A superb full flight video. You have a very busy time on a fairly short flight like this and the professionalism in the cockpit and from the ATC folks is magnificent. You really earn your salaries. Many thanks to you and your FO for this glimpse of what happens 'up front' when we fly as passengers and many thanks to Eurowings as well for allowing this.

The short flight from the UK to Germany across busy airspace shows how much flying needs complicated team work between you and the various ATC controllers -- very interesting

As always, this is phantastic content. Knowing how much effort goes into editing video, I highly appreciate your dedication. We may take such quality for granted, but it clearly is not. From camera placement to the final edit, everything is highly professional. If we had such videos 40 years ago, I would probably have thought about a career in aviation much earlier instead of obtaining a PPL later in life. In any case, this is great study material for flight simming, which is highly appreciated as well.

I looked forward to a video this morning, and was thinking where it might be from/to today, and I guessed, before getting up, a landing at DUS. Of all possible options, this was indeed was I was treated. How funny!

That was absolutely outstanding Stefan, thank you. It was so interesting to see the operations on the ground at Heathrow and I could sense a very high degree of concentration for that. Also very interesting on final at DUS when the FO said "Let's see if it will do it [slow to 160kts] itself" and you said "Maybe need a bit of speedbrake". So I guess when you're in Thrust Idle and Open Descent, the A/P adjusts the angle of descent to capture the target speed but you can't do that when the angle of descent is fixed on the glide slope so you may need to use a bit of speedbrake to make it slow down sometimes, yes? When I am playing on my Microsoft Flight Simulator (it's just the freeware which doesn't simulate the A/P and A/T modes of a real Airbus), I always find it really difficult to slow down at the right time!!! Do you know if there is a VERY simple guide to the Airbus A/P and A/T modes accessible somewhere? - I am very interested in how they interact with manual inputs like the speedbrake. Thank you so much again for a great video.

When the power is already idle and you have to fly a certain speed on the glideslope, you have to use some kind of drag if the plane does not want to slow down. Speedbrakes are a good help. I do not know about a simple guide for the autothrust and autoflight systems interactions. The Airbus FCOM provides a good amount of information.

Good to see an airline still allow hand flying the departure. Most airline SOPs these days want the autopilot engaged shortly after takeoff, especially in busy airspace.
Here the decision is up to the pilot when he or she wants to switch on the autopilot during the departure. The same is true for switching off the autopilot during the approach.
