It's gonna be interesting to see if this can live up to the legacy of not only the original MGS3, but also the standard of quality that Kojima himself set with the level of polish he always placed on each entry of the series.
I've barely ever played a metal gear game so this will be my first
I played 5 only but ive been craving a similar game from kojima
@@AP90x Same here!
Well u r in for a treat then mgs is a cut above everything else
You’re in for a ride
You can start with the master collection. That is a good entry point for newcomers.
so hyped for this honestly i hope they are faithful the whole way cos it looks outstanding graphically
So its MGS3 with some QOL changes from V?
You have my attention.
This has me super excited.... for my favorite game franchise of all time
I'm just praying they didn't censor anything abour EVA
The fact they haven't shown her in preview footage is suspicious
@@Channel-io4xuyep I feel the same, longer they go without showing her the more I’m worried
yall are gooners bruh 😭
"they havent shown her in preview footage" theyve barely shown ANYTHING in preview footage and moreover thats probably to avoid spoilers for any of the newer fans hoping to get into the series through this game
4:26 The "I like MGS4" Option was already in the 3ds version of snake eater and gave you a DPM camo
Release date.....please let it be soon
Yes hype
It's rumored to be in November 17 i think. Gamestop "accidently" the release date and immediately took it down
@@Sam-Fisherlove your name bro wish ubisoft would say something about splinter cell remake 😢
@@Sam-Fisher makes me wonder after seeing your name...snake...vs sam
@@ricaroo3284 i hope....wooooooo
i kinda liked the cure/survival menu. Made treating a wound more than just "hold down button", and tied into the 'osp supplies' thing that the mission was all about.
I remember my brother playing the original on his PS2 back in 2004... I think he shot an crocodile?
A crocodile
@@cx5870autism
A gavial, actually.
@@ladnie9454 close enough
Okay, you actualy got me excited for this game now.
I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS.
This guy gets it, especially compared to the dude who made the video for IGN.
This is exactly what we wanted, MGS3 with new graphics and QoL updates.
The explosions and fire look so real! Thats so exciting!
they do look really good
far from "realistic" though lol
I need this now. Will be turning my phone off and drawing the curtains when i get my hands on this 😅
Bro you're great at your job. Keep it up man, very engaging.
This preview was done so much better than all the negativity of the IGN preview
Not used to hearing Dan speak in such a serious tone. Goes to show how much respect and reverence he has for the MGS franchise. I would want no one else to have told me about the game.
I wonder when this is actually coming out.
Before 2030, that’s for sure. I’m thinking before 2026-2027 (early).
latest 2025
Glad to hear this is looking good. Cant wait. Snake Eater is probably my favorite game.
Rolling is triangle? Don't really care for that change. If I'm being honest, it seems like an extremely dumb change.
Only for rolling from standing (so you don't need a direction)
therell be an option for having the og control scheme with presumably roll on x so
I'm hoping we eventually get a remade team sneaking Metal Gear Online experience. stealth suit and mk2 tranq pistol was a wild online multiplayer experience
I’m so out of the loop. I didn’t know Kojima and Konami split.
Dang, almost a decade late on that one lol
Yeah that was ages ago.
Been out of gaming for a while?
@@WhiteHawk77 no just stuck in a fighting game hole and blocked out everything else
@@josepartida1711 that’s a mighty big hole you got there. 😁 But seriously, if you want to get good in fighting games I get it, it takes some commitment. I’ll never be good at them though I’d like to be, I was brought up on Street Fighter 2 in the arcades and SNES and bought 6 when it came out and have a stick but haven’t got the time to more than do low level stuff these days.
Good to know. ⭐⭐⭐
The kojima slurp in this video is crazy…its okay if they try new things with metal gear
??? where
The transition to new areas was not only probably necessary, but it makes the game less confusing.
It's a bit disappointing that each area isn't seamless, but instead has a blackout before the stage changes, just like the original version.
