    I truly believe taking Curcumin daily for the last 4 years has played a huge part in helping put my crohns disease in remission. Along with that, the weight training and meal plan you do with me, has completely changed my over health and definitely assisted in a reduction in anxiety. I took Asgwagandha every morning and night for a week. It did WONDERS for my anxeity and my abillity to handle stressful situations (like performing CPR in my job).
    BUT, after a week of use I started feeling "hollow", empty, very unmotivated and depressed. It's like my emotions got numb and my whole body just felt like a hollow shell. It was actually quite frightening.
    So nowadays I only use Ashwagandha occasionally during extra stressful situations. Maby once per week or less often.
    I stopped drinking coffee and all drinks containing caffeine. And completely stopped eating candy and drinking sodas. I also cut out as much sugar as possible. If I need a energy boost I use vitamin C and iron supplements instead (not too much though).

    Also just learned of Myo- Inositol, therapeutic amounts of this is amazing for intrusive thoughts, OCD, depression, anxiety, eating disorders etc. Any mental/brain disorder. It's definately worth trying, and it's not expensive. For me, Lithium carbonate has been the most effective for severe depression. I know that’s a prescribed drug, but the orotate version is OTC and should be helpful for people too. I’ve tried almost every ssri, snri, tricyclic, etc. and lithium is the one for me. I find that most of the supplements in the video are more sedating like melatonin and not so effective in racing thoughts or low mood. Just my experience. Thanks for the video.

      Hi Kareem. I can't really say how they'd work for you. I get the most relief when anxiety hits hard from the Metagenics supplements. They give me relief in about 30 minutes and the ingredients are not addictive so you can take them year round. But unfortunately you can't get the Metagenics unless you are in Australia or New Zealand (I didn't know that when I filmed the video sorry). You could look for supplements with similar ingredients and try them. Any help is better than none. Take care.

    • @MelanieDurette
      @MelanieDurette  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi. Remember I'm not an expert so do your own research but my thoughts on your questions are as follows. There's usually not enough magnesium in a multivitamin to make a difference and I take my multivitamin around midday whereas I like to take a big dose of magnesium before bed to help with sleep.

    • @MelanieDurette
      @MelanieDurette  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I haven't seen any research saying magnesium is bad for you but I've read a lot of research on the benefits! Finally, in terms of other supplements, these are the ones I mainly use for anxiety. The NeuroCalm makes the most difference for me while the others I mainly use on a daily basis for overall health and feeling good. I have been experimenting with rhodiola lately but so far I think I'll use that one just to help buffer in periods of high stress.

      Hi Monique. I think I need to do a follow up video in the future because when I originally filmed the video I thought you could get Metagenics worldwide. Unfortunately even if you can find Metagenics, sometimes the formulas differ in different countries. My best suggestion is to go back to the video where I give the ingredients and then try googling them to see if you can find something with similar ingredients (at 10 min 10). I think the jujuba, magnolia and passion flower are all very good and you should be able to find supplements with one or two of these ingredients. Hope that helps.
