Nah. The owner of SXTH Element drove a 407 whp hyundai for over 100,000 miles. Even had a car seat in the back. If done properly, modifying a car doesn't necessarily affect reliability. This guy's tune is rather moderate. Sounds awful, though.
i did that when i was young. dumped a ton of money into a cheap eco car. I should have just saved and put that money down on a real car. probably would have been cheaper in the longrun but it was a blast to make a slow car somewhat quick
As an Elantra Sport owner myself, I just wanted to offer my own opinion on this car...for starters, it's a Hyundai, so if you get one new, be prepared to lose big time in the end (Mine was $23K + TTL when new, now is $12-13K with only 30K miles, in not even 2 years). Secondly you HAVE to get these cars with a manual, the EcoSHIT Dual Clutch wears out way too fast (mine's been in the shop 8 times for transmission errors). Also beware of Hyundai service centers, not had good luck there either. It can be a fun car to drive no doubt, but again, be forewarned if you do decide to get one of these beforehand.
240whp?!?!?! why’s everyone else on the forums with these same mods barely making 200whp? is everywhere you go the air filled with nitrous or something? LOL come on dude
The car has 201 hp off the bat so a few simple mods can get you 39 more hp read about the car before you speak on it I have one and I can keep up with a STI don't knock it because one just mite smoke your POS

This is why I'm big on no dct cars besides high performance high dollar cars; everything about this kid screams hypebeast( the cut, champion shirt) and they're the ones who ruin the car scene with shit builds/ignorant arrogance. Having manuals kept most of the kids away because they're lazy now it's getting more and more prominent
Why does Smoking tire keep bringing on these examples of modded Hyundais and Kia...the last one of the Kia Koup damn near killed me. There are way better examples of builds out there.... Also to the owner of the car, please delete pops and crackles asap....you'll appreciate it later when you don't have to tow it home after some unexpected renovations to your turbine.
While the pops and crackles are a little too much for every day driving, I have to say that I own as a daily an '18 Elantra Value Edition (2 trim levels down from the TOL sport), which is a $21k car out the door. And you DO get a whole lot of car for that money. Mine is N/A, 6 speed auto, and for every day driving, it gets out of its own way pretty well, is comfortable, quiet at highway speeds (drums along at 80 mph without skipping a beat, and you could have a whisper quiet conversation at the same time), and even with the torsion beam suspension, once you put it "Sport" mode (which just firms up shifts and stiffens the feedback of the EPS system) it handles very well. Would I mod it like this? Probably not, but that's why I'm finishing my full drivetrain swap on my Subaru this weekend. But for the price point, you absolutely cannot beat it. Hyundai has come a long way from the dark days of Excels & Accents.

@@ebatr8 I meant no offense to the owner of the car. 250whp is the most you will get out of the stock turbo. I own one of these and I've been around since they hit dealers. I also have a facebook group with over 2k members. We've seen it and the tuners have experienced it. FBO + tune + meth injection will get you 260 if you are lucky, but don't hold your breath. Si stock turbo is bigger than the ES. Aftermarket LSD is available.
Just because you can do it, doesn't mean it should be done
I miss Matt , he would put this guy in his place, with his "WHP" and exhaust !
Luboslav Bujnak Of course he would, Matt’s family are tycoons so of course Matt grew up full of himself and douchey. This guy probably had alcoholic dysfunctional parents and is proud of his Hyundai. Why accept his car for review just to put him down?
Hyundai jake brake

ibdustin15 just what I was thinking. 😂😂
He's gonna blow that car up
he said "im going to turn it into a cannon car" hahahahahaha
He's going to flip this one too. Dude is worrying about a bigger turbo more than his wheels tires and suspension. And he wants to make it a can you car LMAO.
@@NinjaJerky WITH ALL THAT MONEY HES PUTTING INTO IT HE COULDVE GOTTEN A BETTER CAR ALREADY. BUT HEY TO EACH THEIR OWN LOL
Nah. The owner of SXTH Element drove a 407 whp hyundai for over 100,000 miles. Even had a car seat in the back. If done properly, modifying a car doesn't necessarily affect reliability. This guy's tune is rather moderate. Sounds awful, though.
Why would he buy this car and then dump money into mods? Why not pay more up front for a sports car?? And something manual.....
XtechnoPOLAKX because he probably doesn’t now how to drive a manual.
i did that when i was young. dumped a ton of money into a cheap eco car. I should have just saved and put that money down on a real car. probably would have been cheaper in the longrun but it was a blast to make a slow car somewhat quick
Because his mom probably would co sign for a sports car
Zack, why did it look like you wanted to wipe of the Hyundai off your hand after the hand shake? 😂😂😂
Welcome To The Madness he felt the rice in that guys hands
Because he saw the herpes.
Jose Lopez how is his car riced? It’s tuned n everything. Only problem is the obsessive pops he wanted in his tune.
Talk about a weak way to end the year out for the channel, lol
I'm praying that next year we have some amazing cars
@@lmc_motorsports My Elantra Sport will be on here next year. WAY more stuff done to it than this one. And no pops and crackles. ;)