I don't really mind. I wanted this game to be as close to the original as possible
I'm more than fine with that, not like they were very long, I'm just happy we get another mgs game, let alone a remake of the best one
It’s gonna help with the graphics and ai tho so I’m ok with it as long as it’s instantaneous
Apparently enemies don't follow you area to area through loading screens either very outdated way to play games these days makes me a little nervous
@brisbanecarmeetsandtrackda9072 I don't think they did on the original? I can't remember them doing but then again I always killed everyone, or put them to sleep, nothing to be nervous about, the OG game was fantastic, this remake will be even better
This was one of the first games I ever finished as a kid, I remember playing the final battle in the mall parking lot and being so proud of myself. I can’t wait to experience this masterpiece again.
3ds version?
@@CatInSuit69 yes! Lol the control scheme was so hilariously bad but that gem shined through and is still one of my favorite games ever
DAN RYKERT IS THAT GUY
Bravo Gamespot, you have selected an actual game journalist to report on this game. It's so refreshing to see that.
Seems like they might have stayed too true to the source material instead of maybe adding some new things.
They didn't need to add anything, the original is already perfect.
Why should they add anything ? They already added better camera control, graphics/engine update all while keeping true to the original game
You want a new game or a remaster/upgrade/remake of the original ?
@@bubrub5564then play the original. There’s nothing wrong with improving stuff like not fading to black to load a cutscene, or linking zones so you have a broader experience with the same content
@@Prohass It doesn't need either of those changes, especially linking areas which would completely change the flow of the game. If you want something different play a different game, simple as.
they added quality of life features which is clearly shown and stated in the vid
Dan, you really did an awesome job on this preview. Much better than what IGN put out.
FINALLY A REMAKE and not a “remaster”
More like reskin
Definitely looking forward to it.
I have the old game so I don't need it.
I honestly can't wait for the remake of peace walker
I cant believe there are still loading screens in 2024 🤦🏻♂️
Because it's a remake of a game that also had them dude. What were you expecting
@@AsymmetricalCrimesgee idk, seamless transition that can easily be accomplished with this new generation of technology, its really not a lot to ask
@@AsymmetricalCrimes A Remake should improve all the things that were bad in the original
@@AsymmetricalCrimesit had them because of technical limitations not as a design feature.
@@AsymmetricalCrimesthe original had them because the PS2 was a handicap in those aspects. Wish they were improved in the remake but alas.
Finally a preview that takes into account the history and trust between fans and Konami ! They needed to stay faithfull. In that specific case, its a good thing. Thank you
3:45 - that is absolutely terrible news. There is zero reason they couldn't have just rebuilt it all into one world other than time and budget I guess.
It’s better that way, it is a remake after all
Or to be a faithful remake, obviously.
The remake staying faithful to the masterful, tightly crafted level design of the original is terrible news??
Some ranks would be nearly impossible to achieve if it was all one world because of the alert systems. Foxhound rank is hard enough to get in OG when enemies aren't linked across the world.
You have no idea how game design works if you think you can just completely gut the structure of the levels without a complete overhaul of the entire layout of the game.
Words cannot articulate how excited I am for this.
people really are dumb if they think kojima left konami WITHOUT some conditions. he is to smart to just leave his life work to people who dont know what they are doing. of course he left but he probably had a condition that MGS remakes and remasteres are being reviewed by kojima, shinkawa, murata and fukushima.
they took his engine
i don't believe he had any conditions
🤡
considering nda's don't hold up
pre nups don't hold up
wills don't hold up
yes he wrote out an entire condition list in crayon on a bar napkin
and it was deemed a legal document
so now if anyone leaves Konami that will break the conditions contract and there will be no more metal gear
🤡
sounds normal right?
🤡
If that were true, Metal Gear: Survive would not exist.
PLEEEASE remake the original PS1 game! Go crazy and add all types of stuff make it the greatest remake ever!
Meaning there's no need for me who played and finished it twice to buy this remake
Really like that Red and Black model!
true to the original character design tell that to Silent Hill 2 remake
Dan Ryckert is at GameSpot now? 😮
He’s defiantly the man to be reviewing this!!!
cant wait! didnt have the chance to play the OG back then.
i'm so excited for this
It’s really great to see great gaming journalism like this again. I’ve spent too long on IGN.
