  • Nylon disc removes and cleans everything, can strip without scratching. These paint and rust strippers easily remove or clean finishes from wood, metal and other surfaces. The flexible discs are made of a nylon Scotch-Bright™ material and fit a standard electric drill or angle grinder. This stripping product conforms to the contours and curves of your work surface and reduces any gouging. They are designed to strip with minimal material loss and will not damage the surface like wire brushes would scratch.
    Move quickly. Moving the stripper disc too slowly creates heat. The heat will melt the paint or finish. The melted finish will clog the pad and will reduce the results and increase your time.
    The paint and rust strippers come in both heavy and light duty options. They work on cement, ceramic, scale and plastics. The pads remove oxidation and will clean up weld lines.
    They are also useful for automotive repairs like preparing areas for auto body filler, fixing dents and removing rust, paint and under coating.
    The discs are sold as Black Hawk™ Easy Strip and Clean Discs, and Strip N Clean. They are also sold by 3M™ Paint and Rust Stripper.
    Uses include:
    Removes paint, rust, scaling, glue and other adhesives
    Cleans weld lines and weld splatter
    Soft disc Quick, easy removesWorks on wood, metal, brick, plastics, cement
    Clears surfaces with little material lost or gouging
    Auto body surface preparation

    Great - I'm getting one of them to fit on my black and decker drill - trying to strip layers of paint off an old kitchen chair with stripper and paint stripper tool - after 3 hours I haven't even scratched off the first layer of paint and looks like there's another three to go - from wishing I hadn't started, looks like there's hope yet!

    • @blairgilbert7606
      @blairgilbert7606 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It is coarser, grabs more material and does not clog as easily as the sanding flapper. Plus it wears to a shape which helps when getting into tight areas.

    Can the angle grinder be used on soft wood like garage doors and frames ? Or will the drill bit be better for that

    • @MrHardware1
      @MrHardware1  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The grinder has better feel and speed, you will need to learn to use very light pressure and keep it moving so as not to melt the paint or dig into the wood. The drill is much slower but safer.

    • @MrHardware1

      Yes, but be careful not to remove much if any wood. Let the grinder float over the surface and not get the finish too hot or it melts and ruins the pad.

    • @MrHardware1
      @MrHardware1  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hard glue should come off very easily as long as you don’t let it get warm and melt and fill the pad. Keep the machine moving back-and-forth and don’t let it sit in one spot long enough to get hot.

    • @MrHardware1

    • @blairgilbert7606
      @blairgilbert7606 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't mind the drylok, I suggest you drill holes (about 1/4") in the bottom course of block to drain out any water. You may need to drill several holes in the first block to find the voids in the block. Then drill a hole every 4' or so to release any trapped water. Now wait for a heavy rain and 4 hours in go downstairs and see if any water is coming out the holes. The water will indicate where your landscaping, or cement, is low and letting water drain towards the basement wall. There is where you need to do water management and get rid of the water and the wall will be dryer.
