      If you know about Airbus , his preparation is incorrect , I don’t understand if he is PF or PM he performed many actions as PM , a few as PF …really disappointed!

      @@okq3041 He is a captain, he know what he do and the procedures can be always different, that doesn´t mean that if PM or PF touch one button thats correct but the other pilot has to push it doesn´t mean that the procedures will be less safe or incorrect, what he wants to teach is how to do the cockpit preparation, and his procedures are correct

      There may be very minor variations, but these are standard operating procedures set by Airbus.

      No particular reason. This was just the setting up based on the preliminary weights as per the fight plan. Once I receive the load sheet, it will have the actual weights.

    Hello Richard! Couple questions from the simmer here: if APU is operative, do you use both PACKs on ground for conditioning? Or one PACK is enough during preps and PAX boarding? If neither conditioned air ground source nor APU is available, is it possible to use high pressure ground source and PACKS instead? Great and useful video btw! I've been searching the "real" procedure quite long to compare it with FCOM normal procs. Thanks!

      1. Normally the APU supplies both packs.
      2. To my knowledge high pressure source is not used for packs operation.

      The Flysmart apps are available on the App Store, but to get the data for the aircraft(s) requires a link to the Airbus database which is company specific.

      I was based in DMM in 2019 until March 2020, then after the lockdown we relocated to JED. Have not done DMM - TIF in a very long time. I don’t remember exactly how much fuel needed, but at least 8000kgs.

    Why not start one engine at the gate then start the other engine via cross-bleed during pushback?

      I could’ve, but not DURING the pushback. That’s not allowed, so then we’d have to wait until after pushback to start the other engine. The whole process would therefore take longer, so when we we’re allowed to do it (which is not every time), we start both engines at the gate.

    What I really find surprising is that you tell us the APU is not available. Was it damaged by an action from the previous flightcrew? Is an aircraft even allowed to fly without a functional APU?

      Most definitely you’re able to operate without an APU.
      In normal operations the APU is used for ground operations to supply electrical power and provide air conditioning and starting the engines. All these functions can be provided by ground equipment. Once the engines are started, they provide all of the above and the usually shut down anyway.

      There is an Airbus procedure for single engine taxi, but my company doesn’t approve it under normal situations.

      In theory yes. But you're supposed to do it by engine 1 as the yellow hydraulic system powered by engine 2 can be run off an electric pump. If you only run engine 2 the green systems has to be run by PTU (the barking dog) and don't want that running constantly annoying the passengers