So it wasn't just me who noticed then 😂
I really like the Elantra sport. It looks a lot better than the overstyled Civic in my opinion.
Hell yeah. Much better looking.
Might wanna keep stuffing those biscuits because cars are not for you.
Damn, Matt lost a lot of weight and height.
Angry Beard Man and grew some hair on his head
240whp?!?!?! why’s everyone else on the forums with these same mods barely making 200whp? is everywhere you go the air filled with nitrous or something? LOL come on dude
I Have an Elantra Sport and I'm making atleast 600whp when I'm sleeping.
He's probably making 240hp to the crank, not the wheels
The car has 201 hp off the bat so a few simple mods can get you 39 more hp read about the car before you speak on it I have one and I can keep up with a STI don't knock it because one just mite smoke your POS
robert 512 😂
Thats not No2 thats in the air.
Its all the shit that the owner and Tork are talking, lol.
cracks and pops are pretty cool but nothing beats a 6speed.. lmao had to edit to include: "bigger turbo, why are you doing this? Im going to make it a canyon car." lol how bout suspension and tires?
Nah. He wants to go fast but doesn't think about tire grip which helps with stopping or pads/fluid. Guy sounds like he doesn't know much about cars but is trying to sound like he does.
Canyon car needs brakes and better handling. Someone is going to kill themselves after that big turbo install doing canyon runs.
I’m in me mums car
Get out me car
GrassyHair Bring me car home
Im a fan of crackles but this is crackling literally all the time, which means fuel is being dumped in the cat all the time. It honestly sounds terrible and its going to definitely have adverse effects
All crackle pop tunes dump raw fuel into your cat. All crackle pop tunes have adverse effects on cars. Its a turpid ricer fad that needs to die.
Every first date: “what’s wrong with your car?”
I’ll abide by the adage that ‘If you don’t have anything nice to say”..........
As an owner of a stock 18 sport 6 speed, better tires make it so much better
Haha 240 to the wheels, I call bs lol. This car tops out around 240 with fbo and meth om stock turbo. Take your tork tune home
whatajoke tork junkies are back at it again 😭
Tork aka "Goofy" or "John the Spouse Beater Bushbaum" is at it again with his snake oil products auck yuck.
I thought Tork was booted from the Hyundai community already, what the fook, lol....
Te Shuk'la Solus Why was he booted? Tork as in Tork Motorsport Damnfastdd?

Does Wells Fargo know about their car about to be blown up?
OOOHHH, he's going to wish for some better brakes in 3 to 6 months! The only issue I have without Hyundai : the damn brakes. This car looks like fun all around though.
Frederic Purenne hyundai brakes are terrible first mod I would do to the elantra and a veloster is put ceramic brake pads and that’s it
Better rotors, pads, stainless lines and some good fluid are sufficient at this power level.
I'm sitting here waiting for the exhaust to fall off
A rental car with "240whp" (unlikely)... no thanks.
Hate to say it but basic Boltons and a tune will put out 240whp and near 300tq. And a far nicer interior than a civic si, or any car really at 18-20k.
Why is 40 over stock “unlikely”, it’s more like “beyond realistic”...do your research brother.
@@ElmerTFudge 240whp is 280-300 crank hp, big difference. These cars make that with fbo and a tune but it's more like an 80-100hp difference
...you can rent Ferraris and Lamborghinis...what's your point...?...
@@IReahpZz To make 240whp on this car you need full bolt-ons, including upgrading the intercooler. This particular car does not have that. He's making 220 at best.
Just....why?
Should’ve bought a Civic si
The civic si is one ugly over styled car on the road.
I would agree
The looks can be the last thing about the car but it is much more special than the Elantra like it has better performance and has LSD
@@991carreras3 looks are not important as there are even uglier cars than the Civic
The Civic Si has more aftermarket support than the Elantra
I bought my Elantra Sport for 2 reasons. First, better looks. Second, I drove it off the lot for $18k brand new. Not doing that with an Si. There's is a lot of value in this car.
@@991carreras3 I don't think so, are you sure you don't mean the Type R? That car is certainly hideous. Elantra looks like a Kia Forte... Civic Si has stick, etc, etc. For me Civic Si no brainer.

