I see that you have moments where you can speak perfectly , so keep calm and motivated , robert

I am a stutter. It was really hard as a child. But as you get older you learn coping mechanisms.

Want me to full-on block? Ask me to repeat something! 😠😆
How do you handle a tough room? The eye-rolling, the snickers, the giggling, the scowls, the crossed arms, that sorta thing? (When I was your age I did not react well, which is why I'm curious.)
Also, do you have an opinion on Brayden Harrington (the kid who spoke on national television last week). Personally, I thought it was the bravest thing I've ever seen. 🙂
    Another great video. Thanks!

haha yes! My stutter gets unbearable when i get asked to repeat anything. To be honest, I've luckily never been in that kind of situation but i can imagine it would be pretty discouraging. I didn't see the entire speech he did but I did hear little clips here and there and I thought it was super brave and gave a ton of awareness to stutterers

My stutter has been recently getting worse and my friends and my mother don’t understand and will always ignore or interrupt me which makes it worse😕

Yes, I hate when people ask me what I said because usually I got my words out right the first time but stutter when I have to repeat myself.
(Listening to your video and commenting) Yes I hate saying my name soooo much, I usually have to write it down or if I'm with someone they'll tell the person asking for me. My name is Alexander, ironically enough. People almost always got my name wrong and correcting them was awful.
My stutter has gotten so much worse the last few months and changed to where every couple of words I get stuck on one sound. Usually my stutter is more like, "Thhhhe wa-a-a-ay I said it wa-a-a-as" But now it's more like, "I w-w-w-w-w-w-w-w-w-w-w-w-w-went to the s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-store". And my words are so tight I feel like I have to hit my hand or leg or something near by (not people or pets lol) just to get it out but even now it doesn't always work.
Oddly enough, when I recorded some commentary for my channel, I only had that happen a few times in a few hours instead of every couple of words all the time but I always stutter when I try to do an instructional video.
Keep going, I know you can do it!

i stutter too. but i manage to cut about 95% of it out of all my videos i post on yt. yours is a tad more severe than mine so thats probably not possible for you. lol. but mine can go from mild to severe within a matter of 5 mins. hahaha. i just have to lower my heart rate, take deep breathes, and become less excited or angry and it goes back to mild until i get worked up again. my mom stutters too. and if i'm having a good mild stutter da, but my mom starts talking to me and she's stuttering (her's is worse than mine lol) then i immediately go into a severe stutter day. oh and i know you said you said g's are your trigger sound so you say your well instead of your good. for its its the opposite. i avoid words that start with a w like the plague. they always trigger a server stutter day for me. and i used to work for a sales company that sold different products, and i had to sell a cleaner called whip it. so you can only imagine the mental gymnastics i had to go through to sell that. lol.

haha wow I guess that just goes to show that every stutterer is different! But my stutter has definitely changed over the years. I used to get extremely stuck on k's and now it's g's and m's but I did used to cut my videos just because I didn't think anyone would give me the time of day but I got loads of comments saying to just upload them raw so that's what I've been doing :)

    •  4 ปีที่แล้ว

@@lifewithastutter6974 upload them raw? hahahaha. i could never. not i said the cat. lol. i am not that brave. although recently with the pandemic and my channel being majority about travel i have been thinking about doing more vlogs about my stutter and doing ONE Video where i don't repeat any lines until i get it right or try to control my breathing and just be my full real self. but i was going to read tongue twisters to make the video a little more sillier. but we'll see. and i agree just upload them raw. i am sure there is a kid or adult somewhere who will look at these and think wow i can be confident to. especially the people whose stutter is far more severe than both of us. keep on with life with stutter. maybe we'll do a collab one day. our stutters are here to stay and we are not ashamed. oh and subbed.

@@lifewithastutter6974 oh and even though i cut my stutter majority out of my videos there have been moments when i didn't even notice when recording i stuttered so when editing, i realized my words were so jumbled together in certain parts that it didn't even sound like i was speaking real english, so i had to put the actual sentence on the bottom of the screen. lol.
