It's somewhat amazing to what length you do stretch and trouble yourself just to play these old games fluently on a phone. I mean bringing up a system to run things smoothly should not be any concern of a consumer. Just buy a game and play it. But with all these different systems gone it seems to be necessary somehow. Very often I don't understand it completely, but somehow it's nice to see how much effort you put into testing and stuff. It seems that you don't do anything else the whole day. Greetings from Berlin. p.s. How much was this Motorola? I still do have 2 Moto G (1. How can this be operated comfortably from the couch and can the display be turned off while watching over HDMI out? I assume 4K playback and widevine level 1 is not a problem. But how about 4k output for a TV? Does HDMi over USB-C support 4k 120 Hz or 1440p 120? With android running so smooth on a phone it could be a better solution than any FireTV or older console since new Series X and PS5 are hard to come by and need much more juice while streaming. And hey, you could test out PS Now every once and then. For me it seems to be the only way to experience certain PS4 games without buying a PS5 or a beefy RX graphics card.

An over clocked Snapdragon 865/865+/870 (essentially the same chip produced by TSMC not Samsung) would out perform this even. Can you look into that XDA thread and try it out?
Those desktop modes Xbox (partially), Samsung and Motorola now have will soon make PCs unnecessary for a lot of people! Smallest form factor that can do all the basic tasks, and even a little more with native gaming, game streaming and editing softwares.
This is so impressive
Multitasking on android still sucks. Windows PC is still best option for me for everything I need
What was the split controller shown in the thumbnail?
Edit: I think it is a Saitake 7007.
I love your content! I'm waiting for the s22 to drop
You serpass awesomeness
Like always thanks for what you doing.
Finally it's here 👍🏻
Really nice! Can't wait for the razer device with this chip! Who needs a steam deck anyways? ARM is the future
I doubt it since pretty much all softwares aren't ARM-compatible. That is why Steam Deck is still relevant.
@@farishanafiah8461 just to clarify, we are talking about gaming, emulation here. I dont need to run spreadsheets on a handheld, but even with that, there are versions of windows that run on ARM. Even Microsoft has an ARM surface.
What controller did you use in the thumbnail? It looks nice
I think that it is a Saitake 7007.
Very nice video thanks, I wish we were able to see the operating temperatures though. I have a SD 888 and playing Gamecube at 720p after about 20 minutes I get thermal throttling at 45c.
Use Dolphin MMJR2. I can play GameCube for hours and no issues. Of course, it can depend on the games.
Wish you tested more mainstream but heavier to emulate stuff, say GTAs or NFSes (both Dolfin and Aether). I understand that it might not run great, but it still would be interesting to look at
I wish we'll eventually see the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 on those dedicated handhelds like Retroid Pocket and the Anbernics.
Gen) here somewhere. 😄 Would this setup be a substitute for a console with emulation, streaming and android gaming at hand? How can this be operated comfortably from the couch and can the display be turned off while watching over HDMI out? I assume 4K playback and widevine level 1 is not a problem. But how about 4k output for a TV? Does HDMi over USB-C support 4k 120 Hz or 1440p 120?
With android running so smooth on a phone it could be a better solution than any FireTV or older console since new Series X and PS5 are hard to come by and need much more juice while streaming.
And hey, you could test out PS Now every once and then. For me it seems to be the only way to experience certain PS4 games without buying a PS5 or a beefy RX graphics card.
looking forward to the tab S8 emulation test, since it also has a gen 1.
i am definitly getting one this Fall.
Great Review, keep good working
Let's go! More amazing emulator videos.
I have a s22 since October and whenever I play dolphin, my phone starts to overheat, is there any solution?
Amazing, I'm impressed
I have the same phone coming in this weekend and plan to review this next week. Awesome video! Very excited as I have not owned an Android phone since 2013.
Wonder how performance will be with the Amd chips coming out? I have a note 20 ultra and this upgrade seems tempting.
Too bad samsung decided to skip exynos with amd this year due to some issues
I wish you had your own benchmark leaderboard
The new naming scheme is something I can get behind! I’m pretty techy and the mobile processors always lost me. Atleast now I can keep track!
Can you do a video on ready for and compare it to Dex? I've been looking for a single device to replace the majority of my devices, really curious to know how it compares.
Really looking forward to the “ready for” video. Do you feel any latency while gaming? How’s it compare to Dex when gaming?
What’s the emulation launcher used here? And do you have any kind of guide for setting up android emulators?
The handhelds are gonna be amazing
Looking forward for you to test dimensity 9000 and exynos 2200. Good content btw
Hey brother thanks for the videos I slapped the like button
What kind of foam/paper do you use for the backdrop for the video shots you take of your phone screen
Wow love this video

nice.
Seeing motorola doing this dex mode makes me want to switch from xiaomi and poco. I love poco but they are stuck with usb 2.0 that doesn't allow dex mode. The only caveat that I have with motorola is software updates, that is why I am sticking with poco and xiaomi
That motorola desktop mode is looking spicey. I still don’t get why this isn’t a standard stock Android feature yet.
The realme GT2 Pro actually hits 1million antutu benchmark with the SD gen 1.
So would this analysis be the same for the Samsung galaxy s22, as well??
Idk why we can't ever have the flagship specced hardware in tablets.
So we can finally say that mobile gaming has reached the ps2 type of experience
It's incredible what a phone can pull off these days.
Not all that surprising considering system like the PS2 is like over two decades old now and systems like the Wii and PSP wasn't really a console powerhouse to begin even during it's release, both these consoles capabilities sits somewhere between a PS2 and PS3 and in some way is even worse than the PS2 in terms of hardware.
Wonder why they moved from an SD card slot and removable battery. Great phone, love what the desktop mode