I'd respect that car a lot more without the obnoxious exhaust.
You guys dubbed over the car noises with fireworks sound effects! Happy New Years to you too.Pop! Pop! Snack! Crackle! Pop!
😂🤣😂🤣🤣
Not sure what was more annoying, the exhaust or the owner talking about his "bas ass" car.
Im gonna skip talking about the popcorn pops, so for anyone interested in this car here's my take, as someone who has owned an elantra sport for the last 3 months I can definitely say it's a great car! It feels more like an Audi A3 than a Hyundai which is pretty nuts for a mid 20k car!
Looking forward to this trend dying like rattle can paint jobs and "I heart h8rs" windshield banners

Y'all are clowning with these comments. Way too many pop and crackles for my taste but good on him for setting up his car in a way that makes him happy. Lord knows I was being obnoxious as hell when I Turo'd a F-Type recently. Thanks for the content Zack. I wasn't a big fan of this particular video mainly because of the car but I watched the whole thing. And now I'm going to check out the TST Steve Dinan interview you referenced. Grateful.
Why are the comments are so triggerd? Imagine being mad over someone else's car 🤣🤣 some of u guys need another hobby or something
People should build what they want, have fun with a car, and learn as they age. Kevin is having fun, and that's what cars are for. -ZK
The only things this amazing car is missing is a couple of AutoZone stick on 'DUB' badges. Once he puts that - it will be best in class.
Uhh yeah I’ll take my SI over this any day.
Everyone is saying that there is no way this car makes 240 wheel and maybe that's true but...jeez, I was thinking "that's it??"
What I mean is that this guy did a tune, intake, downpipe, exhuast and E85 mix and he's only making 240whp?? Get a different car. That's way too many mods to not be making power.
Factory turbo is tiny. Is what it is.
That pops I wouldn't want to listen to that all time. Overall nice car.
David Santiago there not bad cars it different when people do something different from everyone else
@@richiewrx1549 I have one my dude, semi full bolt on (not doing a downpipe)...I'm not ripping the brand at all...
That exhaust is ridiculous by the way
I've always wanted this car idk why people are hating it so damn much. The sport has a really nice aftermarket exhaust.
Manual is so much better than the Hyundai DCT 7 speed. Shame he went auto like most women
Yeah only women drive automatics haha haha.. But seriously the DCT is way quicker.
That dct shifts like lightning. Chill
Saw it was an auto and I immediately face palmed

Cool car dude! It’s nice to see somebody working with a not-so-common tuning platform. Everybody’s seen a million Japanese tuner cars done a million different ways, and yea the Genesis coupes did well, but who would suspect an Elantra? Aaannd it utilizes a dual clutch transmission?!.... I wonder if it also has limited slip, a device that makes any FWD become next level
It does not. One is available aftermarket but only for the 6MT.
Struggling to say anything positive about it 😂😂😂👌

The pops are so aggressive because of the DCT
Can you guys please start putting the host of the video in the title? Saves me from clicking on the wrong video's
His name is on the intro screen a few seconds in.
@@JTube571 I know. That's my usual away clicking point. It was just a question and "no" is an answer too.
@FRtôge Entitled? Am I entitled for choosing what I want to watch? I'm not saying Zach is doing a bad job. I just don't really like his content. I'm not saying I expect this channel to put the host in the title. I'm just asking because you miss every shot you don't take.
I can't make better car reviews than Zach, but that doesn't mean that I have to watch his for some reason. I subscribed for Matt and I watch his videos. You calling me entitled is not going to change that
It's pretty simple man, if it's a press car it usually has the model year in the title and it's Matt. If it's a fan's car, its Zach.
This man makes me want to drive my elantra off a cliff..
Hilarious review. Good job with this meme of a car. What a way to butcher a great sporty commuter
Idk why everyone is roasting this car. I have a stock 2018 sport and I really like it. It even handles better (in my opinion) than my old 2008 and 2010 mustangs.
Edit: it makes for a very balanced car for collage
I love pops and crackles, but that's too much.
Why is it popping.... are the injectors leaking

I get that it's his car and he can do whatever he wants to it, I agree with that concept, but the modern idea of "cool sound" and "modified exhaust" comes down to this ?
