figuratively) be writing cheques Gene Haas (literally) won't cash.
While everyone is talking about Gunther leaving. Whats being missed is the real loss recently Dane Woods.
Komatsu will prove doubters wrong.
Oh, look more Haas bashing.
The guy built a team with his own money when F1 was struggling to fill teams.
Deserves respect.
Empathy and a respectful look at the difficulty competing on a budget is one angle - or just hate on them.
So we are supposed to just watch as shit cars from Haas have 0 chance of moving up in positions??? Even Williams is doing better
We already have the replacement for Williams at the Back of thw field, Im happy is not Sauber or Williams back there.🎉
Wait I definitely thought that Steiner was based more so in Europe. Like isn't his house and family in Germany?
Steiner’s first word wasn’t momma or dadda, it was ‘fudge’ 😂😂😂😂😂
Haas needs to sell to Andretti. Gene isn't spending the needed money to get the team better.
Sound and fury signifying nothing.
Gene is spending the money and yes it’s an embarrassment for gunther last in 2023 I would have resigned if I were him!
Komatsu has an iconic name. Should sell HAAS to actual KOMATSU Construction company.
I need an explainer video to show me how aerodynamics can cause a car to eat the tires like the Haas does.
‘Bread and Circuses…’
Theres only one logical outcome for Haas and that its sold to Andretti. Better leadership, better history and its long overdue that Andretti gets the F1 break they deserve.
I wouldn’t be shocked at all if they hadn’t reached their current operational ceiling.
How does having 3 bases at such a long distance beneficial to communications and development? It’s better to having all operations and decisions made in Europe. Logistics/Organisation/Development are key to be competitive in a cutthroat industry like F1
I know how to fix haas! Let Mario Andretti in and let haas go give the more race driven team join who will likely be competitive sooner
I miss 2018 Haas
Gene should sell the team to Andretti
Imagine Haas using Honda Powertrain
It’s not even the power train it’s the lack of investing from ownership
Crazy now to think haas out qualifying ferrari
Haas is just playing at this
Playing at funding the creation of an F1 team?
This channel really has done Haas dirty.
Investment, it might not be the silver bullet but God knows they fucking need it, also, less billboard with wheels, more F1 team
Haas in a gun fight... "here's a knife, go and perform"
What is gene hoping for? All Teams are investing heavily but he is like no you got this thats enough
