  • As a young boy Alberto A. Gutiérrez was interested in European sports cars. As a teen he had a Dino slot car which was his absolute favorite car to race at the local slot track. After collecting a number of classic and modern sports cars he bought his first Ferrari about 15 years ago which was a 1969 365 GT 2+2. That was followed by a 328 GTS, a 360 Modena and then about four years ago this very special 1973 Dino 246GT.
His Dino is a European-spec "Chairs and Flares” model, fitted with larger Campagnolo wheels that required flared out fender arches that give the car a more aggressive stance. These cars were also equipped with the same Daytona seats from the 365 GTB/4. A relatively small number of these cars were built, mostly for the American market in 1973 and 1974. European-spec "Chairs and Flares" Dinos are hard to find.

This is quickly becoming one of my favorite review channels. I like that the focus is on the driving experience rather than endless history/trivia that anyone could read about on Wikipedia

Lovely feature - how is it possible this video doesn't have more likes? The Dino 246 has always been a handsome devil.

This 1973 chairs and flares Dino was the most beautiful and prestigious project that we ever build, and very nice to see that the car is loved and driven bij the present owner.

Maybe the nicest spec I’ve seen on a Dino. I think it was possible to have a Daytona seats without the flairs and vice versa but the two almost always came together. Even then Ferrari was good at up selling options 😉

I believe you are correct about that. I also photographed this car and and interviewed the owner for Forza the Ferrari magazine and a reader write a letter to the editor commenting about the flares and chairs misinformation out there.

Great - a chap who not only buys the car but drives it like he stole it. That's proper Ferrari ownership.

This channel's content has beaten out Petrolicious in my opinion. This channel is the best.

Beautiful, & how a Dino 246 should be, no Ferrari badges & Alberto never called it a "Ferrari Dino". We all know the links between the Dino & Ferrari but it just shows somebodies insecurity's when they put a Ferrari badge on, & just as bad is a prancing horse!

I dislike the sound of the V-6 on this car. David Lee had the right idea. Put a V-8 in this car. Only its shape is beautiful
